Since some people liked it, I decided to write another Lexington/Staghart fic. BTW, Greg's website says that he envisioned Alan Cumming doing the voice of Staghart. He's Scottish, but he could probably do an English accent. He did a German one in /X-Men United/ and in /Cabaret/. (He's also the ONLY reason to watch /Son of the Mask/.)
Well, without further ado, here's....

Lexington took his perch on the parapet. He saw Broadway take his place beside Angela. Brooklyn took his place beside Katana, their son Nashville not too far off. Coldstone and Coldfire bid their good-nights before retiring to their alcoves to recharge. Elisa shared a lingering good-bye with Goliath. Hudson went into a crouch and drew his sword, awaiting the sun. Lexington sighed and watched the first rays of the sun gleam over the horizon. He thought of someone far over that horizon. /Does he still think of me?/ was his last thought before he turned to stone.

Xanatos leaned back in his office chair and stretched his fingers. Perhaps he could take the rest of the day off, get an early start on that romantic Valentines date he planned with Fox. "Mr. Xanatos." Owen entered. "A rather large package has arrived via Federal Express."
"Who's it from?" he asked.
"The return address was a London business known as Into The Mystic."
"Never heard of it."
"Furthermore, sir, the package was addressed to Lexington. The delivery man wanted to know if it was a last name or first name. I signed on his behalf and took the liberty of having it placed on the veranda where Lexington can open it when he awakens."
"Good work, Owen." Xanatos stood and rubbed his beard. "I wonder what would someone in London would send Lexington." He decided to go out and have a look himself.
The wooden crate was very large, about four feet in every dimension. It had been marked "Fragile" in several places in bright red letters. A stamp on the side indicated that it was from London, the Soho area to be precise. The address of the Eyrie Tower was written on a piece of paper taped on another side. "Attn. Lexington" topped the address. Xanatos nudged the side of the box. It didn't budge. Whatever was inside was heavy. Curiosity sated, Xanatos turned to go back when he heard a cracking noise from the box.
Curiosity piqued again, Xanatos approached the box. He tapped the lid. "Anyone in there?" he asked.
"Is Lexington there?" A voice from inside asked. The voice was male, with a pleasant English accent.
"Owen!" Xanatos called. "I'll need a crowbar!"
"I say," said the somewhat muffled voice. "If you're not Lexington, you'd best not open this box. Tampering with the mail being a federal offence and all that."
Owen gave Xanatos the crowbar. "Lexington won't be up for several hours." Xanatos said as he started to pry at the lid. "I doubt you want to wait for him in there." With a crack of splintering wood, the box opened. Xanatos examined the gargoyle that stood up, shaking styrofoam peanuts from his antlers and enormous feathered wings. He looked like a six foot tall deer covered in white fur. His taloned hands slapped over blue eyes.
"Will you turn off that bloody light?" he asked. "It's blinding me!"
Xanatos smiled. "I'm capable of many things." he said. "But even I can't turn off the sun."
"The sun? But...I'm awake!"
Xanatos took a pair of Ray-Bans out of his pocket. "Put these on." He suggested. The white gargoyle put on the sunglasses and blinked as his eyes adjusted. "My name is David Xanatos. And, you are...?"
"Staghart." said the new gargoyle. "You said Lexington won't be up. Where is he."
"Right over there." Xanatos pointed to the small stone gargoyle that stared wistfully into the east. Staghart stepped out of the box and went to him. He gently trailed a knuckle of one talon over the stone face.
"Why so sad, love?" he whispered to the statue. Suddenly, Staghart felt dizzy and queasy. He groaned as he grabbed for his head.
"Is something wrong?" Xanatos asked as he approached the new gargoyle.
"Nothing, just feel a bit queer is all."
Xanatos smirked at Staghart's word choice. "You're suffering jet lag. Your body thinks it's earlier than it is. That's why you're awake at daytime. Why don't you come inside?"
"Thank you, no, maybe later. I'd like to be out here a while. I've never seen the sun before. Saving movies."
