Chapter 9 - Betrayal! The Finals Are Close At Hand!

(we open up the ninth chapter with Ikuko and Vexus in their hotel room. Ikuko is consoling the visibly upset Vexus, who witnessed Ringo John convorting with another woman and making her look like a fool.)
Ikuko: (consoling) There there, Vexus-sama. You didn't expect Ringo to betray you.
Vexus: (crying) How was I to know, Ikuko?! *sniff* How was I to know that two-timer was fooling around and backstab me like that! (continues crying)
Ikuko: Well, that's how competition goes, Vexus. People will try to take advantage of you so they can get the top lead. I'm sorry that it happened to you even after what you went through back in Japan.
(Vexus then has a minute of thought and finally decides to speak.)
Vexus: Ikuko...
Ikuko: Yes?
Vexus: I haven't really been honest with you about something. Remember when I called my home planet on the video phone the other night?
Ikuko: Of course.
Vexus: Well, the person I was contacting was Chrom... my real boyfriend.
Ikuko: (shocked) Really?
Vexus: Yes. Him and I had a vow to not tell of our plans until I've won the tournament.
Ikuko: What plans would that be?
Vexus: This. (she then takes something out of her wrist compartment-- her engagement ring. Ikuko is now really shocked about her friend.)
Ikuko: You mean--? (Vexus nods) But why didn't you tell Ringo John about it?
Vexus: I was keeping my promise on keeping our marriage plans a secret. But now with Ringo John breaking my heart and betraying me, I have no other choice to be honest with you about it.
Ikuko: (comforting) It's all right. You can be honest with me about it; I promise not to tell anybody else until the tournament ends.
Vexus: Thank you, Ikuko. You're such a good friend. I just don't know what to do right now.
Ikuko: Tell you what-- you'll defeat Fifi in tomorrow's round and I'll defeat Ringo; that way, we'll face each other under fair circumstances in the finals. Agreed?
Vexus: Agreed.
(Ikuko hugs Vexus out of respect. Cut to the arena the next day. Vexus and Fifi are in the battlefield, waiting for the opening call.)
Fifi: So, you must be ze robot Ringo John told me about, no?
Vexus: I am. And I'm sure that I'll never forgive neither of you for making a fool out of me!
Fifi: (chuckles in contempt) You talk big words, but do you have ze gameplan to back it up?
Vexus: We'll see, Fifi... we'll see.
Announcer: (on PA) 3... 2... 1... GO!
(almost immediately on cue, Vexus and Fifi jump above the groud and proceed to attack each other on command. With what had been happening the day before, this seems more like a robotic catfight. So far, it appears that Vexus has the upperhand until Fifi uses her feather duster on her face as a distraction. As Vexus tries to shake the dust off around her, Fifi attacks with a sucker punch to the face.)
Vexus: Grrr... You fight dirty for a maid.
Fifi: (mock-modesty) Moi? That dirty? Oh, no no no no, madamoiselle. That is just my fighting style.
Vexus: Really? Does that include sleeping with your opponents as well?
Fifi: (offended) *gasp!* You have insulted Fifi! My beauty is superior to your's!
Vexus: At least I don't take advantage of it like you do, whore!
(in a mad fury, Fifi lunges towards Vexus to strike a blow, but Vexus dodges the attack. Before Fifi can regain her thoughts, Vexus counters with several devastating punches and kicks to her body. This leaves Fifi in a daze as Vexus puts up her claws and proceeds to slice Fifi's stomach. As Fifi cries out in agony, Vexus puts her head between her legs and proceeds to flip her down onto the arena floor, ending the match.)
Announcer: Fi-69 is down! Vex-20 advances to the next round!
(as the crowd cheers, Vexus looks down at the mortally wounded Fifi as the robot peramedics take care of her.)
Vexus: (in thought) ^Serves her right. I hope Itsuko keeps her promise for a fair final round.^
(at that moment, we then switch to the next fight between Ikuko Suzuki and Ringo John Roboshire. It appears that both of them are equally matched in their skills as Ikuko attacks with her sword while Ringo John deflects them with his guitar.)
