Legalities & Warnings
The title is just a play on words...,I'm not writing a Shakespeare rip off fic. Almost all characters belong to MTV and Viacom. Any original characters are mine and cannot be used unless permission has been given. I warn you now, I might be getting certain details of Ep. 408 and 413 wrong, but I'm altering the conversation between Trent and Daria and probably when it takes place. This will also alter certain things from 413 that I'm going to have in here as well. So for the Daria geeks out there forgive me. I've been having a difficult time remembering all the episodes. This starts just after Daria reacts bad to Trent's claim that Tom is interested in him.
***
Maybe he messed up by saying that. Maybe he was seeing things that weren't there. He did have a tendency to see things that aren't there when he hadn't gotten enough sleep. She was mad and he knew it. He turns to leave his older brother's room. It was giving him a bad vive.
"Wait...," Daria says sighing, "I'm sorry."
"It's ok, I'm probably seeing things that aren't there because of my lack of sleep. Jane picked a hell of a time to go power tool tripping." he says rubbing his eyes.
"You couldn't get enough sleep?" Daria asks. Trent was the king of sleep.
"Is there something wrong?" she asks seeing that Jane's power tool phase probably hadn't been the only reason that he hadn't been getting any sleep.
"The dream is dyeing. We've got no base player. Nick and Max had a blow out to end all blow outs. I'm going to have to take a one and a half hour drive to a club that's got a band playing a gig with a base player that I hope will join us. He's been taking temp gigs so I'm hoping he's in the mood to be someone's permanent player."
Daria bites her lip. She hadn't been keeping up much with the Spiral since the project incident. "I'm sorry, I didn't know things had gotten that bad."
"It was coming for a long time now. I'll go and try and get some sleep." he says turning again towards the door.
"Wait, the sound can't be heard in hear. If you'll be willing to share a mattress we both might be able to get some sleep."
"You sure?"
"This will help you. You can't take that long of a drive needing sleep. Let's just say I'm paying a penance for not noticing." she says and Trent joins her on the floor. He lays down and immediately falls asleep. Daria quietly yawns and falls asleep beside him.
***
Jane stands at the side of the mattress where Daria lays curled against her brother. A year ago she would kill to have this moment, but now the fun of seeing this was gone. Why was she being so paranoid with Tom anyway? She was the one that wanted the two to get along and now that they were she was changing her mind? She shakes her head and looks down at the sleeping pair. Last night, while the two slept, Daria's mother stormed into the house demanding that Daria come with her. They tried everything to wake her up but nothing worked. the stranger thing was the fact that when Helen got closer to Daria Trent started snarling. Jane snaps to the present hearing Trent waking up.
"You've got a lot of explaining to do Trent." Jane says in a harsh whisper.
"She offered to let me sleep here."
"Ok, but why the hell were you growling like you had gone into some sort of berserker mode when we tried to get close to Daria?"
"Who...?"
"Her mother showed up last night."
"Oh, I better get myself ready."
"Where are you going?"
"Got to find a new base player." Trent answers and leaves the room. Jane quietly sighs and waits for Daria to wake up. Five minutes later the auburn wakes and sees Jane looking down at her.
"What?"
"You share a bed with Trent and your mother shows up and you have the gall to ask that?"
"My mother showed up and I wasn't informed?"
"You were the living dead just like Trent."
"So that's why I feel like I got the best sleep of my life. I'm sorry about my mother. I'll deal with it." she says getting up.
"You know, if this happened a year ago...,"
"Don't Lane, I've got enough to deal with." Daria says getting her stuff together.

Helen Morgandorffer paces in the living room waiting for her eldest daughter to show up. This had been a stressful week and her daughter running off like that to that house without telling them wasn't doing her any favors. She hears Daria come in but before she could round on her Daria cuts her off.
"I'm only going to say this once. Quinn invited her three fashion club twits to the hotel room that you foolishly had the both of us share. Those three hate me, especially Sandy. I wasn't going to stay where I wasn't wanted so that's why I went to Jane's house. I didn't have sex with Jane's older brother if that's the other thing that you were going to accuse me of. No guy would want to touch me anyway." Daria says heading up the stairs. Helen bit her lip wondering if she was still traumatized from her years at Highland.
"Daria wait," Helen says following her oldest daughter, "Quinn was wrong to invite her friends without considering you."
"She never considers me, mom. I'm her cousin according to the rest of Lawndale High."
Helen bites her lip again. She could tell that the denial of Quinn's relation to Daria didn't bother her. Daria had such high standards that most of the people that hang around Quinn would find it almost impossible to befriend Daria. Daria would have to behave more like Quinn, but she didn't like being judged by her looks at all.
"Ok, I'm going to overlook this. You probably couldn't get along with Sandy anyway. Just try and let me know if we have to stay in a hotel again if your father tries to burn the house down again. Next time I'll try to get you girls separate rooms." Helen says and lets her daughter go to her room.