"As you wish." said Xanatos. "If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask." He left the new gargoyle on the veranda, where he admired the sun glinting on frost and the form of his lover in turns.
February 14, 3:00 PM
"So, this is New York." Staghart said, admiring the skyline. He ran a hand over Lexington's stoney head. "I can't wait for you to wake up and show it to me." Staghart looked at the other gargoyles frozen in stone sleep. "And you can introduce me to your friends. I hope they'll like me. Hudson seemed to."
"Care to come in for some tea?" Staghart turned to see a red haired woman with a tattoo over one eye dressed in a red and gold sweater. "David told me your name is Staghart. I'm Fox."
"Pleased to meet you, Miss Fox." said Staghart. "You did say tea, right? My friend Coco told me they didn't have tea in the States."
Fox laughed a bit. "Honey, this is New York. You can have anything from English tea to Indian curry to gelato to tom yum kung."
Staghart followed Fox inside, where a tea service had been set up. She poured two cups and offered one to Staghart. "I find traveling west is easier than traveling east." she said. "Have some carbs and you'll be fine by sunset." She motioned to a platter of cookies and crackers.
"Thank you, miss." he said, taking a cracker. "Say, is it true that some Americans pour tea over ice?"
"Not in February." she informed him. "So, Staghart, what brings you to the States?"
"A large four-by-four packing crate."
"Besides that."
"Well..." he tapped his talons against his cup. "Lexington and Hudson told me all about New York and I thought it would be nice to come see it for myself."
"Come now, it isn't New York you've come to see." Fox gave a knowing smile.
"Well, I would like to spend time with Lexington. And Hudson!" Staghart added the other gargoyle's name a bit quickly. "And maybe get to know the rest of the clan."
"Staghart, don't try to fool me of yourself." she said. "No one crosses an ocean to say hello to just a friend. Especially not on Valentine's Day. And I saw the way you were pining for him back there."
"Who was pining?" Staghart asked with a nervous laugh.
"Staghart, it's fine. I get my hair done every week by a nice guy named Pavel who tells me all about his boyfriend, Jared."
"Alright." Staghart sighed. "I-I wanted to surprise Lexington. We've been keeping in contact through e-mail and web vids and such. But...it isn't the same."
"No. It isn't." Fox agreed. She sipped her tea. "Lexington was going to babysit my son this evening, but I'm sure I can get Owen to take care of him."
"You have a son?"
"An eight month old." she said. "Lexington is very good with him. You good with kids?"
"I was pretty good with the hatchlings back at Knight's Spur." Staghart shook his head. "Poor Lunette cried so when I told her I was leaving."
"Well, I'm sure Lexington will like his surprise." said Fox. "And I have some Christmas leftovers that might make things a bit more festive."
February 14, 6:05 PM
Roars split through the evening air as gargoyles shattered their stone skin. The first thing noticed was the large wooden box. "Where'd that come from?" asked Hudson.
Broadway and Angela approached the box. Broadway tried to read the red letters it was stamped with. "Frah-jee-lay. Must be Italian."
Angela thought for a moment the box just giggled, but she wasn't sure. She did see a card made of pink construction paper atop the box labeled "For Lex". She picked it up. "Lexington," she said. "I think this is for you."
Lex took the card and read it. "Dear Lex, I decided to let Owen babysit tonight instead. Have fun with this present someone in London sent to you. Fox."
"A present from the London Clan?" Goliath surmised.
"What did they send?" asked Brooklyn. "A lifetime supply of comic books?"
"Just open it already!" said Nashville.
Lexington lifted the lid. "Surprise!" Staghart stood, wearing a red ribbon like a sash, bow at his shoulder. Lexington stood open mouthed. Was he dreaming? He couldn't be. If it was a dream, the ribbon would be all Staghart would be wearing. "Well, aren't you going to say hello?" Staghart asked, stepping from the box.
"Amp!" Lex gasped as he started to embrace Staghart. He caught himself and settled for an arm clasp. "It- it's really good to see you again."
