Chapter 6

Mitsuki was in the kitchen and had just finished cooking breakfast. She set the table and dished out servings for her and her blonde roommate. Lily walked in fully dressed and took her seat at the table, wincing a little as she sat on her sore ass. She took a look at her plate.

“Mitsuki, what’s this?”

“It’s your favorite. Blueberry pancakes.”

Lily looked back at her plate, and with no hesitation pushed it off the table and let it crash to the floor. Mitsuki started at the sudden sound of the ceramic plate shattering on the linoleum. She took a look at the mess on the floor and then up at Lily who only smiled back at her.

“Oops. Oh well I was on a diet anyway and that crap looked fattening.”

Mitsuki looked hurt, “But I made that just for you.”

Lily had a bored look on her face, “And I should care why?”

Mitsuki couldn’t believe the words coming from Lily’s mouth. Lily usually acted like she was superior to other people, but she had never been like this. To Mitsuki, Lily was being a little cruel. The blue haired actress racked her brain, trying to find a reasonable answer to why Lily was acting like this.

“Lily are … are you mad at me for what I did this morning? Because, I’m really sorry about it. I realize I was out of line and I understand if you are mad at me.”

Mitsuki then looked down at her feet, feeling ashamed of her earlier actions toward her best friend. She looked back up when she heard Lily’s chair being pushed backwards. Lily stood up and walked over to Mitsuki. The blonde tilted her friend’s chin so she could look her in the eyes.

“Mitsuki. You. Are. Pathetic. I just can’t believe I’m friends with a crybaby like you. Do yourself a favor and grow a spine.”

Lily then spat in Mitsuki’s face and knocked her chair over while she was still in it. Mitsuki was unharmed, but in complete shock.

“Lily, why are you acting like this?!”

Lily kicked Mitsuki in the side and then pressed her foot down on Mitsuki’s stomach.

“Because I can, that’s why.”

Mitsuki’s eyes began to tear up, “Lily please stop!”

Lily pressed her foot into Mitsuki’s stomach a little harder.

“Why don’t you make me?”

The words had barely left her lips when Mitsuki slipped from underneath Lily and pinned the blonde actress to the wall. Tears were flowing from her eyes. Mitsuki pushed lily towards the door while she still had some control over her temper. She opened the door and unceremoniously tossed Lily out of the apartment. Lily barely managed to gain her footing and turned, only to be met with the door being slammed in her face.

Lily began to pound on the door, “Hey! Let me in!”

“No! Fuck off!”

Lily froze, Mitsuki NEVER swore. Not even on the rare occasions she was angry. Something had gone wrong. Lily had thought if she picked on Mitsuki and harassed her a little, she would get to see the dominating side of Mitsuki she had seen that morning. But instead she had gone too far and crushed the normally sweet girl’s feelings.

Lily knocked on the door gently, “Mitsuki?”

She was answered by the sound of something being shattered as it was thrown at the door.

“I said fuck off!”

Lily stepped back from the door, “But…I …I’m sorry.”

“Lily?”

Lily turned to see Gonard, dressed in his casual clothes and halfway through eating one of his sub sandwiches.

“You ok Lily?”

Lily forced a smile, “Couldn’t be better!”

Gonard wasn’t the smartest guy in Tokyo but he knew when someone was troubled.

“Are you sure I heard someone yelling, and I think I heard a cuss word!”

Lily pinched the bridge of her nose. Why did he have to be so freakin’ immature all the time!? This would be the point where she insulted him, but now was no the time.

“Mitsuki is upset and kicked me out. I think she wants to be alone for a while.”

An idiotic grin plastered itself across Gonard’s face, “Whenever I get upset my mom makes me a sandwich and gives me a big hug. I bet that’ll cheer her up!”

Gonard made his way to the door. Lily grabbed onto his arm before he could reach for the doorknob.

“Gonard, I don’t think that would be a good idea. She is in a really bad mood.”

His idiotic grin grew, “Don’t worry there’s nothing fancy Gonard can’t handle!”

Placing a top hat on his head he entered the apartment.

“Cheers!”

A split second later a high pitch scream could be heard along with the sounds of a struggle. The door opened and Gonard came out, slamming the door shut behind him. His clothes were torn, he had a black eye, and it looked at though a cat had scratched him across the face. He let out a sigh of relief now that he had escaped.

“Wow, she is angry! What happened?”
“I really don’t want to talk about it.”

Gonard placed a hand on her shoulder, “You should. Come on we’ll go to my apartment.”

Lily sat at the dining room table in Gonard’s apartment. Gonard was rummaging through the fridge. He got what he was looking for, two sandwiches, and sat at the table next to Lily. He held out one sandwich to the blonde diva.

Lily shook her head, eating something Gonard had made was usually asking for food poisoning. Gonard shrugged and crammed both sandwiches down his throat. He smiled, obviously content with himself and then turned his attention to Lily.

“So what’s wrong with Mitsuki?”

Lily took a deep breath. She told him about everything that had happened that morning, not including the part about her receiving a spanking. When she finished Gonard shook his head and let out a sigh.

“I knew you could be mean Lily but I never guessed you’d ever be that mean, especially to your best friend.”

“I know!! I feel bad enough as it is so just drop it ok?! Mitsuki probably hates my guts right now and I feel like a real bitch for what I did!”

The next few moments were silent. Lily looked anywhere in the room but at Gonard. Gonard let out another sigh.

“Lily, Mitsuki is mad at you but that doesn’t mean she hates you. Give her some time to cool down and then apologize. Tell why you did what you did. Maybe get her a gift to show her how sorry you truly are.”

Lily blinked. Then she smiled a little. For someone who had the IQ of a child he could be really smart sometimes. She got up, thanked him and left. She went out onto the streets and made her way to the shopping district.