***
A twenty-five year old man sits on the back of his car. His legs dangle over the side of the trunk. His dark brown eyes are closed in pleasure. He moans as the girl in his lap continues to suck the flesh off of his neck. Her pale skin is a sharp contrast to her midnight black hair. Hearing footsteps approaching, he opens his eyes to see a man wearing faded jeans and an old looking T-shirt.
"You Lynn?" Trent asks.
"Who's asking?"
"Someone who needs a permanent basest. I was quite impressed tonight."
"Thanks. What's the band's name?"
"Mystik Spiral."
"Hm, you're a grunge band that plays in Lawndale. I've heard about you. You really need to change the "k" to "c" in Mystik."
"Hey, that might work. I'm not sure why we misspelled it. You think you could come over and at least let us hear you?"
"I'm more metal and gothic than what you guys play."
"I think we could tweak the material we've got."
"What about adding this devil of a keyboard player?" he asks looking down at his girlfriend.
"Hm, I thought she was part of the band you were filling in for."
"Nope, we're just a couple of musicians that need a band."
"All right, can the two of you come to..." he says handing a scrap of paper to him.
"Give me a few weeks to finish the last of my commitments here. So, who am I dealing with?"
"I'm Trent, lead singer and guitarist of the Spiral."
"I'm Daric Lynn, and I'll see you in a few weeks." Trent nods and smiles. He heads to his car hoping to get back home and get some sleep.
***
"Wait a damn minute Trent. You've not only gotten a base player to audition, but you're letting his girlfriend audition as a keyboard player?!" Max explodes.
"I've heard about this guy. He's the best base player around here. I'm not sure about this keyboard player." Jessie says wondering what Trent could be thinking.
"I saw her play. She's not techno dude." Trent says to Max.
"Look, I don't care if it's Cliff Burton walking in that door I don't think we could add in a keyboard player especially a girl even if her boyfriend is the best around." Max says glaring at Trent.
"We've got no choice, Max. If this band is going to continue we need him. If you can't deal with that..." Trent says leaving the threat unspoken. Max, realizing that he may be crossing the line with Trent, backs off. The doorbell rings and Trent answers it. Daric and the gothic keyboard player enter at Trent's beckoning. The five head down to the basement.
***
"You know, I think that this could work." Trent says finishing up another song.
"Errr, look Daric, I didn't know about letting your girl in, but as long as I'm not being replaced by a drum machine it's cool." Max says apologetically.
"So, I'm guessing that me and Black Angel have earned our spots?" Daric asks.
"Yep, and cool name." Trent says but then they hear Jane shouting from upstairs. Trent, Jessie, and Max charge up out of the basement while Daric and Angel make their way up slowly. Daric could hear Jessie and Max laughing their heads off. When the new members of the Spiral came into the kitchen they saw a poorly done hair dye job.
"What the hell...,were you...,trying to...,do...,carrot top?!" Jessie says laughing at Jane's failed attempt at changing her hair color. Max had already fallen on the floor laughing his head off. Jane charges at Jessie in a fit of rage. Trent, noticing Daria leaving, quickly follows.
***
"Hey, wait up!" Trent calls out to Daria. The auburn slows to let Trent catch up to her.
"Your sister is getting too paranoid for her own good. She's too stupid for her own good as well."
"She shouldn't have asked you to do something that she knew you couldn't do."
"She's just doing it to save her relationship with Tom. She should admit it to herself that it's over."
"Janie's got a hard head. It takes a sledgehammer blow for anything to sink into that thick skull of hers." Trent says as they start to approach Daria's house.
"Yeah, I guess I'll have to find a sledgehammer and hammer my point home." she replies and Trent laughs and goes into a fit of coughing. Then Daria notices the parked car in front of her house. "Damn it, what is he doing here?"
"Looks like he's waiting on you."
"I'm not in the mood to deal with him."
"You can't hide from him forever."
"Hm, I don't like this. I need some excuse not to get in that car. I've got a feeling if I get in that car that I'll end up doing something I'll regret."
"I could scare him off." Trent offers smiling.
"You said he's getting interested in me. Well, I've got to make it look like that I'm not on the market."
"How are you gonna do that?" Trent asks.
"Trent, I need you to do a favor for me."
"What?"
"Help me put on a show for young Thomas."
"What sort of a show?"
"Just follow my lead." Daria answers and the two continue to walk.
***
He had been waiting on Daria for at least half an hour. The girls in that house scared him. They had been coating their faces with too much blush. Then he saw Daria approaching and to Tom's dismay, Trent was with her as well. Was it just him or were they holding hands.
"Tom, what are you doing here?" she asks.
"I was waiting on you. I wanted to talk to you."
