Here's another short one. BTW, I've cleaned up the other one-shots in this collection so take a second look at them and see if I've corrected them, or if they read better. Also, the author has gotten the box set, so more shipper goodness will soon follow.

"I guess you want to know what your mother was like when she was a child?" Amy asked.

"Well, what was she like?" Daria asked.

"A tightly wound pain in the ass."

"New topic?"

"Shoot."

Daria looked thoughtful for a moment. She didn't know if she should talk about this, but the situation was just annoying her to no end.

"How do you deal with a guy that is making you act stupid?"

Amy was slightly taken aback by the question.

"Hmmm, a member of the male species is making you stupid huh?" Amy said after recovering.

"It's my best friend's brother...every single time I'm around him I lose the ability to think straight nor speak."

"How much older is he?"

"Five years older..."

"Good, that ought to drive your mother nuts." Amy said with a smirk.

"I don't want to date him just so I can rub my mother the wrong way..." Daria began, but still wore a ghost of her aunt's smile thinking about how her mother would be driven mad by the prospect.

"No, but let that be a motivation. Besides, I'm assuming there's certain character flaws that might stop you?"

"Sleeps through most of the day, is in a band, is oblivious to everything around him a lot of the time...

"Ah, but you're not marrying him. So, just try to see if he isn't so oblivious to the point that you can't possibly date him. Plus, don't let your mind wander off to the future where he's bald and you're working overtime to take care of your love child."

"I just don't want him rejecting me because of my age or..."

"Or the fact that you don't flash the goods like your sister or my sister does?" Amy finished and Daria nodded. Amy continued, "If he's as oblivious as you say he is, then he won't notice what you're really wearing, unless, he sees you naked of course." Daria flushed from that comment.

"I don't plan on being naked, unless, Jane starts a nude phase."

"Well, I guess no one killed each other back at the reception," Amy said staring down at her phone, "C'mon, let's go check the postmortem situation." she said and the two left.
