Now, we all know where the inspiration for this episode probably came from. Someone saw too many Halloween episodes of The Simpsons and decided to make a Daria version of the Tree House of Horrors. I'm stripping that out and putting this in its place. Enjoy!

The car had died, but that wasn't anything that Trent wasn't used to. However, what he wasn't used to was Daria's dad freaking out and yelling and ranting about how the car had died out on this darkened street. Of course, it had amused Trent to watch Jake try to fix the thing, but he knew that the car needed several full days' work which he wasn't motivated enough to do, yet. He eyed Daria out of the corner of his eye and wondered if it were possible that she had any of her father's temper. Her hair was red, well, auburn which was a shade of red, right? However, his thoughts were brought to a complete stop hearing something hitting the glass from the back windshield. Jane and Daria made sounds of exclamation as the object pierced into the passenger compartment and was stopped by the front seat.

"You two ok?" Trent asked.

"I'm fine, but I think Daria's got some small fragments of glass embedded on her legs. That jacket is tougher than it looks ." Jane remarked and then saw the handle that was sticking from the back of the front seat. "Uh Trent, is that what I think it is?"

Trent looked at what Jane was looking at and saw the throwing knife. "Jane, get out of the car and keep low to the ground." he instructs. Jane, used to Trent ability to change at the throw of a knife nodded.

"Uh, but did you bring...?"

"I wore the right jeans tonight." he remarked and brought out his longest switchblade. "Keep Daria safe, ok? Don't need anymore glass hurting her." he said and slowly got out of the car. He heard Jake ranting into the night at the unseen attacker.

"Damn it! Come out!" Jake shouted.

"Get down!" Trent growled and pushed the angry Morgendorffer to the ground just before another knife went whizzing by. "You're giving your position away. Now, stay down and keep quiet. "I'll deal with this." Trent said, stood back up, flicked opened his blade. This seemed to draw out the other knifer as another man started walking towards Trent.

"Good, I thought your reputation was just a rumor." gruff voice said. It sounded like he had been chewing on gravel since birth. He had a five o'clock shadow on his hardened face and sported scars telling Trent that this was an experienced knifer.

"What do you want?" Trent asked evenly.

"With Luigi and his Mafia rounded up and jailed in federal prison, I thought it would be safe for me to come into Lawndale and challenge the only knifer left in this state. I've got nothing of a challenge in Oakwood."

"So, itching for a fight huh?" Trent growled.

"Yeah, and I think I'll enjoy this." the man said and drew out a knife that looked like something one would use to cut raw meat with. The two blades meet and Trent found himself on the defensive. However, that changed when he started trying to cut his opponent's hand that was holding onto the knife. It took him five minutes of defending against the offensive onslaught, but he finally cut into his hand making the bigger man drop his knife. Not waiting on his opponent to draw out another knife, Trent slashed and cut into the throat of the other knifer and he fell like a tree.

"All clear?!" Jane called out.

"Yeah, he's dead." Trent said.

"I thought you didn't have it in you to...damn, you're a mess." Jane let out.

"Doesn't hurt." Trent said with a half grin.

"Quinn!" Jake called seeing his youngest daughter and her friends coming up the sidewalk. However, when they saw the dead body, all four members of the fashion club screamed and ran for the Morgendorffer residence.

"C'mon, I think we can walk back two blocks." Jane said.

"Two blocks?! That's as far as your crappy car took us?!" Jake ranted and Trent shook his head in amusement.

Had it been the bathroom at the Lane house, it would be cramped, but this was the Morgendorffer home, so the three that were occupying it weren't crammed into a small space.

"Clean Daria up first." Trent requested.

"Uh, but you're..." Jane started to protest but Trent shook his head.

"You know you've seen me in worse states." Trent said and Jane sighed in agreement.

"What are you going to do about the dead body next to your car?" Jane asked as she started removing the glass from Daria's left knee and shin.

"When we've cleaned up, I'll call Jessie and we'll head for the rock quarry and dumb it there." Trent answered.

"I'm guessing you've done this before." Daria noted.

"Yeah, Trent's right about having looked worse coming out of a fight." Jane replied.

'She'll be fine. Had she gotten hurt I would have tortured...damn it, calm down. She isn't yours. Damn, no, I'll keep a closer watch on Jane and tom's relationship. If it starts falling apart, I'll make sure that Daria is unavailable to Slone.' he thought and relaxed as Jane started cleaning his cuts. It wasn't good to be tense when rubbing alcohol was being used to clean cuts. He made a mental note to make sure to start working on fixing the car. Having the glass smashed in the back made was going to cause problems for anyone that was riding in the back seat.
