"Hah hah! I've finally done it!" Jeremy jumped up from his computer and danced around. The group stationed around his room looked at him.
"So... what'd ya finally do, Einstine? Beat Metal Monkey Fury?"
"No, Odd. I beleive that I may've found an anti-virus for Aelita." The pink-haired girl sitting on his bed gasped.
"Oh, really Jeremy!? That's so great!" She beemed happily. "That means that I'll be able to stay here forever!"
"Well, at least as long as you live," Yumi pointed out. Aelita nodded at the reference to death, but continued to beem.
"Does it work?" Ulrich asked, poking Odd's dog, Kiwi.
"I don't know. I want to run to the factory and run some more tests before I do anything. I don't want to make any mistakes that could wind up hurting Aelita in anyway. Who's up for a run to the factory?" The group cheer was interupted by a cell-phone ringing. Odd fumbled with his phone, a grin upon his face.
"Hello. Oh! Grandma! How are you?...yes... I'm eatting just fine..."
"A little too much," Ulrich joked, earning a waved hand from Odd.
"Yes Grandma. I'm listening. It's just that my room mate was teasing me..." Odd frowned suddenly. "What? Are you sure...? And you've already contacted the school?... alright... yeah... I'm going... see you soon." Odd hung up his cell-phone and stared at it for a moment, the frown on his face deepening.
"What is it, Odd? Is everything alright?" Yumi asked, placing a hand on the normally perky boy's shoulder.
"It's my parents..."
"What about them?" Ulrich pushed.
"They were traveling in America and got in an accident. They survived, but are in the hospital. Grandma says that we're going there to see them, and she doesn't know when we'll be back." Odd sighed and stood from where he sat on the floor. "She's coming to get me at noon tomorrow. Sorry... everyone..." Odd left the room, his face pale. Kiwi whimpered and followed his master.

Odd sat on his bed, looking at his now bare walls, next to his jam-packed suitcase. He had lied to his friends. His Grandma wasn't coming at noon. She'd be coming for him at 5, the next morning. They had a 7:30 a.m. flight to New York. He just didn't want to have to face his friends and say goodbye. Curling up on the bed, he closed his eyes and drifted into the last sleep he'd have in that room, in that bed. The thoughts of his friends going on without him going through his head as he fell fast asleep.

"Jeremy... I think we should wait on all this. Odd deserves to be here when it all happens. After all, he's been there for me just like you have. I'm willing to wait longer until shutting down Xana, just for Odd," Aelita said, staring at the door that Odd had walked out of not that long ago. Jeremy was about to protest when his laptop went off. His computer was currently shifting through the images of different towers. Suddenly, the screen cleared and three red towers appeared.
"Xana," Jeremy muttered, staring at the screen. "We go this one without Odd. He needs his rest."
"Three towers? Xana's really out done himself this time." Yumi walked out the door, followed by the others. Nobody noticed the fourth tower appear behind the other three.

<4:30 a.m.>

Odd woke up as his alarm clock sounded. Quickly turning it off, he gazed over at the bed his room mate and friend usually occupied. It was empty. Sighing, he stood and picked up Kiwi, before placing the small dog in a duffle bag. Then, carrying the duffle bag and the suitcase, he went out into the hallway where Jim was waiting. The gym teacher took Odd's suitcase and led him out into the parking lot where a car was waiting. Jim placed the suitcase in the trunk before turning to Odd.
"I can't believe I'm actually going to say this, but I'm going to miss you. Weren't your friends going to come and say goodbye?"
"I didn't want to bother them. I'm terrible at goodbyes."
"Well... see ya kid. I hope everything goes alright for you." Odd climbed into the car with the duffle bag in his lap. He watched sadly as Cadic High and all his memories left his sight.
"Odd, dear. Why don't you get some sleep. I'll wake you when we get to the airport." Odd nodded at his grandma's voice. Even though he had slept, he felt tired. Without a word, he fell asleep, unable to hear Kiwi's growls. The woman in the driver's seat flicked and then turned black. The car soon left Cadic and France behind.

