Ever After Fantasies

The following morning, Apple was on her way to Queen Snow White’s castle but she had a tag along with her.

“Hexactly why are you coming along again?” asked Apple as she sat next to Raven. They were so close that their knees kept hitting each other and the blonde was feeling a weird warmth coming from her stomach each time they did.

“Because in case things take a bad turn I can get you out of there,” said Raven.

“Thanks, Raven, I feel much better now,” said Apple with a sarcastic yet mad tone while glaring at the witch.

“Sorry, it’s just that I don’t want to leave anything to chance, you mean so much to me, Apple,” said Raven while grabbing hold of the princess’s hand.

“Thanks,” said Apple with a bright smile. The car then pulled up to the castle where Queen Snow White was waiting.

“Apple, it’s good to see you again, dear,” said Queen Snow White with a smile that quickly dropped once she noticed that her daughter was not alone.

“Oh, and I see that Miss. Queen has come with you,” said Queen Snow White.

“Good to see you too, ma’am,” said Raven.

“So, not that I’m not pleased to have the both of you here, but why the sudden visit?” asked Queen Snow White.

“I think this is something that we should talk about in private, just the three of us, mother,” said Apple.

“Then follow me,” said Queen Snow White. A couple of minutes later, the three were in a room sitting at a large table.

“Alright, now do you mind telling me what this visit is about?” asked Queen Snow White.

“I found out about our ancestor who was married to a woman,” said Apple.

“How did you find out about her?” asked a shocked Queen Snow White.

“That doesn’t matter, the question I came here to ask is if we are truly related to the White family,” said Apple.

“Why would you ask such a question?” asked Queen Snow White.

“Because I know that two women can’t have kids together and could find no mention of a birth certificate or adoption papers,” said Apple. After a few minutes of silence, Queen Snow White let out a sigh.

“Guess I should tell you the truth now,” said Queen Snow White.

“That Snow White had a sister who unfortunately died in childbirth so she and her wife took the child in,” she said.

“But there’s no record of them adopting a child,” said Raven. 

“That’s because back in those days the gay community still couldn’t adopt even though they were allowed to marry, the only reason the two of them were given her is because they were the closest family,” said Queen Snow White. 

“So we are still related to the Snow family,” said Apple. 

“Yes, and seeing how late it is getting it would be best if you two stay the night,” said Queen Snow White as she looked out the window at the sitting sun.
