Another repeat, but a little different, once again.

"I'm desperate here, can you help? I'd get rid of her myself, but she isn't like grandmother Ruth." Daria implored over the phone to her aunt.
"There is the possibility that I may make things worse..." she began. What Daria couldn't see through the phone was Amy rubbing her swollen belly.
"They've driven my dad out of the house and Quinn is acting very strangely, even for her."
"Hmmmm, ok, I'll be there." Amy relented and hung up. "Well, looks like we're going on a little trip. I better message your daddy to make sure he doesn't tear across the state looking for me." Amy said and pulled out her phone.

"Uh, Daria, don't you think Amy looks like...she's gained weight since the wedding?" Quinn asked after Daria had filled Amy in on what was going on. Daria bit her lip. It was no wonder why her aunt had been so hesitant on coming.
"Quinn, she's not fat, she's pregnant."
"She's going to have a baby?" Quinn asked shocked.
"Yes. I am going down there and see if the disaster Amy predicted will come to pass or not."

As the other two sisters argued about cookie making, Amy had quietly come into the kitchen and had sat down at th4e table and had propped her legs in a second chair. Seeing her opening she smirked.
"Helen, you're using salt instead of sugar." Amy said and Helen turned to see Amy sitting at the kitchen table.
"Amy, what are you doing here?" Helen asked now noticing that indeed she had mixed up the salt and sugar.
"Well, Daria told me that you and Rita were once again showing her and Quinn how not to be sisters, so I decided to see if you two were going to kill each other finally or not." Amy replied evenly.
"Amy," Helen said laughing off her sisters comment.
"You look a little bloated, Amy." Rita snipped.
"Hmmmm, well now, I thought you would recognize my condition, although, you've suffered through this once while Helen has braved it twice." Amy said with a smirk. Rita didn't get it, but Helen realized it quickly.
"What are you talking about? What condition!?" Rita cried.
"Rita, she's eating for two now." Helen said.
"Eating for...you mean your going to have a baby?" Rita asked disbelievingly.
"Well, at least I didn't have to spell it out for you." Amy quipped with a smirk.
"And just who is the father, or did you go to a sperm bank?" Rita asked.
"I met him three weeks after Erin's wedding. Poor boy suffered with the death of his first..." Amy began. "He was the one that took that picture of me when I took my vacation in Hawaii, Helen." she continued.
"No wonder you were able to see the camera...who is he?" Helen asked.
"Daric Lynn. Talent scout for several record companies. He's 25." she added casually.
"25, are you serious!?" Helen exploded.
"He's old enough to be your son!" Rita exploded.
"Well, we do roll play on occasion where I am his mother...Amy began but Rita let out a frustrated scream, and within the span of five minutes, Rita left. "Score one for the good guys." Amy said after Rita's car pulled out of the driveway.
"Ok, I can believe that you're pregnant, but the roll playing?"
"It was the only way to get rid of her. Now, I better go. If I leave now I can beat..."
"Wait..."
"Hmmm?"
"I need to ask you something...well, I need your advise."
"Well, there is always first time for everything."
"It's about Daria and Tom."
"Look, if you think you're going to pull any information..."
"No, I don't want you to break any confidences. It's...well...even though Jake got along with Tom, eventually we are going to have to meet the Slones. They are the oldest money in this town. Jake might just feel a little put out and the Slones...they will quickly figure out that we're upper middle class and nowhere near their tax bracket."
"You're worried that if this relationship goes further then there might be problems down the road?"
"That's the real reason I'm a little paranoid about those two being alone." Helen said not knowing that Daria was still listening in.
"She'll take the right precautions..."
"Condoms break, and the pill isn't fool proof."
"I know that from first hand experience, but you know us Barksdales, we can be quite fertile at times."
"And if Daria gets pregnant, Tom's father might step in and I'm not enough of a lawyer to stop the army of lawyers that he'll set loose on us if that happens. The Slones are powerful around here."
"Old money can throw its weight around when it wants to."
"Sometimes...I don't know...maybe it would have been better if she had dated Trent."
"Trent?"
"She didn't tell you?" Helen asked shocked.
"Nope."
"Well, she didn't have to tell me directly, but when Jane and her older brother stayed here for a couple of days I was able to pick up on her odd behavior around him. It quickly dawned on me that she was crushing on him. Jake took to him since Trent will eat anything. I know that when she got with Tom, Tom was with Jane at the time, but Trent was so much of a slacker."
"And you thought she could do better?"
"That's what I thought, but I didn't want her to get with someone who had been involved with her best friend. that whole situation could have turned out worse than it did. Anyway, she at times can be a bit of a slacker as well. I didn't want Trent influencing her like that."
"That's understandable." Amy said.
"I just didn't want Trent bringing her down."
"I guess I'll be just as paranoid when mine is at that age." Amy said wistfully.
"Amy, are you sure you can handle having a child at your age?" Helen asked and Amy transformed.
"I think my werecat form will be able to help me with that." she replied. by the point Daria had retreated up to her room so she didn't see her aunt's transformation.
"That's another thing..." Helen said putting her hand to her forehead.
"You haven't told her yet?"
"I thought it was your responsibility."
"You are her mother and a carrier of the curse. You have the right first." Amy explained and Helen groaned in frustration.
"Ok, whenever I can get around to it I'll tell her." Helen relented, but of course, she would forget later on and wouldn't tell her eldest about that.

