Tom Slone paced back and forth in his room. The fact that Trent Lane was with Daria was a fact that was rubbing his ego the wrong way.
"How could she be with that bum!" Tom ranted to himself. "He's not going anywhere in life and that will drag her down! He can't keep up with her intellect. That's it, I'm going to her house and getting her back myself!" Tom vowed. Elsie, who had been spying through the cracked door, quickly retreated to her room, grabbed her phone and dialed.
"C'mon, C'mon, C'mon, pick up..." she said to herself
. "Hello,"
"Daria? Its Elsie, listen, my brother just left and I think he's heading for your place. He was mumbling about how he was going to get you back by any means necessary."
"Damn, thanks Elsie."
"You better have Trent there or Tom might actually hurt you."
"Trent is here so if Tom thinks he can try something then let him," Daria finished and the two hung up. Elsie sighed in relief. She had warned Daria and hopefully, with Trent there, she'd be ok.

Tom drove the familiar route to the Morgendorffers. He was going to convince her that she was making a mistake by being with Trent. Tom's car pulled up to the drive way and he stormed out of it and headed for the front door. He pounded on the door and Trent answered it. Seeing that it was Trent, Tom's fist lashed and knocked Trent flat on his back.
"Trent!" Daria shouted. Tom stood over the boy and smirked. He would get his revenge on Lane and have fun with Daria afterwards. However, he didn't see the manic look in Trent's eyes. Slone didn't know the fight he was in for.
"Really Daria? You really want to be with this...this...bum?!" He shouted at her.
"It's my life and my choice, besides, why would I want to be with someone who is tied to such old money that it goes back to some time after our country was founded," she growled back.
"Can't you se that you are..." he continued but a slash to his forehead stopped him. Tom's eyes widened seeing Trent holding a switch blade.
"She's with me now, and if you want to continue to challenge me for her, then I'll make sure your body is found at the bottom of the rock quarry along with that piece of junk of a car of yours," he snarled. Tom, knowing that he was out gunned, backed off quickly. Trent followed until Tom got back to his car, and left. Trent was about to give chase, but the small hand on his arm stopped him.
"He's gone, you got rid of him," Daria said in a gentle voice and Trent relaxed.
"If he lays a hand on you..."
"He won't, not with you around," she said with a smirk and Trent grinned in response. Hopefully, that would be the last they saw of Tom.

Author's Ramblings
I know, short, but I think I've tied up any loose ends. I'd like to thank J. Francis Marion for giving me the suggestion for these last two chapters. And, for now, they will be the last two chapters.
