Chapter 12- The end of Violet.
Disclaimer- I do not own The Incredible's, it is a Disney/ Pixar animation motion picture.
Vanisher pulled up the zip of Psychewave's suit. Slowly encasing his muscular chest. Once the zip reached his neck she leaned forward and pecked him on the lips.
"Fantastic my love." She whispered to him. "Simply fantastic."
He smiled and hugged her tightly.
"Thank you, you were amazing too my dear."
Vanisher leaned in to kiss him again but there was a knock at the door and Psychewave sighed deeply.
"That'll be shifter, I sent him on a little errand." He looked to the door. "Come in."
The door opened and a boy stepped in. He was about twelve years old, brown eyes, short strawberry blond hair and dressed in a red suit with a black S on the chest. His mask, similar to Vanisher's, was stuck on his face and he had three cardboard tubes under one arm and a brown folder in his hand.
Shifter in his human form, Vanisher had never seen it before. Cute kid. But that was all he was, just a kid. Only a few years older than her brother Da… What was her brothers name? After a second she decided that it didn't matter, the brother belonged to her old, weak life, not her new strong one.
********************
Tony Rydinger was on his way home. He had books in one arm and a girl on the other.
The girls name was Marie Preston, she had long brown hair, bright hazel eyes, a sweet nature, was adequately gifted in the chest area, a C-cup. And, something Tony considered a bonus, no super powers.
They were going to his house to study for a history exam. They really were going to study, but both of them were aware of how one thing had a habit of leading to another and wouldn't mind if it did.
"Tony" A young boys voice called out.
Tony and Marie turned and only Tony recognised who it was.
Dash was walking toward them and Tony was shocked by his appearance. He was sporting quite a shiner that actually spread over half his left cheek. His face ad bare arms were dotted with scrapes and cuts. Tony turned to Marie.
"This is the little brother of a friend of mine. Can we have just a minute?"
Marie nodded and moved out of earshot. Tony turned his attention back to Dash.
"What happened to you Dash? You loo like you've been thrown through a window."
"Against a brick wall actually." Dash said with total seriousness. "I want to talk, it's about Violet."
Tony began to turn away, but Dash grabbed his arm.
"Please." Dash begged, Tony shook his head.
"No, Don't you get it? I can't. I love Violet, but I can't go back to her. I can't take it. Whenever she put on that mask I would get sick to my stomach with worry. Worry that she would get hurt, or worse, killed. I would lie in awake wondering if she was going to come back to me at all. Tell her I'm sorry, but I can't go back to that." He began to turn away again.
"I would, but Violets gone." Dash said solemnly. Tony froze in his tracks and looked at Dash, the colour draining from his face.
"She's...she's...she's..." Tony couldn't say it, he couldn't say 'dead' Luckily Dash knew what he was trying to say.
"No, nothing like that. Violet is alive." Dash decided to talk faster as Tony looked ready to drop kick him.
"Violet has become Vanisher full time. And Vanisher has become a villain."
Tony turned, if possible, even paler. He shook his head.
"No, that's not true. You're lying. Violet would never do that."
Dash nodded,
"I know. But she's teamed up with this guy named Psychewave, who has mind control powers.
"Dash, I don't see-"
"I think she's decided to stop being Violet because Psychewave has used his powers to convince her there's no point to living Violet's life. I think she'll become herself again if she can see there's something, or someone, worth coming back to."
Tony looked down at the floor, no longer ale to meet Dash's gaze.
"No Dash. I can't" He glanced over his shoulder and looked at Marie briefly.
"But-" Dash began, but Tony interrupted him.
"No Dash, I meant what I said. I love Vi' but I can't spend make myself sick worrying about her. But I'm not going to lie to her either. I won't pretend to love her and then leave her when she's Violet again. That'll just push her further past whatever line she's crossed. I've moved on."
He glanced back to Marie and nodded his head.
"I hope you get her back, but I'm not a super. I can't help you." He walked off before Dash could say another word and held onto Marie's hand as they continued on down the street. Dash stared at him angrily.
"YOU REALLY SUCK." He yelled at Tony's back.

Psychewave opened one of the cardboard tubes and pulled out a large roll of paper, which he spread out, on the table. They appeared to be blueprints of a building and Vanisher could see, even with her limited knowledge of reading blueprints, it was quite a formidable place to get into.
"What's the job?" Se asked.
"These are the building plans of a government base a few miles outside the city. We're going to take what's in storage house 12." Psychewave said, looking at the plans.