"Aye, lad." Hudson stepped forward for an arm clasp. "It's good to see ye again. Everyone," Hudson addressed the clan. "This is Staghart. Lexington and I met him in London. Staghart, this is Goliath, leader of our clan."
"An honor to meet you, sir!" said Staghart, shaking hands with Goliath. "Lex has told me so much about you."
"You are the 'Amp' Lexington talks to on the computer?" Goliath asked.
"My friends call me Amp." said Staghart.
"Right...." said Goliath.
"I'm Angela!"
"I'm Broadway!"
"I'm Nashville!"
"I'm Brooklyn."
"I'm Katana. Konichi wa."
"I'm Elisa." The human member of the clan stepped onto the veranda. "Sorry I'm late. Valentine's Day traffic is murder. Who's your friend."
"Elisa," said Lexington. "This is my friend, Staghart."
"Friends call me Amp." Staghart said, extending a hand that Elisa took.
"Amp?" said Elisa. "You're the one Lex can't stop talking about! Lately, it seems everytime I talk to him, he tells me about what you said or did."
"I-I don't always." Lexington said, blushing.
"There are two other members of the clan." Elisa informed him. The two cyborg gargoyles stepped outside. "Ah, here they are. Coldstone and Coldfire."
"We're acquainted." said Staghart.
"Hey, Big Guy." Elisa approached Goliath. "How 'bout our date now?"
Goliath smiled as he took the woman in his arms. "Sorry to cut our meeting short, Staghart." said Goliath. "But I have a previous engagment. I'm sure one of the others would be glad to show you around." He spread his wings and glided into the night with Elisa.
"Much as I'd love to stay and chat," said Broadway. "I already promised Angela we'd go see /Rent/ tonight. We'd like to get there before the first act starts. Later!" They both waved good-bye and left.
"Katana and I are set to patrol Central Park." said Brooklyn. "Nashville, you can come with us."
"Aw, but, Dad, I wanna get to know Staghart."
"You can get to know him later." said Katana. "Right now, I'm sure he is tired from his long trip." The family left.
"We could always...." began Coldstone.
"Patrol the harbor." Coldfire cut him off.
"But, Beloved, our guest...."
"Needs time alone." she said pointedly. "With someone else."
Coldstone got it, or at least thought he did, and left with his mate.
"I'm going to watch the television." Hudson announced. "The /Star Trek/ cast is defending their title against Chuck Norris on /Celebrity Hockey/."
"Who's on his team?" asked Lexington.
"Who said he had a team?" retorted Hudson. "Here Bronx! Here Fu-Dog!" The two beasts followed, leaving Lexington and Staghart alone.
Lexington fairly leaped into Staghart's arms as he wanted to do from the moment he emerged from the box. Strong arms held him. Silky fur cushioned him. Feathery wings encircled him. He felt whole again. "I missed you." Lexington whispered.
Staghart ran the tips of his talons over Lex's brow ridges. "I missed you too."
"So, uh, how long are you going to be here?"
"How long do you want me to be here?"
Lexington nearly said "Forever!" but caught himself. "Amp, I can't ask you to leave your clan."
"You didn't. I got tired of missing you and remembered that planes go both ways. Besides, Knight's Spur is getting crowded."
"But, they're your clan."
"Coco told me I should do what makes me happy. You make me happy, Lex." Staghart nuzzled the smaller gargoyle's cheek. "Let me show you how happy. Wouldn't you like to unwrap your present?" Staghart gave him a cheeky smile. "You can play with it all night."
Lexington took a deep breath, trying to keep his head from spinning. "Uh, OK. Xanatos has a guest room not far from here. We can use that."
They held hands as Lex led Amp to the guest room. In their happy daze of love, they nearly ran into Owen, who was carrying Alex. Lex muttered an apology. "Woodalf!" squealed Alex, pointing at the new gargoyle.
"Beg your pardon?" Amp quirked an eyebrow, amused by the child.
