To whoever’s reading this

Hello, if you are reading this that means I have passed away. Whether I have just died or I’m long gone I cannot tell. What I can say is that you are an heir of mine, perhaps by blood perhaps not but you’re an heir none the less. With this letter is a story. I’ve written the story down several years after the events of the story. The story might seem unreal but the fact that you’re actually reading this letter proves that it’s true. Before I you read the story I feel that I must inform you of who I am and was. My name is Jake, Jake Whillman. The name might or might not ring a bell, I hope it does but if not then I forgive you. During the time of the story I was 16 now the youth I once had is lost to me and so is most of my memory all that is left now are foggy pictures of people. You might not care but it could be useful to know. Perhaps it’s more useful if I tell you what I looked like rather than my name and age. I have brown hair. My skin is pale not white but paler then normal people. I’m taller than most too, about 6 foot and I weigh a good 170 pounds. I used to spend most of my days smoking cigarettes and hanging out with friends. Before what happened in the tale I lived with my single mother in a house in a small town, the name of the town is now long forgotten. The village itself vanished into the suburbs of a larger city, it happened slowly but in the end everyone lost its town identity. So the name wouldn’t help you in any way. That’s all I want to tell you and that this letter will, there are no dramatic events in my life that you will not learn from in the book itself if you want to learn more about me, I’m afraid you won’t be able too. I’m most possibly the last of my friends alive, perhaps somewhere are some old companions I met left but they won’t talk to you however you are especially about me. I only hope this letter lands in the hands of my family or the family of my friends, so they will understand and know that this story is the truth and not just the insane chimera’s of an old man. Even if you find them just that I still hope you at least find some pleasure in reading them, perhaps they are nothing more but I think they are more, even so I advice you and you’d do good in following it to keep an open mind during the tale, not everything might seem completely morally right but just ignore it, the events are to long gone to change them even if you would want to change them. Even so I have kept you long enough with my mindless drabbles. The story is waiting for you and death for me.

Yours sincerely,

                Jake Whillman
