MaxJ1800: Agreed. Ok, let's see just how far I can take this road trip idea. Doe! I forgot about TJ. Just imagine he's in the background of those last couple of chapters.

'I don't get it! Why is my dad so chipper about this vacation? I guess I need to relax. I think it's the stress of being crammed into an RV with everyone and not having the chance to have any alone time with Tim. We've been on the road for a week and Tobey has so far managed to survive. Myself, Tim, Caelum and Emma have decided not to use our powers unless it is an emergency. The only problem is Carina. She'll want to fly all over the Grand Canyon when we get there.' Becky thinks looking out the window. 'Poor Caelum, he's still rattled by Carina telling him that she loved him. One day he'll be a father.'

Nervousness keeps growing in Tobey as the two walk further and further from the campsite. Violet seemingly was oblivious to the fact that they might be lost. However, getting lost out in the middle of this wilderness wasn't on his things to do list at the moment.
"Uh Violet...,"
"Relax, enjoy all this beauty." Violet states gesturing to their surroundings.
"Uh, but aren't you worried that we might not be able to return to camp?" Tobey asks.
"It'll be alright," Violet states and takes Tobey's hand.
'Oh boy, how can she be so comfortable getting lost? Is the scenery that she doesn't care if we get lost? Is she just that comfortable with the outdoors? I need to learn from her, but keep track of which way we turn, just in case she realizes that we've strayed too far.'

"I didn't no that cave exploration was apart of the Cube Root's training regiment." Tim states as he, Becky, Caelum, Emma, and Mr. Botsford spelunk through a cavern. Emma and Caelum were further down the rocky that they were climbing.
"The Root wanted us to be prepared for any type of environment. Of this cavern is damp and cool, the ones they had me and Emma running and climbing through were hot, arid, and dry." Caelum states reaching the bottom of the rock face.
"Y'know Becky, I'm glad you're athletic...,TJ's a wimp. He'd never come down here with us." Mr. Botsford states. Eventually, the group reaches the bottom of the rock face and they decide to take a little rest.
"Ok, why such an unusual trip?" Becky asks her father.
"We've been so focused on the problems of our city that we've forgotten that there's a wide world out there. Plus, Caelum and Emma haven't seen much of what the Earth offers. Becky had now gotten a glimpse into the strange man that was her father.
"Ok dad, I think I'm beginning to understand, but do we have to see that battle axe known as Granny Drakesford?" she complains.
"Hmmm, We'll do that after the Grand Canyon." her father states.
"Uh dad, I worry about keeping Carina under control in a place like that." Becky states.
"Don't worry, I believe that she'll behave herself." her father states with a smile.

"Ooooh! My mother is such an infuriating person at times!" Claire states after hanging up her cell phone. The two older women along with TJ were going down a marked trail. TJ didn't like it, but it was better than going through a dark, damp cave or following the lovebirds of Tobey and Violet.
"I guess we'll have to stop in for a visit then?" Sally asks.
"She insists on seeing Carina. She even threaten to show up unannounced at the house if we didn't stop by on this trip." Claire fumes.
"I'm just glad my nor my husband's parents haven't shown up. I don't know if they could handle everything." Sally states.
Did your husband do his research this time? He seems to know the location of every camp grounds and nature trail all over the place." Claire says.
"Hmmm, he certainly outdid himself this time. C'mon, it's getting late. We better head on back." Sally says and with a quietly grumbling TJ behind them, they head back for camp.

"Uh Violet, I've tried to let your enthusiasm for nature wash over me, but I think you better look up at the sky." Tobey states. Violet does so and her eyes widen realizing that the sun was setting and that nightfall was coming.
"Uh oh, I think we might be in trouble." Violet comments. Tobey sighs and takes Violet's hand.
"C'mon, let's quickly backtrack and find our way back." Tobey states and the two start to head back the way they had come.

"Ok, is everyone here?" Sally Botsford asks as Tim did a quick head count. The Decimalian checked and re-checked and found that two of their group were missing.
"Uh, I think Violet and Tobey are missing." Tim reports.
"We better go look for them." Mr. Botsford states. "How good at tracking are the two of you?" he asks of Caelum and Emma.
"I'm better at urban tracking, but Emma here for some reason can track anything anywhere.

"Tobey! Violet!"
"Did you hear that?" Violet asks.
"I don't know. I'm so exhausted that I'm hearing things."
"Tobey! Violet!" the voice calls out.
"I think that's Becky's dad." Violet says to Tobey. "We're over here!" she shouts as loud as she could.
"This way, I heard them from this direction!" Emma yells. Five minutes Emma, Mr. Botsford and Caelum find the exhausted pair.
"Why didn't you stick to the marked trails?" Mr. Botsford asks.
"Sorry, I guess I got caught up in in all this beauty." Violet states.
"C'mon, let's get back to camp and get some dinner." Mr. Botsford says and the group heads back to camp.
