The predicate guard were on another side of the city fighting their own battles. Gladiator had come to the conclusion that Caelum wasn't leader material and the head of the guard would lead his troops into battle without being barked by the X weapon.
"They just keep coming!" Quick Strike shouts.
"I'm almost out of ammunition!" Sniper says blasting back another half dozen soldiers.
"Guard...!" Gladiator begins but an explosion of black and gold stops all the fighting. Everyone turns towards the direction of the explosion to see two spheres, one black and one gold, in the air. "The princess has returned! Push this scum back!" Gladiator orders. The news that their princess was back seems to reinvigorate the guard and they continue to repel the soldiers before them.

"This is not the proper stratagem that you would have used. You should be fighting my empress." 2X² calmly states.
"My love wanted to 'discuss' things with your empress." MathWiz growls. "You could have stopped this madness. Instead of trying to pull from her darkness that Two Brains introduced her to, you became a conqueror just like the rest of our race!" he shouts as the gold aura pushes against the black one.
"You forget, the genetic code used to create us makes us obey a higher ranked officer, but the Root didn't specify what race that female officer could be." 2X² lectures.
"So you obeyed her dark desires?" MathWiz asks in disbelief. If this were true, then it was very fortunate that Becky had been found by the Botsfords.
"I obey her, no matter what her desires are." 2X² retorts and the pair continue to attack each other.

'Is this what I might have become?' Becky thinks as she and Zaniah were in a test of strength. "I can't believe you turned out so bad." WordGirl growls.
"I think I turned out better than you." Zaniah spits back.
"I know my consort's heart and he would have never followed me if I were like you!"
"Hah! Men are easily manipulated, and you do know the definition of 'manipulation don't you?" Zaniah quips.
"I most certainly do!" WordGirl shouts back as she tries to overpower her evil counterpart.
"I had thought that I would have to seduce some hapless human, but my Decimalian consort came to my city and I found the one I wanted to lay with."
"You don't love him. You just lust after him, and you do know what lust means don't you?" WordGirl asks throwing Zaniah's question back at her.
"Ahhh!" Zaniah shouts and throws a punch which misses.

The ones that were watching the battle were awe struck or scared. Most of the ring had never seen Team Alphanumeric use the heart of Knowledge. Caelum smirks confidently. They would win. He then feels a kick to the back of the head and the original X weapon goes flying. The blond quickly gets back to his feet to see his counterpart.
"Miss me?" X² asks.
"Hardly." Caelum dryly retorts.
"Y'know, you've been acting mor4e and more like your old self. Face it, you'd rather be helping us take this dimension. Join us and serve my empress." X² states. Caelum bites his lip. For a moment, the offer seemed tempting, but knowing that most likely X² would stab him in the back Caelum responds with a kick of his own.
"I have no master!" Caelum shouts.
"You follow that Lexiconian posing as a super hero. You even pose as one yourself. Why continue to defend a world full of nothing but slaves for our empire?" X² asks.
"Shut up! Why don't you fucking shut up!" Caelum shouts and attacks.

"You're taking advantage of his willingness to serve you! I would never do that!" WordGirl shouts.
"Face it, you enjoy the fact that he's submissive to you. You need to dominate him. He's a Decimalian that is willing to serve a female Lexiconian. What female Lexiconian wouldn't want a Decimalian slave?"
"Shut up!" WordGirl shouts and her attacks become frantic with her anger. As the fight drugged on, both the gold and black auras start fading slowly. Soon, both lost their powered up states and the four where all on one knee panting. Zaniah's communicator goes off.
"This...,better...,be..,good!" Zaniah shouts.
"A combined Lexicon Decimal fleet has just entered the solar system!" the com-officer reports.
"Damn! Brings us up and prepare the fleet!" she shouts and all the foot soldiers vanish along with the X weapons and Zaniah's consort.
"We're still equal...,I don't know how to get the advantage over them." MathWiz states.

"Before you start," Caelum begins after they had return to Tubing's lab, "I'm not leader. That is clear as crystal. I can't handle fighting off an invasion force that large. I was stressed and the two of you were the closet targets." Caelum says turning to Tobey and Violet.
"Uh, I think we had some fault in that as well. we should have talked the moment Tracie's suit became apart of our arsenal." Tobey states.
"Either way, I apologize. And that is a hard thing for me to do. Maybe, after this is over I might need to consider leaving. All I am right now to Decimal is an useless observer." Caelum states. WordGirl and MathWiz bit their lips. This was coming out of left field. It was Carina, however, that didn't like this news. She throws herself at Caelum holding to the blond's neck.
"Please, don't go uncle Caelum." she begs hugging him tightly.
"Kid," he sighs and wraps his arms around the child, "you sure you want me to stay?"
"I don't want you leave." she sniffles.
"Alright, I'll stay." Caelum says and Carina hugs him tighter.

"Why didn't you say anything to me?" Emma asks. The four were now in the well protected basement area of city hall. The Botsfords and Drakesfords were having a reunion celebration. Caelum was sitting off in a corner thinking.
"It only occurred to me after I had a chance to cool down. By that time, we were in another battle. I don't know if I'm of any use after this. Those two can handle the ring by themselves. But, Carina, that kid gets to me. Can we actually continue to stay on this planet?"
"Yes," Emma simply answers sitting in Caelum's lap. "I think we need to make our relationship permanent here and on Decimal. We don't have to have the ceremony those two had." she continues and cuddles against her blond soldier. He holds her and rubs his face in her hair. Emma was his rock and he would hold on to that rock for as long as he could.