"Ok, something eating at your soul?" Jane questioned while painting.
"After Amy got rid of aunt Rita, she and my mother had a talk...about me and Tom."
"Uh oh, that couldn't have ended well."
"Jane, did you ever feel uncomfortable going over there? I mean, did you feel like the little peasant girl that was having the secret affair with the prince and if the prince's father found out you'd be put under a guillotine?"
"Never saw his father...although from what I did gather he was more of a work-a-holic than your mother is." Jane commented.
"Great...and that leads me to why my mother tried to make sure she's around when Tom's at my house. She doesn't want us...well..."
"Horizontal dance of life?" Jane offered with a smirk and Daria nodded. She sighed and walked over to the window.
"His parents aren't going to like mine whenever they meet. My father has always had an inferiority complex when he meets people that are more successful than him."
"That's where your inferiority complex comes from?"
Daria bit her lip and looked out at the fool moon. "Yeah,"
Jane continued to paint in silence for a moment until the hairs on the back of her neck stood on end. She turned and saw that the mane of auburn hair looked thicker than usually, but what really struck was the feline like tail sticking out. Jane was about to say something, but stopped and smacked the side of her head thinking that the paint fumes were getting to her. She turned to look again and the tail was still there. She went over to her friend and gently touched the tail.
"Extra appendage?" Jane joked. Daria turned her head and saw what Jane was talking.
"Gah!" she shouted and Jane shook her head in amusement.
"First holidays visit this forsaken town, then we all sing during a hurricane, and now this. What, is Lawndale a circle of hell?" Jane asked.
"Jane?"
"I think I know what this is, but Trent will be able to answer this better than I could. I'll go get get him."

"Hmmm, werecat." Trent commented.
"That's what I thought, but you were the one to teach me these strange things and you learned them from some crazy member of our family."
"Ok, but how am I like this?" Daria asked.
"Curse, it's the only way you can be like this." Trent answered.
"Is there a way to remove it?" she asked.
"Not unless you can find the original caster." Trent answered. "Odds are this is a family curse and probably an old one."
"Why am I not killing...?"
"You recognize our scents, plus, you've still got your mind." Trent replied Daria sighed.
"I need to use your phone, Jane. Amy will be able to answered this." Daria said and Jane nodded. 'Damn it, quit thinking about fucking Trent!' she thought heatedly. The thoughts didn't leave her alone until she was able to transform back with her aunt's help. With this family curse, maybe it was time to gently end it with Tom.