"Sorry, I've got other things to do. I just needed to drop by and change. Me and Trent are going to pick up some pizza and disappear into the park."
"What?"
"We already told Jane that we've been in a secret relationship ever since before that stupid little school project. It came as a shock to her, but the look on her face when she caught us...," she says and leans in and Trent kisses her full on the mouth. She could see the discomfort in Tom's eyes plus a little jealousy. She had to admit that this wasn't unpleasant.
"All right, I guess I'll talk to you later." Tom says and he gets in his car and drives away.
"Yeah, much later." Daria says smirking.
"What if he tells Janie...,"
"She'll either set him straight or come running for our blood."
"I think I'll go get that pizza."
"I'll come with you. The execution of a successful ploy gives me an appetite." she says and the two head on for the Pizza King.
***
He needed to get to Jane's house as quickly as his rust bucket could get him there. Once he gets to the house he runs for the front door only to hear Jane yelling at Jessie and Max. He sees an orange and black striped Jane chasing the two with a frying pan.
"Jane?!" Tom says looking at Jane's hair.
"Tom! Get out of here!" Jane shouts at him.
"I just want to know if Daria actually is dating your brother."
"What?!" Jane says dropping the pan.
"I went over to Daria's just to talk to her and her and Trent kiss right in front of me." Tom explains.
'I thought that was over. Something isn't right around here.' Where are they now?"
"Most likely they're in the park." Tom answers.
"No, if I'm right they're in a booth at the Pizza King eating. Why would they pull a trick like that on you?" Jane asks.
"I don't know." Tom says defensively.
"If you two don't want to die, go get me some black hair dye!" Jane shouts out at Jessie and Max.
***
"What do we do once Jane realizes we've tricked Tom?" Trent asks. The two had grabbed a booth in the corner so that no one would interrupt them.
"We'll just tell her that we both believe that Tom wants to start a relationship with me." Daria says taking a bite of her slice.
"I thought you...,"
"After spending more time with him I've realized Tom just might be interested in me. I don't think I can handle any sort of relationship with a guy, especially one who's still dating my best friend."
Trent looks thoughtful for a moment. He had enjoyed that little act that they had put on for Tom, but it seemed that Daria had some dark secret that she kept to herself. He decides to press forward and see if he could get her to open up. "Bad experience with someone?"
"You could say that."
"You can't let one bad apple form your opinion."
"Yes I can, especially if that bad apple tried to rape me when I was eleven." she says not realizing that she let it out. Once her brain caught up with her mouth she clamps her hand over her mouth. Trent gets up and sits beside her blocking her only escape route. He puts his arms around her and holds her. He holds on tight and she finally relaxes and takes off her glasses. She silently lets the tears flow. Trent holds her until she calms down.
"You all right?" Trent asks.
"I'm sorry I...,"
"No, don't apologize for that."
"I should be over this, but I guess that old wound still won't heel. To make a long, terrible story short I was almost raped by a guy over twice my age."
"That's why you don't get close to guys."
"I can handle myself when it comes to talking, but intimate contact still scares me." she explains wiping her eyes.
"Hide your eyes, Jane and Tom are here." Trent whispers and she buries her face back into Trent's chest.
"There you two are. Now, what the hell...?" Jane asks but Trent stops her.
"Cool, you've got your hair back to black." Trent says smiling.
"Good of you to notice, but I want to know...,"
"Sorry Janie, I'm not answering any questions. Get out of here now." Trent says starting to lose his temper.
"I just want to know why the two of you...?"
"Get out of here now, and take Slone with you. Daria isn't in the mood to talk."
"I'm not...,"
"Go before I knife him!" Trent demands and Jane jumps a few feet back away from Trent.
"All right, calm down. We're leaving." Jane says getting her wits about her and walking backwards.
***
"What was that all about?" Tom asks as the two left the Pizza King.
"I think that there's more to this than those two pulling a prank on you. What you just saw was Trent's knifer persona coming out. He's most of the time too laid back for his own good. The problem is when he is mad he becomes someone not to mess with. When he's like that the best thing to do is to back off and let the animal calm down."
"Daria shouldn't be near him."
"If he wanted to hurt her he would've already made her a blood stain on the floor. No, he's protecting her from us. She told him something that obviously upset the both of them, at least Daria anyway. Now I think we need to talk about us."
"Us?"
"I dyed my hair to keep things interesting. That should've been the sign that told me that this relationship is over. Let's have a clean break of things that way we can still be friends and not kill each other."
"Deal," Tom says and the two shook on it. 'This may be better for me in the long run. I may be able to get with Daria much easier now.' Tom thinks smirking to himself.
***
"Thanks for bailing us out of that, Trent." Daria says as the two enter her room.
"No problem. I bailed you out of talking to Tom." Trent replies.
"I'll tell Jane about both our little trick and about Todd, later."
