Chapter 5 - One Kiss (Is A Dangerous Drug)

(this chapter starts off in a different setting. It is in black-and-white, and it takes place in an average home-like kitchen in the countryside, where we see some one preparing a meal. Judging from the figure, it is a female. When she turns around, she reveals herself as Trinako, only wearing a blouse and skirt underneath an apron. She is kneading some dough to make bread when she hears the door open. She turns her attention to the source. We switch over there as well, as we see a male individual holding some logs and placing them beside the fireside one by one. As he sets each log down, he reveals himself as Chrom, wearing a white shirt with three of the buttons opened and black slacks. As he does so, he keeps a narrow gaze to Trinako as she looks at him back. She continues to knead the bread as she looks at Chrom, despite that at one point of kneading it, she places onto her breasts. These two robots just simply gaze into each others eyes. (Chrom then stops and turns his attention to outside the window. Trinako also watches as they see Vexus, looking worse for wear, and looking very saddened and morose. To make matters worse, her wrist-com is set to self destruct and her finger is near the button. Chrom and Trinako can only watch as Vexus states her last words to him.)

Vexus: (love-lorned) I love you... oh so much.

(without warning, she presses the button and explodes. We then jump into the master bedroom where Chrom sits up wide awake, shaking like a leaf. What he just had was a nightmare. He then looks over to Vexus, who is still in sleep-mode, to see if she's ok. Seeing that she's fine, he lays back down and tries to get back into sleep-mode.)

(we then cut to the next morning at the family dining room. As the servants create breakfast, Vexus walks in wearing an olive green robe and takes a cup of clear oil for tea. She then sits by her husband and she notices him struggling to remain awake.)

Vexus: (concerned) What's wroing, my love?

Chrom: (yawns) I had a troublesome dream last night.

Vexus: Really? About what?

Chrom: Well, it had you... and I'm unsure if it's ok to say what happened.

Vexus: (realization) Are you worried about me?

Chrom: Yes. I'm starting to realize that my convorting with Trinako has become far too much for me to handle if something happens to you.

Vexus: I understand. But she's also my friend. She's the one that saved me from those rogues on Earth. I'm only paying her back by making your childhood crush happen once more.

Chrom: And I appriciate that, don't get me wrong. But--

(he gets cut off as their children enter the room. Knowing that they must keep it a secret, they end their conversation.)

Vexus & Chrom: (in unison) Good morning, children!

Clarence/Vega/Viola/Volcanus/Vesuvius: (in unison) Morning!

(as they take their seats by the table, their breakfast is served. What the family is eating are basically metallic versions of such delicacies as scrambled eggs, bacon, ceral, etc. As they eat, the following gags are happening: Volcanus & Vesuvius, the aptly named "Fire Twins" are burning their eggs and bacon to make it more crispy; Viola is feeding her cereal to her doll; and the Kitti-tron is waiting between Vega and Clarence for any scraps.)

Vexus: (to Vega) So Vega, any plans for after school?

(Vega and Clarence turn to see their younger siblings are present. They then stop their argument for now. On cue, Trinako enters the dining quarters.)

(as they follow, Viola stays behind and takes out a piece of paper. She then walks over to her parents.)

Vexus: What have you got there, Viola?

Viola: Well, it's a picture I made in school yesterday.

Chrom: Can we see it?

(Viola then hands the picture over to her father and he and Vexus take a look. They are then immediately touched at what they see. We switch to their vision to reveal the picture as a childish colored drawing with Vexus and Chrom holding their daughter's hands inbetween them. They are also surrounded by a heart. There are also the words "King Daddy, Queen Mommy and Me" scribbled out in crayon. The royal parents are touched by their little girl's artwork.)

Vexus: (touched) Aww, Viola. That is so sweet of you!

Viola: (nods) Yep! Draw it all by myself!

Chrom: (pats her on the head) Very thoughtful, Viola. Very thoughtful.

Vexus: Indeed. Now run along now; mustn't be late.

(Viola then gives her mom a peck on the cheek and runs off to join her big brothers to school. This also gives Vega and Clarence a cue to go as well.)

Vega: Me and Clarence are going now!

Clarence: Will you two be all right while we're at school?

Vexus: (keeping her gaze to the picture) We'll be fine, dears. Now run along.

(Vega and Clarence then leave, leaving their parents along in the dining area.)

Vexus: You see, Chrom. From this picture, there's nothing to worry about. Even throughout this affair, we'll still be together.

Chrom: And all from a five-year-old's drawing!

(Vexus kisses her husband, reassuring him that everything will be ok. We then cut to later that night. Chrom is tucking Viola in her bed.)

Chrom: There you go, Viola. Snug as a bug.

Viola: Do you still like my picture, daddy?

Chrom: Of course. Your mother and I loved it so much, we placed it in our quarters so we can see it.

Viola: Is Lin's mommy gonna be ok?

Chrom: (taken aback at first, but then becomes reassuring) She will. The Madame Chancellor may be going through a hard time, but she'll process through.

Viola: (yawns) 'Night daddy!

Chrom: Sweet dreams, Viola. (kisses her on the cheek, then walks towards the door. He then closes the light and exits the room.)

(we then see him walking down the halls late at night. He then passes his and Vexus' bedroom and proceeds to enter Trinako's room. When the door opens, he's amazed to see Trinako spread out on her side on her bed wearing a see-through red nightie and an amorus smile on her face.)

Trinako: (seductive) Good evening, my king. Of whom do I owe the pleasure?

Chrom: (mixed feelings) Well, you of course.

Trinako: (notices his worriment) Is there something wrong? (sets herself in a sitting position)
