Day 7

This is my Last update before I take a week off again It's day 7 seven so I finished the first week, I hope you like the story I really do, if you have suggestions please do give them, I always like to see what other people think. Now on to the story.

Day 7: July seventh: Picking up young ones

Astrid wakes me up late in the morning, we miss breakfast, but with some convincing Tiana manages to give us a basket with food in it. it’s not much but enough for Astrid and me. When we leave through the backdoor of the kitchen the whole camp seems to be in an uproar. A large amount of children runs to front gate where several older men and women are waiting for them. “What’s happening?” I ask Astrid. “The parents of the younger children can leave with their children from now one for the entire day.” She explains. We move to the calmed of the lake. There are some young children still hanging around. Astrid and I set down in the grass in the sun. We unpack the breakfast, several pastries and a bottle of orange juice appear from the basket alongside with a blanket, a plate and 2 cups We eat our breakfast mostly in silence, the children that still hang around by the lake seem to be the most noisy ones. We do our best to ignore them and in the end they leave us alone. Once we finished our first meal we bring the basket back and go back to the lake. “So what are we going to do?” I ask sitting down under a tree that’s on the farthest side of the field, no one is paying attention to us. Astrid sits down on my lap and leans in for a kiss. Her lips press against mine and I answer  the kiss with great pleasure. Through the jeans of my pants I feel Astrid grinding herself against me. We break from our kiss and I look at her. “I figured we couldn’t do this.” I remark. “Only if there’s a chance of anyone really noticing, or do you want me to stop?” Astrid answer, stopping for a moment. “Please don’t.” I answer as I pull her close again to give her a kiss. She answers the kiss and I push my hips to meet hers. We kept moving for a while but the fact that we were still clothed kept us back. Finally we stopped. “So how was that?” Astrid asked straightening her hair. I get up and pull her up too. “Did I make it worse?” Astrid asks. “No you didn’t.” I answer. “That’s good, so what you want to do now?” Astrid asks. We start walking back to the middle of the field. I take a look at my clock to see it’s already late and almost time for lunch. “You know what’s odd it seems the only thing we’ve done today is lay in the grass and eaten is that normal?” I ask Astrid. “The first week it normally is but it gets better.” She answers. Since we don’t feel hungry we decide to stay on the field and just relax the rest of the day. “That’s fine by me but then I’ll want to pick up a book or something.” Astrid asks I agree and follow her back to the hut. We open the door and find Danny in bed with some random blonde girl.  Astrid gives a cough when they don’t react to the opening of the door. The duo jumps up and tries their best to cover them up. “Oh please don’t mind us, we’ll be gone in just a few moments.” She then apologizes. I smile a little and grab my laptop and Ipod from my locker. We leave as quickly as we came leaving the couple alone again.

We walk back to the lake and sit down under our normal tree. Astrid leans back and opens up her book. I power on my laptop and log in on the instant messenger, immediately a message pops up

David: Hey Jake boy how’s it going there?

Jake: Fine

David: and with your girl

Jake: Fine as well I guess

Several other people show up in the conversation

Amin: Hey Jake

Simon: Hey

Jake: hey guys, anyone seen Victoria?

Simon: her computer blew up in her face, she’s fine but the computer’s dead

Jake: so how’s things been with all of you

David: Boring I need something to do

Simon: Yeah got any ideas Jake?

Jake: Nope not right away and you Amin?

Amin: Nope no idea’s and its sandy over here. And over there Jake how’s everything with you?

Simon: Yeah Jake tell us

Jake: You know the usual diving, laying next to the lake, going for walks in the forest, that sort of stuff.

Simon: So, you haven’t used those condoms yet?

David: Simon stop thinking with you dick you pervert

Jake: yeah what he said

Simon: I’m sorry, so did you

Jake: No now stop asking

Simon: Alright, alright. So anything else

Jake: No

David: You sure?

I decide not to tell Amin and Simon of Astrid just yet and reply negative to David’s question we talk on about other stuff. Astrid sometimes looks up from her book to read what I’m talking about. I gently move the conversation away from my occupations here but pay for it by having to listen to Amin’ nagging about the dessert. Finally I tell them I got to go, David stays quiet and I close down the messenger and laptop.