"And what is in storage house 12?" Vanisher inquired. Psychewave looked at her and smiled.
"The greatest robot never built. One of syndromes robots, designed but never built, by him at least. Very similar to the omnidroid, only much smaller, about the size of a human. He didn't use it because, being so small, it wouldn't pack a lot firepower."
"And you know all this how?" asked Vanisher, unable to stop herself being so suspicious of Psychewave being so knowledgeable. Psychewave pointed to the other tubes and files which shifter ha brought with him.
"Shifter went to the city's administration offices and 'borrowed' a few things."
"And what will we be doing once we have this micro-sized omnidroid" She asked, taking a seat on the sofa. Psychewave rested his hands on his hips, he liked her attitude.
"We are going to pay a visit to the mayor. With you on our side we can afford to step our plans forward a little bit. We'll take city hall and the city will be ours. Then the age of supers in charge will begin."
**************************
Dash trudged home miserably, too depressed to charge around like he usually did.
He walked through the door and called out half-heatedly to let his parents know he was home. He moved through the house to his little brothers' room Jack-jack was asleep in his crib. Dash looked down at the baby.
"You're lucky." He whispered. "You're not old enough to worry about this stuff. I bet you don't even know Violet's gone." He sighed and went to the living room. His mum and dad were dressed in their super suits and looking through the draws and cupboards.
"I'm sure I put it here somewhere." His mother growled.
"We could always call Edna for another?" Suggested Bob. Helen's looks told him what she thought of that suggestion.
"I can't handle Edna right now. She's still gloating about how she knew more than me over the new suits and the other business."
Bob sighed and nodded, then broke into a smile as he pulled open a cupboard.
"Found it." He said triumphantly. He held up a small red box with several small black buttons and a small blank screen.
"What is that?" Asked Dash.
His parents jumped as though he had just popped into place out of thin air. Bob and Helen exchanged a look, and Helen decided to explain.
"It's a tracker. You see Dash, all of our suits have a homing device sewn into them. Edna thought it would be useful. We're going to use it to find Violet and bring her home."
Dash wanted to know why he hadn't been told about the homing device before, but there were more pressing matters at the moment.
"Excellent. I'll grab my suit." He turned to race for his room.
"Actually Dash." Called his dad. Dash froze and turned to face his dad.
"Because you're still hurt, your mother and I thought it might be best if you sit this one out."
There was only one word for the look on Dash's face, betrayal. He would have to stay at home while his mum and dad went off to do what could possibly be the most important thing for their family since syndrome brought them together.
"Kari will be over in a few minutes to look after you and Jack-Jack. Please behave yourself, she's the only person we could get at such short notice and she only got out of therapy last week."
Dash nodded obediently.
"After what she went through with Jack-jack I thought she'd be seeing the shrink a little while longer." Bob commented as he and Helen walked off toward the garage. A few seconds later Dash heard the car leaving.
**************************
Helen activated the tracker. The red box beeped and a picture of a globe appeared on the screen.
"And Violet is..." Helen said as she pressed the tracing button.
*************************
The bases so-called defences held no resistance to the gang of supers.
Vanisher stood close to Psychewave and Shifter, in his human form and held a shield around them all. Combined with Psychewave's telekinetic powers, they were floating ten feet above the ground in a shell the guard's bullets were powerless to penetrate. Shifter growled down at the shouting soldiers below, but being in a human form, the growl didn't sound quite as threatening.
"Let me down there. I can handle them." He said to Psychewave. Psychewave shook his head.
"No, straight in and out this time. The more people we hurt unnecessarily, the harder it will be to get the public the come around to our way of thinking."
Shifter sulked but said nothing else.
With all the alarms blaring, soldiers shouting and guns firing, no one noticed a spot in the middle of Vanisher's suit start to flash a beep.
A large grey metal building with a number 12 painted on it in black loomed ahead.
"At last." Said Psychewave. He raised a hand and pointed his palm to the door. The metal creaked loudly in protest as it began to bend. With a mighty crash and a flurry of sparks the doors flew into the building.
Psychewave landed the gang and rolled them into the building. Vanisher dropped the force field around them and put another one around the space where the doors used to be, blocking the only entrance.
The room was full of boxes, but only one looked large enough to hold something the size of the omnidroid-micro. Psychewave's name for it. This box was also the only one to be labelled in large red letters *DANGEROUS CONTENTS. AUTHORIZED PERSONEL ONLY*
With a flick of his wrist Psychewave sent the box lid flying, the rest of the crate fell apart and a flood of packing peanuts spread across the floor.
