This takes place post-mordum of the episode. BTW, I still need the setup for the possible kiss scene between Quinn and Tom in One J at a Time. The idea is good, but I'm stuck on its execution. Trent stretched and yawned. he slowly dressed and made his way out of his room. He was still thinking about Daria having to work at that nut stand. He came downstairs and headed for the kitchen to check if there was any food. Shaking his head at the lack of sustenance, he was about to go back to his room and practice when the doorbell rang. He opened it to see...

"Hey Daria," Trent greeted. "I think Janie's still asleep, but I just woke up myself so I'm not too sure about that."

"Well, it's Saturday so I'm not surprised Jane's still asleep." Daria replied and Trent beckoned her to come in. She did so and Trent closed the door behind her.

"Uh look, I'm sorry for dropping in on you at your job. I never would have gone to that nut stand if I'd known you were working there. I know I wouldn't want anyone that I knew to see me in a job like that." Trent said. "I was hungry and needed food."

"I appreciate that, but it wasn't your fault, you didn't know." Daria offered.

"I should have been clued in when I started smelling peanuts around here. Y'know food is scarce around here. I guess I thought Janie was doing some art thing with peanuts."

"It's ok, while the peanut smell was a clue, it didn't mean that I was working at a nut stand. That conclusion would have been a leap of faith for you."

"Why were you working there anyway?"
"My mother wanted me to improve on my people's skills. But, it was my father that actually got me that stupid job in the first place." she finished and winced a little. Trent caught that.

"Ok?" he asked and Daria flushed a little.

"I can't be on my feet like I was trying to sell those damn nuts. My back starts to protest."

"Seen a doctor about that?" Trent asked.

"It's my lack of height and my..." Daria began and stopped realizing what she was about to say. 'Damn it damn it damn it! Why do I get so comfortable around him that I start telling something like that!?' she ranted in her mind.

"I gotcha," Trent said with a grin. "I dated a girl back in high school who didn't have height for her assets." Trent continued and got behind her. She was about to asked what he was doing but a loud pop from her back sounded, she winced, then felt relief that she hadn't felt for some time.

"How did you...?"

"I found I've got a gift for it. I'd continue, but I think Jane's up. I don't think you want to be caught in that position with me if you don't want Janie teasing you." Trent said.

"Yeah, I'd never hear the end of it, but whenever she's out running, I may need your special services." she said and headed upstairs.

"And I'll be glad to give them to you." he quietly said and started a fit of coughing laughter. Getting back under control, he headed up for his room to practice. They had a gig tonight and he at least wanted to be ready for it.