"What about Tom?"
"If he makes a move while still with Jane I'll kill him. If he breaks up with her I won't know what to do."
"You want to date him?"
"No, I'm not that interested in him. I guess you felt nothing when we kissed in front of Tom?"
"No, I felt something all right, but I don't want to take you out as long as you're under eighteen. Your mother would probably try to get me thrown in jail."
"How old do you think I am?"
"Seventeen>?"
Daria rolls her eyes at him.
"I'm eighteen, Trent."
"I thought you were just one year ahead of everyone. I mean you're the smartest high schooler I know."
"So it wasn't because I'm short?"
"Nah, I'm not that shallow."
"I appreciate your respect of my intelligence, but my mother wouldn't allow the school system to push me a year ahead at all. I wasn't socially ready to be put ahead like that."
"So, does that mean that you're...?"
"Yep, eighteen and legal to do most things except get drunk." she says and Trent laughs and goes into a fit of coughing.
"Ya wanna hang out this Friday?"
"Sure, I need an excuse to get out of this house." she says and the two smirk.
***
"How did you find this place?" Daria asks Trent as the two were on an old blanket in a secluded part of the park.
"I came across it right after Nick left the Spiral. I came here to relax and think about what to do after the blow out. I didn't sleep here 'cause I didn't want to wake with a cop standing over me."
"It's nice. I ought to come here when I'm trying to write something and Quinn and the fashion police are being abnormally annoying." she says as Trent scoots closer to her and pulls her to him. "I'm going to find it difficult to eat with you cuddling me like that."
"Then I'll feed you." he says and she blushes.
***
'Where's she at?' Tom asks himself. 'I checked her place and the Pizza King but she not at either place. Hey, that's Trent's car parked over there. I'll check if she's with him.' he thinks parking his car and heading into the park himself.
***
"Enjoying yourself?" Trent asks.
"You don't have to pamper me."
"Yeah, but I want to. Besides, I like you sucking the sauce off of my fingers." he replies making the auburn blush.
"Just making sure your fingers are clean."
"Not thinking of something else?"
"Quit stretching your imagination, Lane."
"Hey, a guy can dream can't he?" he asks whispering in her ear. He then gives her earlobe a lick and a nibble.
***
'Where could he be?' Tom asks still walking through the park.
Stop...,tickling...,me!"
'Hey, that sounded like Daria. I better be quiet so they don't notice me.' Tom thinks moving through the trees to see Trent on top of Daria tickling her. He could see an empty pizza box thrown aside.
"Why should I?" Trent asks.
"'Cause I'm ticklish,"
"Not good enough," he says and goes right back to tickling her sides. He had removed her jacket before he had started to tease her.
"When I...,get up...,I'm going...,to kill...,you...,in such...,a painful...,way...!" she says as he continues to tickle her. He then stops to roll the girl onto her stomach. He removes her boots and socks and raps an arm around her ankles. He uses his free hand to tickle her soft feet. She tries to kick out of her predicament but is unsuccessful. He stops again to let the auburn get her breath back.
"I think you've had enough." Trent says, but then he feels her tackle him to the ground.
"You better be willing to finish what you started, Lane." she says huskily. Her blood was on fire from the tickle play. She knew that she was aroused and the next thing that she would do may change her relationship with Trent. Her fears had vanished to be replaced by need, want, and desire. She kisses him hard on the lips. Trent responds by rapping his arms around her and returning the kiss. She sits up to straddle his hips and unzips his pants. She then starts to grind her wet pussy against his semi-aroused cock. It quickly grows to its eight inches with the stimulation.
"You sure?" he asks.
"Yes," she answers. He sits up and raps her legs around his waste.
"You know, this would be better if we...,"
"No, we shouldn't be seen in the nude. Just move aside my panties and thrust in now." she commands. He does as she asks and thrusts in slowly. When he hits her hymen he pushes through and bottoms out in her pussy. He kisses and licks the tears on her face. When she calms down the pain is replaced with desire and she begins to grind herself against him. He starts a steady rhythm as he kisses her and fondles her breast through her shirt. She responds by thrusting back harder and faster. Trent groans as he feels her tight pussy get tighter and he feels her juice coat his cock. With that, he shoots his seed into her clenching pussy. The two fall back with Daria on top of him.
"I needed something like that to get over my fear."
"Where do we go from here?" Trent asks.
"You're mine Lane, and if you try to get away I'll hang you by your manhood."
"All right, just as long as I get to punish you if you get away."
"And what would you do?"
"I don't know," he says rubbing her ass. She blushes at the implication he was making. "Of course, you seem to be very ticklish." he remarks poking her in the side.
"Don't start that again or we'll be here all night." she says smirking.
'Damn you Lane! You've won for now, but I'll be around when you mess up.' Tom thinks as he leaves.
