Letters From Derpy

Dear Applejack and Big Macintosh,

This is weird. I really want to fly right over and tell you myself, but if she knew I was even writing this Princess Luna would probably do something really bad to me. I kind of think she's going to anyway, but then you'll get this and can do something.

Tonight she told me that we could just hang out because Trixie was busy and Gilda wasn't there. She had to do something first and told me to go around and see how good the castle looked. I went AWAY from where Trixie was working. She probably hates me as much as Gilda.

Anyway, I heard some music coming from one of the rooms. It wasn't that good, like when I was first learning. I peeked in and almost fainted: Princess Luna was teaching Apple Bloom to play the piano! The princess was being really nice with her, especially since it's real tough for earth ponies to play it. She also knew I was there and told me to play while Apple Bloom helped. The princess said she just wanted your sister to get the rhythm right.

Then she complimented my playing, which was being generous. It was the first time I ever smiled there. Then I told Apple Bloom, "Your family's gonna be proud."

But she looked down and pouted. "They don't know I'm here. I told them I was playing with my friends."

"But you are!" the princess chirped. Apparently she found Apple Bloom playing by herself one day and loved how spunky she is. The princess wanted to spend time with her but figured you might not understand, so she got her to fib about it.

Then the princess got real close to me. "So let's not say anything." Suddenly her snout's in my ear! "Please?" My body froze and all I could do was nod.

"Good. Then that's settled."

It's funny. Before, I just wanted to end it all because of my pain. But now I only want to protect Apple Bloom from whatever Princess Luna is going to do to her.

BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW!