I look at my watch and see its around 6 o’clock. “Come on we should get some dinner.” Astrid said “Again, I’m not even hungry.” I answered, Astrid smiled but still dragged me to the cantina, stopping for a brief moment at the hut to drop off our stuff. We walked into the cantina and picked up a plate of food, we looked around and found Danny and the mystery girl sitting next to him, she was now wearing a white short dress. We sit down across from them. “Hey, I’m Naminé.” The girl introduces herself. “Jake, sorry about earlier.” I apologize for Astrid and me walking in on them. “No problem.” She says. “Say Naminé wasn’t there this rule that said no screwing around when the parents are here to pick their children up.” Astrid says. “We couldn’t resist.” Danny reasons. “Just don’t get caught.” Astrid answers. We eat the rest of our dinner in a comfortable silence, the entire cantina seems to be some sort of tense. There are no loud noises to be heard everyone is calm, occasionally there are some quiet talks but no one really talks a lot. Astrid takes me after our dinner to the hut. “So Jake, listen, there’s this ritual around here like a rite of passage and since your new everyone thinks you should take at as well.” Astrid says laying down on the bed. “And what does that mean?” I ask. “Simple you’ll see.” She answers cryptically. I flip down next to her and close my eyes for a while. “Hey Jake wake up, we got to go.” I hear a voice call out somewhere from the dark. I barely know how to answer I just grumble a little. “Jake get out now!” I hear another voice say followed by a slap in the face. “You didn’t have to hit him.” Astrid shouts at Danny. “It worked didn’t it.” Danny defends himself. I get up and punch Danny in the face. “Now we’re even.” I say and straighten my clothes. “Come we’ve got to get you ready.” Astrid says and she guides me to bathroom. “Take of your clothes.” She says. I pull of my T shirt and trousers. “Everything.” Astrid says with a smile. My boxers soon follow the rest of my clothes. Astrid grabs a jar and tells me to turn around. I feel Astrid’s fingers pass over my back drawing lines over my back with some sort of cold paint. She paints my entire body with lines including my face. After she’s done with the paint she hands me a pair of boxers. “Put these on.” She says. I grab the boxers and pull them over my butt. I follow Astrid outside and look around, the entire camp is dark, somewhere in the direction of the lake I see a collection of flickering lights. Astrid takes me to the lake, there the entire camp seems to be waiting. I large pathway is made clear to the pier, I walk it and on both side are people some of them I know others I don’t. On the pier I can see several silhouettes. I recognize several of them when I’m closer. There is Melody, Mirana and Lex and then 3 others I don’t know. One of them is a boy, he has pitch black hair and seems to come from Arabia, the second one I don’t know is a girl, I walk past her but I notice her not following me with her eyes when I glance back I see she’s blind, the last one, a girl as well seems to be the only normal one of the trio I don’t know. I stand next to the redhead on the pier and see that Astrid has vanished. I look back at Mirana and Lex to see them wearing fine clothes behind them is a table with 7 glasses on it. Mirana raises her voice, silencing the crowd on the shore. “Campers, these are your new brothers and sisters in this camp, respect them and do them no harm.” She addresses the crowd. She then turns to us. “You, the new campers will have to swear secrecy for this camp and you will have to go through our custom.” Mirana says. Lex and her step forward each holding several small glasses. Mirana gives me one and moves back to her place. “Now one by one drink and board the ship.” She commands. One by one the younger children drink their glass until it’s my turn. I look at the glass and smell the alcohol in it. This is most likely vodka or something similar. I’m not a big fan of vodka but still I throw the glass back and swallow the burning drink. I put the glass down and look at the Boat or more likely raft that’s waiting for me. I get on the raft and see Lex pushing us of. We start drifting off to the lake. I look at my fellow passenger. Melody comes closer to me and sits down next to me. “Hey Melody, any idea what the point of this is?” I ask her. The raven haired girl looks at me and replies negative. “There’ll be a letter waiting on the other side.” The red haired girl says. The raft sinks in silence no one actually talks, the lights from the shore seem to become a blur. The raft seems to hit land again, we jump of in walk further, a single torch is burning next to an old cabin. I walk over and see an envelope hanging next to the torch. I grab and look back to see the youngster closing in. I wait till they’re all around and open the envelop. I look at it and start reading it out loud, reading it is difficult because of the lack of light but I do my best. “Bestest new comers, we are proud that you have agreed to take the vow now you must take a ritual to prove your loyalty to it. Each one of you have instructions you will follow these, when you return to the camp you will be full campers. Best of luck, Mirana and Lex.” I look up after reading the letter. “Now what?” The boy asks. “We follow the instructions.” The blind girl answers. I pass out the envelops and open mine. I read the envelop silent now, it states my assignment is to wait 5 hours in the forest on a specific place. I follow the instructions and end up in a small open place. I sit down and look around, the grass under me is rather soft I lay down to get some sleep, maybe that way the 5 hours will pass quickly. I don’t fall asleep fast, the air is cold and I don’t have a lot of clothes on me. Finally I manage to drift off into some sort of unawareness of the area.

I return from the trancelike sleep and look around. Not having a clock I make a guess by the light that shines on me. I assume I’ve only slept for 4 hours I look around and try to get some more sleep. Unfortunately after a short 10 minutes I realize I won’t get any more sleep on the cold and now damp grass floor. I get back up and walk around on the small clearing. The lights of the camp are not visible anymore I sit back down and listen to the sound of the trees. I hear no birds or anything else, an eerie silence has fallen over the forest. I turn my attention to my thoughts and the events of the last week. In one week I had screwed around with more girls then I had before in my entire life. Another question was raised in my head. How was it possible that no one ever brought this to the public. That oath won’t be enough to be quiet, it’s just an oath there are always people who betray that. Or maybe there is something else that I don’t know, like more things like for example who or what build this camp, it seems highly unlikely someone build this camp with the idea of teenagers screwing around here all day. I make a note in my head to ask this to Astrid or someone else. I come back from my pondering when I see a light dancing around in the forest. I figure it’s just a light of someone going back to the hut. I decide I might as well return too, my 5 hours are finished after all. I walk back and reach the cabin and see the other 4 teenagers waiting. I walk over. “Hey, Jake there you are, you’re the last one.” Melody says. “I guess so, so now what?” I ask. “We get into the warmth.” The red haired girl says, she shows a key and opens the door to the cabin with it. Inside there is a fireplace burning, a huge bed, it seems made up from several beds hung together. On a large table against the wall is a small buffet. I walk into the room and see another envelope laying on the bed. I open it and read quickly, it says we have to stay in the cabin or around it until tomorrow night, and they will come to pick us up after it. I flip down on the bed and close my eyes to get some sleep, before I doze off I feel a body laying down on both sides of me, the bodies cuddle closer I don’t care whose bodies it are I welcome their warmth and fall too sleep.
