Trent groaned as he was awoken by noises outside of his room. He frowned to himself. It sounded like someone was chasing someone else through the house. He opened his door and stepped out to see Daria chasing Jane with a pair of scissors. He could smell the scent of hair dye as well. Watching them, Trent could tell that Daria looked pissed and determined to give his sister a bad hair cut.

"Hah, you can't outrun me even if I'm wearing combat boots," Jane gloated at the panting Daria. The auburn growled, snipped at the air with the scissors threateningly and lunged at Jane who shrieked and the chase continued.

Trent came downstairs and over to the source of the hair dye scent. He looked at the bottle and wondered why his sister would want Daria to dye her hair.

"Don't just stand there, help me!" Jane shouted at her brother.

'You owe me,' he thought and waited to get himself in position to stop Daria. When the two ran by, he caught Daria around the waist and held on to her.

"Let go of me Lane," Daria growled at him.

"Calm down," Trent replied, not relinquishing his hold on her.

"Thanks," Jane said gratefully."

"Ok, give me one good reason why i shouldn't turn her back loose?" Trent asked.

"She thinks that I didn't want to dye her fucking hair because in her warped, paranoid mind I'm after her boyfriend!" Daria snarled, sounding a lot like her father to Trent.

"Janie, I think you asked the wrong Morgendorffer to do this," Trent commented, still keeping a hold of Daria.

"I know she's got to have some interest in Tom," Jane countered.

"Even if I did, what louse of a friend would I be to do that? That's Quinn's department, taking the guy of one of her friends!" she reminded Jane. "What? Do you actually think I'd fuck up the only friendship I've ever had over some guy?"

This revelation shocked Trent to the point that he almost let Daria go, but he didn't. Jane bit her lip, not knowing what to say at first.

"The only one you've had?" Jane questioned finally.

"Yes," Daria responded in a quiet tone of voice. "Why do you think I acted so weird around you when you first got interested in that Evan boy from the track team and then Tom? I thought you were about to completely forget about me."

Jane sighed, "Why didn't you tell me?"

"I don't like talking about my days in Highland," Daria replied.

Jane bit her lower lip. She had been an ass of a friend recently to her.

"I'm sorry," Jane apologized, "I guess...I guess in my mind I wanted you to dye my hair so I could once and for all say that you weren't interested in Tom. Let her go, Trent," she said to her brother and he did so, taking the scissors out of the loose grip Daria had them in.

"The only reason I've acted better around him is because I had to spend time with him during that whole damn homecoming parade crap, and the only reason why I was there was because my father didn't keep up on how much toilet paper there was in the house," Daria commented. Trent, tried not to, but he started chuckling, then it turned out into a full out laugh. Jane glared at him for a moment until she found herself smirking then laughing along with him. Finally, a quiet chuckle came from the auburn as well.

"Ok, Jane said after recovering and began to dispose of the dye, "it appears that I'll need profession help if I wish to continue wit this crazy idea of having tiger striped hair."

"You need professional help period," Daria quipped.

"Let's just go get some pizza, all that running around has got my stomach roaring at me to feed it. Coming Trent?" she asked her brother.

He was about to reply that he needed to catch up on his sleep, but instead said, "Cool," and the three left.