"That's Alex." said Lexington. "He thinks you're Rudolph!" Lex chuckled. Amp laughed too.
"My name is Amp." he said to Alex. "Can you say 'Amp'?" Alex blew a raspberry. "Er, close enough. I remember when Lunette was this little. Can I hold him?"
"Alex needs to do his lessons before bedtime." said Owen.
"Now, why would someone this little need lessons?" Amp gave Alex his finger to pull on.
"I'll explain later." Lex took his hand and led him away.
"Anyone who's seen /Dr. Who/ knows what that means." Amp sighed.
"It means," Lexington said as he opened the door. "I want a little less talk and a little more action." He pulled Amp in and closed the door. "We can talk later."
"Would you like to open your present now?" Amp asked, putting on a seductive pose. Lex pulled on the ribbon, untying it. Amp got on his knees and bowed his head so Lex could undo the snap on his unitard. As Lex slipped the spandex off, Amp undid the belt holding Lex's loincloth on. Soon, both were naked, but all they could look at was each others' eyes, until Amp took the initiative and scooped Lex up in his arms. He spun with joy and they both fell on the bed together.
Lex's talons ran through the soft white fur on Amp's chest and worked their way to his firm back, ruffling the downy feathers at the base of his wings. Amp shuddered and moaned, thrusting his hips so that his member brushed Lex's hip. Lex smiled with the knowledge that he could sexually thrill someone he loved so very much. Amp ran his hands up and down Lex's spine, whispering his name all the while. Lex found that kissing the bare skin inside Amp's ear made the bigger gargoyle make some interesting noises. He started making some interesting noises himself when Amp gently squeezed Lex's member.
"I want you to take me, Lex." Amp gasped. "Please."
"OK, hold on a sec." Lex opened the drawer of the nearby nightstand and hoped there was something he could use. After tossing out various hair care supplies Fox probably hadn't used in a year, Lex found a small tube of hand cream. With a smile, he offered the tube to Amp.
Amp squirted a generous sized dollop into the palm of his hand. He smiled and gazed into Lex's eyes as he worked the cream over Lex's penis. Lex lay back and sighed at the strange but wonderful feeling of another's hands on his shaft. "Amp," he gasped as the feelings became more and more pleasurable. "You-you have to stop. I'm gonna cum!"
"Can't have you doing that yet." said Amp, letting go. He got on his hands and knees, presenting his back end to Lex, twitching his tail invitingly.
Lexington couldn't resist giving that fuzzy bit of stubby tail a small pull. He gently put a finger inside and started whirling it in circles. Amp was panting and gasping Lex's name. "Lex...." he gasped. "Please, don't tease me. Just...just do it!"
"I don't want to hurt you." said Lex.
"You could never hurt me, love." said Amp. "Please! Now!"
Lexington knelt and prepared to mount his lover. /My mate?/ he briefly wondered. He positioned the tip right against the opening and slowly began to push himself in. He gave a shuddering sigh and embraced his lover, enjoying the hot, tight squeeze. Amp was giving a low keen of pleasure. "Hard, Lex!" Amp gasped. "Give it to me hard!"
Lex obliged, giving many hard thrusts, loving the feeling of being joined with Amp once more. In time, his hard thrusts slowed in tempo as Lex relished the sweet sensation. Amp was flexing his internal muscles, squeezing his lover inside him. "Need your hand." he gasped.
Lex grabbed Amp's member. It was already slick with pre-cum. Lex worked his hand up and down the organ as he matched the rhythm with his thrusts. Amp was bucking underneath him. Lex felt that tight feeling in his balls and that tingle down his spine that signaled his coming orgasm. Amp was giving a series of small moans and the wetness was issuing from his member. Lex let out a roar as he came inside Amp. Amp collapsed with a groan as hot semen poured over Lex's hand.
Both held each other as they panted, trying to get their breathing and heart rates somewhere close to normal. Lex wrapped his arms around Amp and snuggled his head against his throat, feeling completely happy. Amp pulled Lex close so that their chests were pressed together. He let one hand rest on the base of Lex's tail. "Love you so much." he whispered.
