MaxJ1800: I was only giving her chronological age...,unbeknownst to Team Alphanumeric, she'll go through a growth spirt while they are getting Lexicon on their feet. don't worry, Becky shall make it perfectly clear what they should do. I'd see Carina causing Tobey more trouble than anything.

Tim was finishing unpacking. He turns on his computer. He hears the sound of the FTL transmitter picking up a transmission. Tim frowns wondering who would be contacting him.
"Finally you answer."
"X²? What the hell are you doing contacting me?"
"You're about to have trouble. The Predicate Guard is on its way to Earth. Planet Lexicon's continuing council wants your woman to run things."
"Why?"
"Decimal came out of that fight with The Archive mostly in tact."
"I guess that's in part to that uniform you're wearing? I thought you weren't supposed to even be a citizen anymore."
"They begged me to come back." X² says with a smirk. "Lexicon, on the other hand, was left mostly without a government. Several factions have arisen wanting to claim power. Your woman is the only rightful ruler of Lexicon still alive."
"Great...,Becky's not going to like this."
"Well, I delivered my message. Good luck, you're going to need it." X² says and cuts the link. Tim lays back on his bed wondering when they would ever get a break. Then his phone rings.
"Hello,"
"Tim, get over here. The Predicate Guard just decided to drop in uninvited."
"Great, X²'s message came a little too late."
"Huh?" Becky asks confused.
"Never mind that. I'll be there in a couple of minutes."

"Now let me get this straight...,Lexicon wants me to come back just so I can run things?" Becky asks disbelievingly. "After what they almost did to my daughter! Earth is my home now, not Lexicon."
"Princess," Gladiator begins, "Lexicon's government is in shambles. It is true that the warlords are gone, but the current council won't be able to stay on its feet much longer."
"And why should I believe you?" Becky asks.
"They're telling the truth. X² called a moment ago and confirmed what Gladiator has said."
The other Botsfords were watching this exchanged worriedly. Was this some sort of attempt to get Becky back to Lexicon? Gladiator seemed to be genuinely concerned about the troubled politics on Becky's home world.
"Just what am I supposed to do? Leave my city undefended and go off to help a planet that probably will try to kill Tim the moment we set foot on it?"
"The rest of the Predicate Guard will stay here on Earth and defend your city, Princess. There is a possibility that something worse than the warlords will take over the planet. If that happens, the populace will become needy of war. Lexicon will try and conquer every weaker planet so it can survive. The warlords tried to take Earth once before, and to survive Lexicon would try again."
"And Tim? Carina? I've got a family down here. I'm not staying permanently on Lexicon just because things have gone bad." Becky retorts. The Botsfords relax hearing that answer. "I don't think space travel is good for her at her age." Becky adds.
"My guard can protect the child here." Gladiator offers.
"And Tim? He's a Decimalian. That seems to be a crime worthy to be shot on sight for on Lexicon." Becky spits back.
"Would serve him right..,Decimalian scum." Lock Pick whispers.
"What was that?!" Becky growls turning to Lock Pick.
"Nothing...,Princess...," Lock Pick replied nervously.
"I heard you say something...,repeat it for everyone to hear." Becky growls threateningly.
"I....,I...,just...,said that he'd...,deserve being shot for being Decimalian scum." Lock Pick says now panicking.
"That's what I thought I heard you say." Becky snarls and smacks him. Lock Pick falls to the floor in obvious pain. Becky turns to face her parents. "Give the word and I'll stay."
"I know a thing or two about politics. It's bad when a corrupt politician takes over, but if your planet falls under another corrupt system, their culture might be lost forever. You said it yourself, dear, you don't want to stay, but you might benefit from at least a visit. If it prevents the Earth from being put under siege again, then you better go." Sally states.
"You're right, mom. Ok, but what about Tim?" Becky says turning back to Gladiator.
"He's your consort. That means that both of you are under my charge ship." Gladiator states.
"Alright, but let me make it perfectly clear! You are only to take down any criminals that threaten the city. There will be no killing. Do I make myself clear!?"
"Yes Princess." the guard say in unison.
"Now, just how are we going to get to Lexicon anyway?" Becky asks.
"Huggy, how bad of shape is that space ship in?" IQ asks. Huggy explains and IQ nods. "If me and Huggy work on it, we should be able to get it in flight condition before the end of the week." IQ explains.
"Good." Gladiator states. Becky sighs inwardly wondering if she was doing the right thing or not.

"I don't like this, Tim." Becky says as Huggy goes through the preflight sequence.
"They need you. Besides, what sort of trouble could we get into up there?" Tim asks.
"I'm leaving my element Tim. I've been a crime fighter...,I don't know how to run a planet."
"It'll be alright. Hey Huggy, you sure you know how to fly this thing?" Huggy makes an indignant noise. "Sorry, but you know it's been a long time since you flown a space ship." Huggy fires up the engines and the ship lifts off. It exits the Earth's atmosphere for the first time and enters orbit. Gladiator's fighter comes along beside it and together the two ships leave Earth orbit. Once the two ships get beyond Jupiter, the two activate the FLT drives and head on for Lexiconian space.

"Wow," Becky whispers looking down at her home world.
"This is probably the closest any Decimalian has ever come to this planet without getting shot at." Tim comments. Huggy guides the craft into docking position and lets the station's computers do the rest of the work. All citizens were observing the docking as their princess returned. Some feared that she would turn their society upside down from being exposed to an inferior culture. Others were glad that the royal family would be re-established. Then there were those that thought that Zaniah should kill her current consort and find a Lexicon to mate with. then there were those who had benefited under the warlords' rule. They wanted Lexicon to take as much of the galaxy as it possible could. These were the new tests for our plucky pair of heroes.