Ringo John: You're quite skilled for a samurai bird!
Ikuko: (stern and focused) I get that a lot. (continues her attack on the Beatle-bot)
Ringo John: So I see. (deflects each blow) And I suppose that you're defending your friend's honor? *hmph* Which is more than she ever did...
Ikuko: Quiet you! You tricked my friend into falling in love with you! And you would expect to win with your cheating ways?
Ringo John: Maybe so. But with Fifi out of the picture, I'll just defeat Vexus!
Ikuko: Not if I beat you!
(she then lunges with her sword to strike, but Ringo dodges once again. Out of anger, Ikuko throws a shuriken onto Ringo's face which reaches its target.)
Ringo John: (in pain) Agh! My face! (notices the cut on his cheek, which is bleeding oil, and covers it with his hand) You've cut my face; I'll make you pay for that!
Ikuko: Now you know how Vexus felt when you hurt her feelings.
Ringo John: (incensed) What feelings?! She's nothing but a slut! Don't you see that?!
Ikuko: (gets her sword ready) That "slut" is my friend!
(she then glides over to do another strike, but as she reaches her target, music starts to play. As a last ditch effort, Ringo John plays a tune on his electric guitar, which causes the females in the audience to go wild. Ikuko clutches her hearing sensors/ears in pain, because both the guitar and the screams are at high volume.)
Ikuko: Nandeyanen?! What type of akuma can deliver a painful noise such as this?!
(but before she can get an answer, Ringo John swerves by and proceeds to give her an overhead blow to the head with his guitar. The force of the blow lands her straight onto the arena floor, thus losing the match.)
Announcer: Suzuki-101 has lost! RR-1 advances to the finals!
(Ringo John basks in his newfound victory, thus being one step closer to victory. Moments later, Vexus comes out on to the field to check on her defeated friend.)
Vexus: Ikuko! What happened?
Ikuko: (struggles to get on her feet) That limey-toad blindsided me. He played his guitar at high volume and nearly overloaded my hearing sensors.
Vexus: I saw that. I suppose that's his most powerful attack.
Ikuko: My friend, even though I failed to reach the finals, you must be aware of his attacks. Make sure he never plays his guitar in tomorrow's finals. Understand?
Vexus: (nods) Understood. (she then looks up to see her former lover and now hated rival basking in glory. She bores a deep hole of disgust and hatred for what he did to her.)
(we then cut to the backstage area, where Ringo John is still smiling wickedly as he goes to the finals the next day. He then passes by Vexus, who immediately notices him.)
Vexus: Ringo John...
(he then stops and turns to see her standing in front of him.)
Ringo John: You again, luv? (smugly) I wouldn't be too surprised that it comes down to this: me, the robot that is popular with all the ladies of London; and you, the one that fell for me throughout the tournament.
Vexus: Cut the pleasantries, Ringo. Your plan to win this competition with your cheating ways ended when I defeated your little French whore!
Ringo John: You mean Fifi? *hmph!* She's just another trophy bird in my robotic lifespan; not that she's the only one of those conquests.
Vexus: Enough! I just want you to know how much you violated me in your dressing room and lied to me!
Ringo John: Oh, it's not my fault that you've got raped by some robots months after you were created! Besides, with the way we had sex back there, it looks like you never regretted it.
(with that said, an angered Vexus launchs her claws besides Ringo John's head. The moment is very tense, since Ringo brought up Vexus' troubled upbringing. She then retracts her claws away from her hated lover.)
Vexus: Consider this moment an example of things to come. (walks away from Ringo John, leaving him in a mixed emotion or shock and anger.)
(we then cut to the next day; the day of the finals. On one side of the arena is Vexus, the other side is Ringo John. The two robots look at each other with spite mixed with determination on winning the tournament. Each robot waits for the first move as the announcer counts down.)
