She was napping, not knowing that someone was in her room taking a bootlace they had no right to take. The door shuts, which awoke the auburn. She scowled and put her glasses on. She looked around and found that most of her things were untouched, but when she checked her boots, she found that she was missing a lace. She sighed, but her boots on and headed out.

Trent sighed to himself. First he was woken the previous day by Jane and Tom fighting, then Tom wanted to try and make up with Jane and now he was about to take himself, Jessie, and Tom to pay-Day. He was about to head out but when he opened the door...
"Oh, hey Trent," Daria greeted, spooked that he had opened the door before she would have rung the bell.
"Hey Daria," he greeted back.
"Jane around? I need to see if she's got any spare bootlaces," Daria asked.
"Nah, she's gone to that new warehouse store that just opened," Trent replied. "We were about to head there ourselves. I need to get a headlight for my car."
"I guess I better tag along...I need a bootlace," she said and the four piled in the car.

'I know this place isn't somewhere I'd want to be, but he's been complaining ever since we got here,' she thought.
"What would anyone do with that much catchup?" Tom asked.
"Uh, put it on hamburgers?" Jessie offered. Daria noted how Trent closed his eyes. She could tell that Trent hadn't had his normal amount of sleep.
888
"I think this is the one you're looking for," Daria pointed out a headlight to Trent, stopping he and Tom from getting into a fight.
"Cool," he said, took the headlight off the shelf and the quartet continued on their journey to find Jane.
888
"Great, the power is out," Daria sighed out.
"This wouldn't have been a problem if the two of you didn't get distracted by every little thing," Tom growled.
'He needs to stop that,' Daria thought.
"Grab my elbow, I'll get us out of here, Trent quietly said."
"What about...?"
"Let'em kill each other if they can," Trent answered. "Jess's been wanting to do that ever since he found out Tom and Jane had that fight."
"Ok, but just how are you going to get us through a dark store?" she asked, but a moment later she shivered as the air around them grew cold.
"I've got my ways," he replied smirking even though she could see it.
888
'Trent?' Jane thought while holding a large bag of gummy bears. She had been so pissed at Tom that she hadn't thought of calling Daria to tag along with her. Although, Daria probably wouldn't want to be in this damned place. Of course, neither did Andrea.
'So, Trent's here...what the hell is he doing here? Better not move to far from whether the hell I'm at in this prison that was once a store.'
888
"How have we not bumped into anything or anyone?" Daria asked.
Trent chuckled but said nothing as they made their way through the darken isles of the warehouse store.
"And, how do you know the sided guide technique?"
"Had a blind girlfriend during my sophomore and junior years at Lawndale," Trent answered. "
"I've not seen any..."
"Li cut funding to the that program and most of the students had to go to the stage ran school for the blind," Trent explained. "Yo Jane!" he called out.
"Well, fancy meeting you here," Jane replied.
"Yeah, well, Tom came by to try and patch things up with you, but you'd already left so we came," Trent started.
"Quinn stole a bootlace...probably was going to have a fashion club hanging...so I came looking for a spare bootlace and here I am, blister and all," Daria finished.
"And where is Tom?" Jane asked.
"With Jessie," Trent answered.
"You knuckle head!" Jane shouted and ran into the dark in a futile attempt to find Tom before Jessie killed him.
"Just in time," Daria remarked after the lights came back on, "now, let's get the hell out of here."
"Yeah, hey, how do you know that light will work?"
"Ever since I've was trying to get my license I've learned all I could about car maintenance, just encase I happen to come across a heap I'll need," Daria answered.
888
"Try it," Trent said and Daria cut the lights on and both lights came on.
"We have light," Daria smirked.
"Cool, I'll take you home," he said and Daria slid into the passenger seat.
"What about...?"
Jane can walk Tom back home," Trent smirked and started the motor. "Thanks for helping get the light, I'm not functioning on my 18 hours of sleep."
"Tom was being an ass unnecessarily. I'd make comments about being a crappy store like that, but Tom was being a selfish ass about it. So, I guess leaving him in Jessie's care was a fitting punishment for him."
"It wasn't your idea to ask for my help with project was it?"
Daria bit her lip then replied, "No, it was Jane's."
"You wouldn't have asked me that on your own...you were shy around me, and still are, just a little bit," he continued and grinned seeing her blush.
"Yeah, well..." Daria mumbled to herself.
"I should have told the truth instead of stupidly just saying 'yes'. Plus, I should know better in getting involved in anything to do with that fucking school."
Daria winced at the harsh word used by Trent, but it fit seeing that Li was running the place like a prison.
"That was an O'Neil assignment wasn't it?"
"Yeah."
"He's nothing but a wet blanket," Trent uttered.
"A wet blanket that's having sex with Bartch," Daria added and Trent choked from the shock of that statement.
"Damn, she hated Jess and me the most in our year," Trent said after recovering. He pulled up and dropped Daria off, watching her head inside.
'She's got to start wearing pants, that skirt is just too much,' he thought and drove off.
