'I can't remember the last time a girl I knew encouraged me like that.' Trent ponders as he continues to strum his guitar. 'She hasn't had a good time of it yet. I knew I should have cleaned out the back of the van before we left.' He doesn't notice that he starts to play Nothing Else Matters(1). Not wanting to stop, he keeps playing. He then sees the smallest of smiles come across her face while he continues to play the song.
"Enjoy that?" he asks.
"They always do things their way." Daria states.
"That's true. Although, if there's a sound you are going to copy that a good sound to try and copy." Trent muses. "Think they got lost in that corn field?"
"Maybe a mutant scarecrow got ahold of them." Daria quips and Trent laughs.
"Nah, knowing Janie, she's probably playing tonsil hockey with Jessie." Trent says now looking into the corn field.
"Those two...,"
"Yeah. I've learned though not to get involved in Janie's love life unless the guy hurts her. Otherwise, if I were to get between those two Janie would just go behind my back anyway." he sighs needing to change the subject from his sister and his best friend making out in the middle of a corn field. "What is someone as smart as you doing in a crappy high school like Lawndale?"
"I'm guessing it was just as bad at LHS as it is now when you went there?" she asks.
"Yeah. LI ran the place like a prison when she became principal. All she cares about is having the spotlight on her school for a good reason. Tommy Sherman made that even more obvious."
"Who's Tommy Sherman?"
"QB that led the school to state. Guy liked crashing into goal posts every time he would run for a touchdown."
"You went to their games?"
"Jess kept dragging me to them just he could laugh at Sherman every time he smash his head against the post."
"Jessie enjoyed the jock hurting hi9mself them."
"Sherman and Jessie have had a fight going on ever sense I can remember. I don't know why and he won't tell me." Trent replies standing up and stretching. "C'mon, let's go find them." he says offering his hand to help her up which she takes. The moment skin touches skin, she blushes and tries to keep her face from his line of sight. Trent doesn't let go though as the two enter the field of corn in order to find Jane and Jessie.

"See anything?" Jessie asks as Jane was on his shoulders look over the top of the brick wall.
"Nope, just a lot of nothing. We're not going to find help here." Jane states and Jessie puts her back down on her feet.
"Uh, what do we do now?" Jessie asks.
"Now," Jane starts and presses him against the brick wall and kisses him, "we do that."

Trent, with Daria in tow, make their way through the corn field. He still had her by the hand in case she were to trip. That would probably had happened if she were left to walk on her own. However, her thoughts were far from the corn field they were walking through.
'Why do I get so flustered around him? He's just a guy. I don't want to turn into my sister.'
"Hey, did you hear that?" Trent asks stopping to see if he could hear the sound again. Daria quickly picks up the sound of a couple making out.
"I think it's coming from that way." Daria points out and the two follow the sound to where they see Jane and Jessie making out. Trent clears his throat loudly and the two spring apart.
"I'm guessing you didn't find any help?" Trent asks.
"Nope, just a bunch of corn and it wasn't that helpful." Jane answers.
"Hey, Helpful Corn is a good name for a band." Jessie comments and Trent rolls his eyes.
"Hey Janie, you think that glue gun could fix that hose?" Trent's.
"Hmmm, I think it should do the trick." Jane comments. 'I wish I could glue you and Daria together.' she muses and the four head back to the broke down van.