Announcer: (on PA) It is now time for our final match of the 1964 World Robot Competition! Vexus, from Cluster Prime; and Ringo John Roboshire, from England, are now ready to begin! (begins countdown) Three... (Ringo John puts his hand on his guitar neck from behind his back) Two... (Vexus glares at him) One... GO!!!!
(on cue, both robots jump towards the air. Before Vexus can get started, Ringo John immediately goes on the attack swinging his guitar like a bat. Thankfully, Vexus dodges each of these blows and manages deliver a few punches and kicks to her opponent.)
Vexus: Had enough?
Ringo John: You won't defeat me that easily!
(he then starts to play several deadly chords from his guitar. Vexus sees it coming and produces a sound-proof force-field for protection. Ringo John seems surprised at this form of defense.)
Ringo John: Bloody hell! A force-field that blocks sound waves? How can a bird like you come equiped with that?!
Vexus: (as the force-field disappears) I come from a planet that's more far advanced than your puny little homeworld. When I win this competition, you'll know exactly how I felt in the terms of betrayal!
Ringo John: (comes to his senses) Not bloody likely!
(he then lunges for an overhead blow, but Vexus flies out of the way. As he tries to find her, Vexus builds up a glowing red energy from the jewel on her forehead. When Ringo looks up, Vexus' releases the energy at full power to her opponent, electricuting him in the process. Afterwards, as he's ridden with soot, Vexus delivers a powerful kick that sends Ringo John to the arena floor, thus ending the match, and thus the tournament.)
Announcer: (on PA) RR-1 is down! Vex-20 is the new champion!
(the crowd cheers for Vexus. Although she won, she looks coldly down at the soot-riddened opponent that she once fell in love, but she does gesture to the crowd at a certain moment.)
(we then cut to the landing dock of Cluster Prime the next day. So far, we only see Chrom and a few drones standing alongside him as they await for the ship. Moments later, it arrives and touches ground. When Vexus exits the ship, Chrom looks on in a sense of joy.)
Chrom: (overjoyed) Ah, Vexus! At least you're home! We've heard of your victory; the first Cluster Prime had in years!
Vexus: (mixed emotions) I suppose.
Chrom: (senses her discomfort) What's wrong?
Vexus: (struggles) It's just that... that... (tears start to form on her face and begins to cry)
Chrom: (concerned) Did something happen my dear?
Vexus: (in tears) Chrom... I did something horrible. (Chrom arches an eyebrow) While at the tournament, I've met and fell in love with another male contestant. He returned those feelings at one point and we... we... (cries as Chrom hugs her as support)
Chrom: (comforting) I could understand why you would cheat on me; we did have to keep a secret after all.
Vexus: It's not just that.
Chrom: Oh?
Vexus: I later founded out that he cheated on me with another robot, thereby using me to get ahead! (sniffs some tears away) I've been violated twice in my lifespan!
(this causes Chrom to look shocked at his love's misery. He then narrows his eyes together as if he is upset. He then lets go of the hug and walks towards the landing dock. Vexus is unsure of this sudden change of events and she follows him.)
Vexus: My love, it's not like I knew what he was planning, but- (gets cut off as Chrom suddenly kisses her on the lips, leaving Vexus in a confused state. He then lets go of the kiss.)
Chrom: (stern) Where is he?
Vexus: Britain; planet Earth.
Chrom: (stern) Good. I'll go deal with him myself. (he then slashes his hands against the air, thus creating a dimensional portal in which he soon enters, closing the portal in the process. Vexus stands there unsure of Chrom's change of attitude.)
(we then cut to a British pub. It seems that every patron is in a jovial mood with the exception of Ringo John Roboshire, who is drinking some alcholic motor oil in order to drown his sorrows about his loss. It is then that a cloaked stranger sits at the bar beside him.)
Stranger: Hard times, eh?
Ringo John: (depressingly drunk) You think it was hard, mate?! Hard?! I was supposed to be the winner of that bleedin' robot tournament and now look at me!
Stranger: I see that you haven't taken your loss well?
