"That's a long drop." Caelum comments looking down where the river was carving its way through the canyon. 'Mules aren't the most comfortable of beasts of burden to ride.' Caelum muses. 'Poor little Carina, she's got to be kept strapped to her mother's back.' he continues to muse.
"I'm glad you didn't get it in your head to hike this trail with the kids." sally says to her husband.
"I'm a good hiker, but I'm not that good. Besides, it would take all day on foot and the trail is more rugged than the cavern." Tim Botsford states.
"Probably would have gotten lost as well." Tobey quietly comments to himself.
"Mama!" Carina complains.
"No, I know what you'll probably do and I'm not going to let you do it." Becky states.
"Daddy!" she says hoping her father would hear her complaint.
"Sorry Carina, I'm on your mother's side." Tim states and Becky smirks. Her Decimalian lover might be a wet blanket when it came to Carina, but he still was obedient to her. A cell phone rings and Claire growls in frustration.
"Mother...,I said three days." Claire begins.
"One would think that your grandmother didn't trust that we were coming." Tobey says to Tim.
"She visited for Thanksgiving last year. Didn't take too kindly to how we raise Carina." Tim states and Huggy pipes up.
"And that old battle axe didn't make a friend out of Huggy." Becky comments.
"Uh, she doesn't approve of the two of you?" Violet asks.
"It's our other life style she doesn't approve of. She believes that we won't be able to support ourselves and that our parents are not forcing us to fend for ourselves." Tim explains.
"At the time we took the proper precautions to make sure I wouldn't get pregnant, but apparently IQ underestimated my Tim's seed." Becky says smirking. Tobey bites his lip. He and Violet had been having unprotected sex as well. She wasn't pregnant yet, but his mother would probably skin him alive if he got her pregnant.
"And just how have the two of you not had a kid yet? You've probably done it more then the rest of us." Tobey asks Caelum and Emma who both smirk.
"That was the advantage of being part of The Root. Once they put back my sexual urges, they also made sure that we had the right genetic precautions. They could do a better job of suppressing the X seed since they were the ones to create us in the first place." Caelum explains.
"Yes, yes! Three days!." Claire says and hangs up. "Oooh! She was a slave driver when I was growing up and still is one to this day!" she rants.

Caelum watches as the fire cooks the roasting hot dog at the end of his spit. His eyes glaze over and his mouth begins to water as he wills the hot dog to cook faster. Emma snickers at him for trying to roast the weeny with his will.
"I see you've taking a liking to roasted hot dogs." Emma comments.
"Mmmm hmmm," he replies not paying to much attention to Emma. Mr. Botsford chuckles at Caelum's behavior. Out all of them, the former X weapon seemingly was enjoying himself more than the rest of them.
"Ah, but wait until he starts digging into the smores." Becky comments and the other teens laugh.
"When he's not in the throws of combat, my Caelum is only obsessed with two things, food and me." Emma jokes.
"Oh, I thought he was just obsessed with himself." Tobey comments.
"No, that's you." Becky quips back.
"Hey! I've not as self centered as I used to be." Tobey defends.
"Yeah, Violet has made sure of that." Becky retorts.
"He just need a little loving." Violet states winking at Tobey who blushes and another round of laughter begins.
"Done!" Mr. Botsford states and in less than five minutes, every weeny that was roasted was devoured either by the teens, one of the adults, or a bottomless pit of a monkey.

Four sleeping bags are arrange near each other under the night sky. Huggy and Carina were fast asleep in one while the couples of Team Alphanumeric lay together in the other three. They were within shouting distance of the adults and TJ, but they probably weren't gong to have any troubles tonight.
"So, how long will the two of you stay on Earth?" Becky asks.
"That's the problem. Before we went on this little jaunt, we tried to get in contact with the home world to see if they wanted us back, but there seems to be something interfering with the transmitter on our end." Emma states.
"I've still haven't been able to figure that out yet." Tim states.
"Uh Caelum, a question,what happened to this Cubed Root?" Tobey asks.
"They were supposedly thrown in prison, but if there were off world members of the Root, they might have busted them out....,shit." Caelum quietly whispers.
"You don't think they could come after us again do you?" Tim asks.
"If they wanted to take back their secret control of the military they do anything to do so." Emma replies.
"Are you guys jumping to conclusions too fast?" Violet asks.
"When it comes to politics of our home worlds, we've learned to prepare for the worst." Becky states and Tim nods.
"Hey, we've gotten past the worst scum that the universe can throw at us. One stupid little covert Decimalian group can't touch us." Caelum states confidently.
"Careful, your inflated head will float away." Emma jokes.
"Oh, you want to laugh do you?" Caelum growls and starts tickling Emma. The other four laugh at their friends' antics. Becky finds herself pulling Tim possessively against her though. She wasn't going to let anyone take her Tim away from her.

"This is where you spent your summers?" Tobey asks looking around. Having only seen pictures of farms in textbooks, the sight of one was almost overwhelming to the robot building genius.
"Well, it took you long enough." Miranda Drakesford states. Tobey got that same feeling that he would get every time he'd gotten into trouble with his own mother. "Now, I think it's time to put these kids to work."
'Ooooh boy, here we go.' Sally Botsford states. This leg of the vacation wouldn't be the most pleasant for any of the kids.
