He lays beside Emma, spooning her. Caelum couldn't sleep. Usually sleep would come to him after their normal rough sex. Emma rolls over and looks into his eyes.
"What's wrong?" she asks.
"I feel...,inadequate."
"Why?"
"Up until this point, I didn't need to fall back and retreat from a fight or let Tim and Becky handle it. I pride myself on being either the best or one of the best. I've accepted that Tim can beat me, but first Fire and Ice showing up and then Chaos showing his worthless carcass has made me feel outclassed."
"Why haven't you said anything?"
"Pride, plus there's nothing that can be really done. I just wish though I could have a shot at him." Caelum sighs. Emma runs her hand through his blond locks.
"You'll always be the best to me." Emma states.
"Not getting mushy on me are you?"
"This planet has rubbed off on the both of us."
"Yeah, this blue ball of mud has grown on me. C'mon, let's get some sleep." Caelum says and the two fall asleep.

'So, one of their number is feeling low, maybe I'll give him that one on one fight he desires, but be careful what you wish for, Caelum, you just might get it. Hehehehe." Chaos thinks watching the sleeping X weapon.

"Ah, is the X weapon not feeling his normal confident self?" Chaos asks as Caelum finishes his nightly patrol.
"Chaos," he growls reaching for his phone.
"Awe, I thought you wanted this. Why ruin this by calling in your friends." Chaos states.
'Grrr, I shouldn't face him alone, but I need to prove to myself that I am one of the best in this or any galaxy.' Caelum thinks. "Alright, you want to go, then let's go." Caelum states.
"That's what I wanted to hear." Chaos says smirking.

"Hey, all quiet on your side of the city?" WordGirl asks as Emma comes flying up beside her.
"Yes. I need to talk to you about Caelum."
"You two aren't having a relationship problem are you?"
"No. Our last opponents have given his pride a harsh blow. He is feeling as if he's becoming useless."
"And everyone needs to feel useful." WordGirl states. "C'mon, let's go find Tim."

'No! This guy is stronger than the elementals.' Caelum thinks.
"What's wrong? I thought you'd be enjoying yourself" Chaos states using his trident to press Caelum down towards the ground.

"Well, I can give you both a clean bill of health." Professor Tubing states.
"Thanks doc, let's go. I think Chaos is down here again." Fire states and in a flash of their elemental powers the two vanish.

He was breathing hard and he had several deep cuts and bruises. The thick Decimalian arm had kept him from receiving a death blow right off the bat.
"Is this all the X weapons of Decimal can offer me?" Chaos taunts.
"You are a fool...,if I were a normal Decimalian, you'd killed me by now. I'm not normal!" he shouts and attacks again.

'I'll give them this, no warrior without elemental powers has lasted this long against me.' Chaos ponders as he starts firing off bolts of power. Caelum, learning from Tim's mishap with the reflectors starts performing complex moves to avoid the blasts.
'Maybe if I can ware him out I'll be able to beat this fucker.' Caelum thinks.

Chaos starts swinging his trident in an attempt to take Caelum's head off. Caelum continues to duck the swings and tries to kick the weapon out of Chaos's hands. Chaos growls at the foolish boy for even thinking of attempting such a foolish move.

"What makes you think you can defeat me? You're just a flawed Decimalian weapon. You're nothing but a mindless soldier that is trying to find himself a mind." Chaos taunts yet again.
"Shut...," Caelum begins and gives Chaos a sucker punch to the mouth, "up!" Chaos spits out a tooth and continues the fight.

"This is the great and all mighty Chaos?! I've fought insects tougher than you!" Caelum taunts back launch more strikes intending on dislodging the trident from Chaos's grasp.
"You don't give up do you? Are you just too stupid to do so?" Chaos asks.
"The only one that is stupid is you! You come to this planet in order to finish off your enemies and challenge the strongest beings in this galaxy and yet you've not accomplished your goal! You're a poor tactician!" Caelum retorts now focusing on Chaos's ribs.

"I must give you credit. For someone who isn't even half as strong as Fire and Ice you've put up one hell of a fight. But, like all good things, you must come to an end."
"We'll see who'll come to their end." Caelum growls. He sees that Chaos was charging up a ball of energy that was attached to the end of his trident. Caelum rushes and grabs the weapon above where Chaos had his hands.

"Let go!" Chaos demands.
"Never!" Caelum cries trying to push the trident so his next attack would hit Chaos himself.
"Fool!" Chaos shouts and the black ball of energy shoots off wildly destroying a nearby building.

"You missed!" Caelum shouts, but the trident meets his head and Caelum's eyes roll up into the back of his head.
"Fool, you're own arrogance will be your downfall." Chaos says and raises the trident to impale Caelum but two elemental blasts of fire and ice make him back away from Caelum.

MathWiz scans the section of the city he was patrolling. All seemed quiet until he heard an alarm and saw a masked thug carrying a sack. MathWiz power dives and lands in front of the hooded thug. He pulls out a gun and waves it about.
"Uh, do you really think that'll work?" MathWiz asks but the guy fires and MathWiz uses his newly repaired reflectors to reflect the bullet. "Shit, slugs sting, and I just got these things fixed yesterday." he growls. The thug prepares to fire again, but a hand from above grips his wrist hard.
"Drop it." WordGirl growls. He tries to turn the gun so it would be aimed at his other attacker, but the pressure that WordGirl was putting on his hand forces him to drop the gun. Unfortunately, for the thug, he too drops from a kick to the head by Emma. The three then hear the sounds of combat between the elementals and Chaos.
"That's in Caelum's area." Emma states and flies off without letting the other two even try to stop or catch up to her.
"Let's go." WordGirl states and the two pull out their necklaces and link hands.
"Team Alphanumeric!" they both shout and the gold light surrounds them.
"Word up!"
"Calculate!" and with that they fly off to engage Chaos again.

"I thought you were left for dead! How could the two of you survived that last battle!?" Chaos shouts avoiding another attack from the two.
"This planet isn't as back watered as you'd think, Chaos." Fire says as a fiery attack almost slams into Chaos. Emma lands and runs over to Caelum who was regaining consciousness.
"Is your male ego satisfied?" Emma states angry at him for pulling this stunt, but eternally grateful that he was still alive.
"Hehehe, he can't kill me. The best he can do is knock the stuffing out of me." Caelum muses with a smile.
"I think that last blow to the head did something." Emma dryly jokes.
"Ahhh!" Chaos shouts as he is attacked by Team Alphanumeric. He snarls and was about to attack when he could feel that his energy was running out. If he didn't leave and recharge the Jewel of Chaos, he'd lose this fight for sure. He vanishes without any preamble leaving the group to tend to Caelum.

"I've never thought I'd ever see someone besides us come out of a fight with being killed by Chaos that was as strong as that bastard." Fire states.
"He'll be fine, the pig headed idiot." Emma states.
"We need to find a way to defeat him once and for all before he destroys us." WordGirl states.
"Hmmm, he got away like a bat out of hell. I wonder if he was feeling drained." MathWiz ponders as the four sit in Tubing's lab while the professor checked over Caelum.
"Of course!" Ice says snapping her fingers. "The Jewel of Chaos does have its limits. If we force him to drain it completely, he'll be far easily to handle."
"well, that'll take a lot of effort and I'm not sure about the limit of our new powers." MathWiz states.
"You two are probably the most formidable pair of heroes in this galaxy. Me and Fire, however, will try and help you reach the full potential of this 'Heart of Knowledge. It's probably the only way Chaos will finally be put to rest once and for all." Ice states and WordGirl and MathWiz nod their heads in agreement.