Ringo John: Are you bloody kidding me?! I'm modeled after the Beatles! I'm supposed to be treated like a Lord! But now I'm the latest laughingstock of Londontown! And it's all thanks to that bleedin' cunt of a whore from Cluster Prime!
Stranger: You know, I suggest that you should be careful who you're calling a whore around my presence. (as he speaks, he lifts his head a little to reveal his face)
(before Ringo John could respond, he gets blasted out of the pub and through the pub's window by a laser blast. As he struggles to get himself up, he soon sees the stranger he's been talking to revealing himself to the viewers as Chrom. Ringo John is scared out of his wits and uses his rocket boosters to get away from Chrom, who soon follows suit. The chase is now on as Chrom fires laser beams and Ringo John dodges each blast. As they reach Big Ben, the famous clock tower, Ringo John tries to steer clear of the clock tower, but Chrom soon catches up to him and proceeds to put his hands onto the British robot's neck. Chrom, with Ringo John in tow, lands on the edge of one of the clock faces.)
Ringo John: (scared) What the bloody hell do you want from me?!
Chrom: (angered) You dare seduce the woman I loved and played with her heart like a wicked game! As the prince of Cluster Prime, I will not stand for it!
Ringo John: (comes to a realization) You're her boyfriend? (Chrom nods) Are you daft?! She's nothing more then some robotic bird that gets seduced quite easily! She's a whore! Don't you see that?!
Chrom: (camera now focuses on him, showing that his eyes turning red for another shot) That "whore"... is... my... wife!!!
(he then shoots the camera dead-on as we hear Ringo John's voice scream out in total agony. Fade out.)

Chrom: (stern) Good. I'll go deal with him myself. (he then slashes his hands against the air, thus creating a dimensional portal in which he soon enters, closing the portal in the process. Vexus stands there unsure of Chrom's change of attitude.)
(we then cut to a British pub. It seems that every patron is in a jovial mood with the exception of Ringo John Roboshire, who is drinking some alcholic motor oil in order to drown his sorrows about his loss. It is then that a cloaked stranger sits at the bar beside him.)
Stranger: Hard times, eh?
Ringo John: (depressingly drunk) You think it was hard, mate?! Hard?! I was supposed to be the winner of that bleedin' robot tournament and now look at me!
Stranger: I see that you haven't taken your loss well?
Ringo John: Are you bloody kidding me?! I'm modeled after the Beatles! I'm supposed to be treated like a Lord! But now I'm the latest laughingstock of Londontown! And it's all thanks to that bleedin' cunt of a whore from Cluster Prime!
Stranger: You know, I suggest that you should be careful who you're calling a whore around my presence. (as he speaks, he lifts his head a little to reveal his face)
(before Ringo John could respond, he gets blasted out of the pub and through the pub's window by a laser blast. As he struggles to get himself up, he soon sees the stranger he's been talking to revealing himself to the viewers as Chrom. Ringo John is scared out of his wits and uses his rocket boosters to get away from Chrom, who soon follows suit. The chase is now on as Chrom fires laser beams and Ringo John dodges each blast. As they reach Big Ben, the famous clock tower, Ringo John tries to steer clear of the clock tower, but Chrom soon catches up to him and proceeds to put his hands onto the British robot's neck. Chrom, with Ringo John in tow, lands on the edge of one of the clock faces.)
Ringo John: (scared) What the bloody hell do you want from me?!
Chrom: (angered) You dare seduce the woman I loved and played with her heart like a wicked game! As the prince of Cluster Prime, I will not stand for it!
Ringo John: (comes to a realization) You're her boyfriend? (Chrom nods) Are you daft?! She's nothing more then some robotic bird that gets seduced quite easily! She's a whore! Don't you see that?!
Chrom: (camera now focuses on him, showing that his eyes turning red for another shot) That "whore"... is... my... wife!!!
(he then shoots the camera dead-on as we hear Ringo John's voice scream out in total agony. Fade out.)