<6:15 a.m.>
The Lyoko gang returned to school, Yumi having told her parents the night before that she was staying with Aelita on campus for the night. They trudged up the school steps as Sissi came out.
"Must be lonely without the dork of your group. Now who are you going to find to make all sorts of idiotis comments?" she laughed.
"What do you mean? Odd hasn't left yet," Yumi snapped, her lack of sleep from fighting Xana's monsters all night showing. Sissi's eyes widened for a moment, then went back to normal.
"You don't know? Odd grandmother came for him at 5 'o clock this morning. They have a 7:30 flight to catch and his grandma wanted to get there and make it through customs." Sissi laughed and walked away, Herb and Nickolas following her.
"Odd... left already?" Ulrich muttered. His eyes drifted upward towards where their dorm room was. Then he took off at a run towards it.

Odd's side of the dorm room was empty. Not even a lone sock was stuffed behind the dorm issued pillow. Ulrich flopped on his bed just as Jeremy, Yumi, and Aelita entered the room.
"Sorry, Ulrich. I know how much you wanted to say goodbye to Odd. He was, after all, your best friend." Yumi sat down beside Ulrich and pulled him into a hug. Choking back a sob, he buried his face into her shoulder.
"He lied... he lied to us..." Jeremy pushed his glasses back up on his nose with a sigh.
"He hates saying goodbye. He probably saw you gone and figured that it was a good time for him to sneak away."
"You know what? He'll probably call us from the airport, to tell us goodbye then," Aelita said, hoping to get a smile out of Ulrich. And a smile she got. Ulrich looked up at her with a grin.
"Yeah. You're right. And then he'll probably want to know what the cafeteria is serving for breakfast." The whole group laughed at that.
"Mmm... panacakes and bacon!? My favorite!" Yumi joked, immitating Odd. That got another laugh out of the group.
"You see? With our memories of Odd, he's not really gone. Besides. He'll be back as soon as his parents get better." No sooner had Aelita said that, then Jeremy's cell-phone rang. Jeremy answered it on the second ring.
"Hello? Oh! Mrs. Delahoya! Are you out of the hospital?... what do you mean you were never in the hospital. But Odd's Grandmother said... she's with you?... in Italy...? No... I don't know where Odd is. I'll see if I can find him and then get right back to you. Alright... have a plesant stay in Italy. Right... bye..." Jeremy hung up, a dismayed look on his face.
"What's wrong?" Yumi asked.
"It's Odd... he's not with his grandma, and he's not going towards America. His parents and his grandma are in Italy... on vacation." Jeremy slammed his head into the wall on Odd's side of the room. Aelita looked thoughtful for a moment, then grabbed Jeremy's laptop.
"As I thought... there's another activated tower."
"What!?" Jeremy, Ulrich, and Yumi said at the same time.
"To activate four towers at once... amazing. Xana must be getting stronger," Jeremy said, looking over Aelita's shoulder at the red tower on the screen.
"So the thing Xana's after right now is Odd?" Ulrich asked, standing up from the bed.
"Apparently. Xana must want to seperate all of us, so he took Odd."
Yumi looked at Jeremy, a shocked look spreading across her face. "What do you think he'll do to Odd?"
"Hmm... make it to where Odd can't get back, seriously hurt him, or worse... kill him." There was a thud.
"We have to find him!"
"I know Ulrich, but the best we can do for him right now is to deactivate this last tower."
"Thank goodness it's Sunday, otherwise we'd have to go to class," Yumi said, yawning.
"Let's get to the factory and see what we can do."

Kiwi was trying to wake his master up. Some time ago, the fake grandma had vanished, as a tower in Lyoko was deactivated. But now the car was set on cruise control along a road. But, for some strange reason, Odd wouldn't wake up, no matter how much the dog barked. Then the grey dog noticed something. The road was coming steadily to an end, with a cliff at the end of it. Growling in fustration, Kiwi did something he'd never done before. He opened his mouth and bit his owner. Odd yelped and waved his arms around, the bite successfully waking him up.
"Kiwi! You bit me!" Rubbing the wounded arm, Odd sat up and looked around. "Grandma? Where are we? Grandma? Grandma!?" With no one in the driver's seat, Odd began to panic. Fumbling with the lock on his door, he just barely managed to jump with Kiwi as the car went over the side of the cliff. Even so, he landed wrong and fell backwards, following the car down the side. To his luck though, he hit a ledge and stayed, while the car continued down into a fiery crash.

A.N- Thankyou to Trav and Anon for reveiwing. Trav... I would love to post this story on FF.net, except for the fact that my computer freezes everytime I go there. Besides... there might be some adult content to this soon... I haven't decided yet.