Imagine a cat skeleton and you would have a good idea of how the robot looked. One single camera lens in the middle of its head. It sat on its four 'paws' but looked capable of standing on two legs for attacking. On the floor between its feet was something Vanisher recognised; it was an exact replica of syndromes remote.
"It's ours." Shifter said triumphantly. Psychewave nodded and knelt down by the robots side.
"Almost." He muttered to himself. He leaned in close and smiled and the robots front left leg. Psychewave pulled a screwdriver from a pocket of his suit and pried open a small compartment. Inside was a small red ball, which was gently blinking with a white light.
"Tracer." He said tossing the ball across the room. "Just like the mantis droid."
"You sent that robot to attack the city?" Vanisher asked disgusted. She hadn't been a part of that fight, she remembered watching it n the news, she had been busy at the time with...what had she been doing?
Psychewave interrupted her train of thought.
"We had to. We needed to see if A) we could successfully steal a robot and B) what the response would be to a giant robot smashing through the city. We reached the conclusion that smaller is better." He patted the robots metal hide and took the remote from the floor.
"I'll program it to head home, it's A.I. will handle the rest then all we have to do is concentrate on getting out of here." He tapped, apparently at random, at the buttons on the control.
The black lens eye glowed bright green and with a quiet whirring of gears and cogs the robot sprung to life. It reared up on two legs and looked around the room.
"Analysing the area." Said Psychewave. "Trying to find a way out."
"I'd better open the door." Said Vanisher.
Before she could do anything however, there was a deafening explosive noise and a large section of the right wall collapsed.
Mr. Incredible coughed loudly and stepped inside Elastagirl by his side.
"Violet." He said, looking at his daughter, and then noticing her companions and their new toy.
"What have you done?" Elastagirl said in a shocked tone.
Vanisher turned to Psychewave and shifter.
"Go. I'll handle them." Then she faced her parents. "I knew this would happen sooner or later."
The shield over the door dropped and the omnidroid dropped onto all fours and raced out. Psychewave and shifter were close behind it. Bob and Helen let them go, Violet was their first priority.
"Violet." Helen began. Vanisher scowled and shimmered out of sight.
"Violets gone..." Came her voice from the left.
"She couldn't cut it..." From the right. Helen stretched out her arm and grabbed at random bits of air, missing Vanisher completely.
"There is only Vanisher now." Came the disembodied voice from behind her mother.
Helen fell to the floor as a foot kicked her hard in her back. Before Bob could react Vanisher shimmered back into sight, grabbed metal pole and swung it across the side of Elastagirl's head. Helen fell unconscious, a trickle of blood running down her right temple.
Bob looked on in horror as his daughter tossed the pole to the ground and turned to face him.
"What are you going to do muscles? You got what it takes?" She said coldly. Bob shook his head gently.
"Why are you doing this Violet?"
She growled loudly at him.
"My name is not Violet. I am Vanisher and I am doing what needs to be done."
"Hurting innocent people?" Bob yelled. Vanisher screamed.
"Look around, no one here has been hurt. Except her." She pointed to the unconscious Helen.
"The weak need someone strong to lead them, it's the only way to become strong." Vanisher said with authority, like a soldier commanding their troops.
"But that's not we're for. We're supposed to help people, not rule them."
Vanisher laughed coldly.
"You don't see do you?" She said in a venomous voice. "By ruling, we are helping." She shimmered out of sight.
"Violet please. Come home." Bob begged at thin air.
A foot landed on his stomach and he fell back gasping for air.
"If you can't see how what we are doing is good, then you're a weak old fool with no ambition."
Bob fell back as an invisible fist punched his face.
"Your time has passed old man. The age when supers were servants is over. It's our time now, when supers become the masters."
Bob staggered against the wall as Vanisher punched him again. Something warm ran down his chin. He wiped it. blood, his blood! He could be hit by a train and not have a bruise, but his own daughter had made hims bleed.
"I don't want to hurt you." He said, trying to sound threatening, Vanisher just laughed.
"Still unwilling to do what it takes. That is why you're going to fail."
She kicked him in the stomach and he doubled over gasping for air. Vanisher shimmered back into sight. Bob stared in horror; this was not his little girl. He couldn't see Violet anywhere in the person before him. She had been right, she wasn't Violet, only Vanisher.
Vanisher brought up her knee and drove it into Bob's jaw. With a painful grunt he fell to the floor and stayed there. Vanisher looked at him with a satisfied smirk.
"Goodbye Mr. Incredible." She said coldly as she turned away and walked toward the door.
