A Private Ceremony

Earth's got strange ideas about these weddings." Caelum comments. "You can't see your woman 24 hours before the wedding...,what sort of non-sense is that?"
"It's a very old superstition." Tim states.
"Man, she has rubbed off on you." Caelum comments. The two were sharing a room in professor Tubing's lab. The third, Tobies, was in the shower. "Here," Caelum says handing Tim a silver disk, "I had the ones that went through the Root's computer archives find this. I think you deserve to hear it."
"What is it?" Tim asks taking the disk and putting it into his portable player. He puts on the ear buds and listens.
My son, if you're hearing this then I've been found out by the root and they have dealt with me in a not so pleasant manner. I don't want my child growing up to just have one purpose in life. I knew when I had joined the Root that I was committing myself to Decimal's future. I believed that we were the superior race and that Lexicon shouldn't exist. Those beliefs lead me to volunteer for the X weapon project. the first had been labeled unstable and couldn't be counted on. So, they decided instead of a complete test tube baby, the Root would artificially impregnate a Decimalian female that was apart of the Root. I passed all the tests and you were conceived. However, the Root never counted maternal instincts to win out over what was good for Decimal. That's why I'm sending you away from this war. Hopefully you can find a different destiny on another planet. Earth is just backwater enough to be a world they won't look for you Hopefully, you can find a better life there. I love you, my son.
The disk stops and Tim tries to keep his tears at bay.
"I thought all records of my mother were destroyed." Tim states quietly.
"The Root keep secure backs of everything so that later leaders of the Root wouldn't make the same mistakes twice. There are also her service records and her biography on that thing. I am glad that one of our mothers was an honorable woman." Caelum comments.
"You don't know how much this means to me."
"Don't get all emotional on me. You need to save that for your wife." Caelum says as Tobey comes into the room The human genius realizes quickly that he had missed a significant moment.
"What I miss?" Tobey asks.
"Found records of his biological mother. I'm Jealous." Caelum comments.
"Whoa, I'm guessing that she's not like the huntress." Tobey says.
"Nothing like that bitch. Not, gentlemen, we've got a wedding in the morning, so we better get sleep." Caelum comments.
"Like the girls are going to get any sleep. Knowing them, they'll be up all night talking." Tobey comments.

"I didn't think that Caelum could do something that thoughtful." Becky comments. She, Violet, Emma, and Carina were all in Becky's room talking as Tobey deduced.
"He's soften since you first meet him. I think having to live on this planet and help people has helped him grow." Emma states.
"And a little help from a good woman." Violet comments.
"When are you due?" Becky asks.
"Within the next three weeks." Violet answers.
"You certainly put a fight in not wearing those shoes with the high heel on them." Emma comments.
"There are just certain things I won't wear and that's high heels. They kill my feet and no matter if I get a four hour foot rub from Tim I'm not wearing them." Becky firmly explains.
"So, when are you and Caelum going to tie the knot and have a kid?" Violet asks and Emma turns slightly pink.
"Caelum doesn't want a public ceremony. I think he wants to go back to Decimal and get married there. I'll have to convince him to have one on Earth." Emma explains. "As for having children...,he has warmed up to that idea yet."
"Will you and uncle Caelum have to leave?" Carina asks her eyes getting big.
"I doubt he'll be able to stay away from you, Carina." Emma explains smiling.
"We better go to bed before mom finds out we're still awake." Becky states and turns off the light.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the groom is here." Caelum announced as the three boys walk to the front of the church. "Hey, it's a monkey in a monkey suit." he jokes at Huggy. The monkey makes a sound and the blond rolls his eyes.
"Violet aright?" Tobey asks and Huggy gives the thumbs and Tobey relaxes.
"Paranoid future are we?" Caelum asks.
"Hey, you try being calm while your having your first child." Tobey retorts back. The four head inside. It had been agreed upon that both Huggy and Caelum would be co-best men.

"I now present to you, Mr. and Mrs. Tim Drakesford." the pastor states to the small gathering. Tim was elated, but he knew that there was still one ceremony left, but that was for their alter egos. Becky had never looked more beautiful to him when she walked down the isle.

"No no no! If I've told you once I told you a thousand times before, we attack when those two leave on their honeymoon." Mr. Big states.
"You are just trying to take Two Brains side, Mr. Big." Granny Mae bites back.
"Going after them during their wedding will only make them mad. Plus, Tobey will probably have his robots all over the place. He might even have a robotic cat!" Two Brains shouts.
"We're going and that's final." Granny Mae says and Mr. Big sighs dejectedly. This wasn't going to end well for them.