Lex kissed Amp on the nose. "I can't believe this is happening." he sighed. "I thought I was going to spend Valentine's alone this year. Yeah, I've always spent it alone, but this year, everyone in my clan had someone. Well, except for Nashville, who's too young for this kinda thing and Hudson who's too old for this kinda thing."
Amp chuckled. "Well, you got me, Lex. I'll stay as long as you want me to." He lay on his back and stretched. "Maybe tomorrow you can show me around New York."
"Hope you're not expecting a stroll through the MOMA." Lex said with a laugh.
"I figured that would be out of the question." Amp smiled and lazily let his fingers trail over Lex's arm. "But, you could show me The Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building. Saw it today from a distance while waiting for you to wake up."
"Huh? Oh, yeah, time differences and jet lag. I'm surprised you were up for lovemaking. I could barely stand up when I first got to England."
"It's not so bad if you travel west." said Amp. "Maybe we can take in a Broadway show. Coco and I sometimes watched shows from the rafters of the Drury Lane Theatre Royal."
"We could probably do that." Lex frowned. "I had been working on something, but I guess it can wait. I was trying to get it done by tonight, but I've been having trouble with it."
"What is it?"
"It's um...well...." Lex wasn't sure how to put it. "You saw Coldstone and Coldfire, right? I was trying to wire something up so that they could...you know...."
"Make the beast with four wings?" suggested Amp. "Hop on the good foot and do the bad thing? Go for a bit of bendy? Send a probe to Venus?"
"Uh, yeah, that." said Lexington. "I had ordered a few things on line. But, I'm having trouble converting the quantum-plasmonic tacticle sensors."
"Have you tried soldiering the synergistic regulator to the internal inducing coil?"
"Amp! I love it when you speak technobabble!" Lex took his hand and kissed it. "Speak some more!" He kissed his wrist. "Zenor diode!" He kissed Amp's forearm. "Proton flux!" He kissed Amp closer to his elbow. "Polarizing capacitor!" He kissed the inside of Amp's elbow. "Anything!"
Amp chuckled and ran his talons over the back of Lex's head. "We'll have time enough for that later, love."

This song didn't inspire the title or anything, but I'll print the lyrics because they're appropriate for the story. Imagine Alan Cumming and Thom Adcox singing it! The song is "I'll Cover You" from /Rent/. Since Thom has a higher voice, I think he'd sing Angel's parts. It was the 1996 Tony award winner for best new musical, so that's why I had Broadway and Angela see it.
Live In My House
I'll Be Your Shelter
Just Pay Me Back
With One Thousand Kisses
Be My Lover - I'll Cover You
Open Your Door
I'll Be Your Tenant
Don't Got Much Baggage
To Lay At Your Feet
But Sweet Kisses I've Got To Spare
I'll Be There - I'll Cover You
I Think They Meant It
When They Said You Can't Buy Love
Now I Know You Can Rent It
A New Lease You Are, My Love,
One Life - Be My Life
Just Slip Me On
I'll Be Your Blanket
Wherever - Whatever - I'll Be Your Coat
You'll Be My King
And I'll Be Your Castle
No You'll Be My Queen
And I'll Be Your Moat
I Think They Meant It
When They Said You Can't Buy Love
Now I Know You Can Rent It
A New Lease You Are, My Love
On Life
All My Life I've Longed To Discover
Something As True As This Is
So With A Thousand Sweet Kisses
And I'll Cover You
With A Thousand Sweet Kisses
I'll Cover You
When You're Worn Out And Tired
When Your Heart Has Expired
If You're Cold You're Lonely
You've Got One Nickel Only
With A Thousand Sweet Kisses
I'll Cover You
With A Thousand Sweet Kisses
I'll Cover You
Oh Lover I'll Cover You
Oh Lover I'll Cover You
Well, without further ado, here's....
