He stood there, waiting on her to ask whatever she needed to ask him, but before the auburn could ask him about the assignment she and her best friend were having to do, /Trent caught the sight of Nick and Max fighting. Excusing himself wordless, he went over and dealt with the fighting pair.
'That's why he's always sleeping, the band is draining him,' Daria observed while watching Trent breaking up the fight. 'I'll ask him later, or at least, ask O'Neil if we can actually use his help or not.'
"Sorry about that," Trent apologized, "what did you need to..."
"I'll ask later. You think you can take me home? Jane's gone off with some boy she just met and I'd rather have her here to explain what we need from you," Daria explained.
"Yeah, if I wasn't apart of the band I'd not stay for the second set either," he joked with a smile.

He'd come back to the club to see that Nick and Max had gotten into it again and Nick had quit. This was why Trent was sitting at the bar. He was even too depressed to have a drink.
"I saw your band's implosion," a male voice said from the stool on his right. He turned and saw a dark brown haired boy with a black haired girl sitting beside him.
"Yeah, those two have always fought. I guess Jess, Max, and I will have go on tonight with a bass player," Trent explained.
"Hmmmm, I play bass, you think I could sit in?"
"What's your name?"
"Daric, and I'll throw in my keyboard playing girlfriend for no extra charge," Daric joked and Trent laughed.
"Thanks, what covers do you know?"
"What don't I know should be the question you should be asking," Daric answered and Trent smirked.

"Well?"
"He said that it has to be of our own effort, we can't ask someone else to provide any of the material for this stupid project," Daria answered.
"Damn, and here I was trying to get some more quality time for you and Trent," Jane said with a smile.
"And I'm looking to give you some quality time with an empty grave," Daria spat back.

"Look man," Max began, "I know she's Jane's friend and Jane's been seeing some guy for the past couple of months, but why are you letting her watch our practices? I mean, Angel is one thing, she's apart of the band, but Daria ain't man. Besides, isn't she too young for you man?" Max questioned and Trent glared at the drummer.
"Hey, she's cool, besides, she ain't got anything else to do besides having to put up with her crazy parents and her sister," Trent shot back.
"Yeah, but she might be a distraction for you though," Max retorted and Trent rolled his eyes. Even if she were a distraction, she was a good one.

She laid on her sighed, trying to go to sleep, but couldn't. The whole thing about Tom, Jane, and her first getting pizza and then not getting pizza was confusing her. It appeared that she coming over had occurred about the same time that they were having another one of their spats. She heard a knocked and acknowledged the person that was on the other side of the door.
"Hey," Trent said greeting her.
"Hey, how was practice?" Daria asked after siting up.
"It was cool. I heard you're going to be staying here for a couple of days," he said and sat beside her.
"Yeah, dad tried to burn the house down and I'm stuck sharing a hotel room with my sister," Daria explained and Trent shuddered.
"I wouldn't want to share any sort of space with your sister," Trent relayed.
"Neither do I."
"Jane didn't go out?"
"No, Tom and her are having problems."
"Must go back to the whole gummy bear thing."
"Yeah."
"They aren't going to last much longer," Trent commented.
"I'm beginning to see that. I'm feeling uncomfortable around those two now."
"Yeah, that's how it is when you're around a couple that's about to break up, you get bad vibes from them."
"Isn't that a waste of time though?"
"Hmmmm?"
"Dating someone that you do have some connection with and then come to find out that you can't stay in that relationship for the long haul."
"Dating doesn't mean you're trying to find someone you'll marry," Trent explained.
"But still, doesn't it seem, like a waste of effort and time?"
"You've been around your sister too long. She's probably given you the wrong ideas about dating."
"That wouldn't be the first time I've gotten wrong ideas form her," she said and Trent laughed.
"But, it is cool that you're looking for something meaningful, but you don't want to look so hard that you miss something," he said and took her hand.
"Yeah, miss something," she said quietly and blushed.
"Y'know, you and Jane never asked me..."
"It was some class assignment for O'Neil's English class...but we would have taken a 10% hit in our grade had we used your outside help," Daria answered.
"That's why I hate that place."
"The band has been sounding better with Daric and Angel."
"Yeah, not as many fights now and a lot of the creative weight is off my shoulders."
"Was your muse ready to run away?"
"At one point it did," Trent said and shook his head.
'Maybe that was a good thing we didn't ask him for music. If he was having trouble writing something then he wouldn't have been able to give us anything," Daria thought.
"Did I miss your birthday?"
"Huh?" she asked confused.
"I don't remember Janie ever mentioning your birthday at any time," Trent continued.
"That's because I don't like celebrating that day, it reminds me that I'm not an only child."
"Hmmmm, just trying to see how close to 18 you are."
"17."
Trent grinned to himself. She was older than he thought she was. "Well, I guess I don't have to wait as long as I thought for you to be a little older."
Daria's blush deepened, "Why would you want to date some like me? I don't look or act like Monique."
"why would I want another Monique?"
"I don't...show off..."
"Of course you don't," he said and pulled her against him, "you don't feel like you have to get attention that way. Besides, that skirt of yours does enough for me," he finished and Daria believed that if her face got any hotter, her flesh would probably start a second house fire.
"Do we..." she began, paused so she could gather her thoughts, then continued, "do we have to wait 'til I'm 18?"
"Your mother would kill me and send you away to some all girls school if she found out I'm dating you. She doesn't like me."
"That's because she's so used to Quinn having boys near and around her age that seeing someone five years older than me freaks her out," she said her voice raising in volume.
"Well, I'm willing to risk it if you are," he said.
"Are you sure you'd want...?"
"Hey, I know what I'm getting into. I know you're not like what I've been dating for the past five years since I've been out of Lawndale High. I know that under that shield of yours you're far more vulnerable than you want anyone to know. You don't want to take a risk because you're afraid of getting hurt, and I can understand that. Pain sucks."
"Can...can...can I...trust you?" she asked. In response, Trent leaned in and kissed her softly on the lips.
"Does that answer your question?"
"Yeah," she began with a small smile, "it does."
