Christmas Miracle in the Cold

Chapter 6 Epilogue


Two days later Helga once again shut the door to her room behind her. She dropped an arm load of Christmas presents onto her bed and sighed. The Christmas morning ritual was over. Parents and sibling had been endured and presents had been opened. The loot had been decent this year. She received only a few lousy gifts, from her dad and his side of the family. She had not got much besides that, but she at least received a book or two that looked interesting.

But what made up for not-so-great gifts was that somehow she had got a portable DVD/Bluray player. No one knew quite who it was from but it was pretty cool nonetheless. She was very happy to have it, even if her family did not own a lot of DVDs.

Mostly though she was glad to just be away from her family. Ever since she had come back from Rhonda's Christmas party she had been not had much time alone to ponder what had happened. Maybe now that the family togetherness was coming to a close she could sort out what she remembered.

She flopped down on the edge of her bed and was about to lay back when she suddenly noticed an envelope on the nightstand next to her bed. An all white envelope with her name written in familiar looking golden flowing script. Her eyes narrowed as she suddenly had a funny feeling about the item.

Even before she opened it, she knew it would be a card. Sure enough, inside was another brilliantly colored red and green Christmas card. As she read the words, her heart leaped inside her.

Dear Helga,

Merry Christmas! You did splendidly, even after poor Arnold made
that slip about Lila. I am sorry about the cold water and that
freezing room. You two just needed a little push to get things
going. I hope you felt alright after it.

And in case you are wondering, I used a little magic to get your
clothing back onto you two before your friends arrived. I felt
that you should be the one to tell the world about your love,
and not have it told for you when your friends found you two
together like that.

Be good and more importantly, try to be nice. Ho ho ho. Merry
Christmas!

As she read, Helga's head was awash with feeling from the words. But she automatically looked and suddenly she saw a small flat wrapped package on her nightstand she had also not noticed before. She tore open the wrapping paper and found it was an clear CD jewel case with a disc inside. The disc was labeled "Movies of Youthful Christmas Memories".

It was a Bluray DVD disc. Helga wasted no time in popping the disc into her new portable DVD player and clicking the menu button. The menu displayed a picture of herself and Arnold, both in their party attire. She clicked the 'Chapters' option and gasped as she read the titles.

3. The door is opened
4. Poolside
5. Wet and cold
6. Trapped
7. Taking off it all off
8. Cuddling for warmth
9. A shared moment of love
10. Cuddling in affection

Helga smiled so wide she felt her face was going to crack. It had not been some crazy dream. It had not been some convoluted memory. It was REAL! And she had super high quality video to remember it by!
