(we cut towards later in the day, mostly around dusk. The captain of the guard, whom we saw earlier in the previous chapter, walks towards the throne room. When he arrives, he sees his majesty, Queen Vexus, on the throne. Vexus immediately notices the subordinate.)

Vexus: (stern) Something the matter, Snarus?

Snarus: My queen! While you were away, I've saw something that would shock you!

Vexus: (raises an eyebrow) Oh?

Snarus: Yes. I saw the king, your husband, convorting with the Madame Chancellor at the royal pool. They were--

Vexus: I gave them that order.

Vexus: Hard to understand, I know. But as the current captain of the guard, you should know the misery the previous captain gave to her.

Trinako: In case something happens to Vega?

Trinako: I suppose.

(we then cut to the exterior of the solar-house where Chrom and Trinako are leaving. What they don't know is Vexus is watching them. She has mixed feelings of envy and guilt over this affair.)

(we then cut to later in the throne room of the Cluster Royal Palace. Vexus is sitting there alone until Chrom takes a seat next besides her in his respective throne.)

Chrom: So my love, how did coaxing Miss Jennifer go?

Vexus: Not as I planned. Her mother figured out my nanobot's weakness. I was this close to bringing her to my cause!

Chrom: Well, I didn't expect it to make her into a monstrosity.

Vexus: That was to be expected. Thankfully things like that never happens to our planet's robots. I still remember when Clarence and Vega reached puberty.

(before Chrom responds, Trinako soon appears and sits besides Chrom... in a throne of her own as well.)

Trinako: Evening, your majesties.

Chrom: Evening, Trinako. (Vexus just waves at her)

Trinako: Anything happened?

Vexus: Well, I was telling him about how my plan got foiled by that meat puppet. I'm trying to figure out what to do about that girl.

Trinako: Well, I might have an idea or two.

Chrom: Really? (turns his head towards her) Please go on.

Trinako: Well, I do believe that there are these crystals that give any one great amounts of power.

Vexus: You mean--

Chrom: (cuts his wife off) The Pip Crystals?

Trinako: Yes.

Chrom: (interested) Do tell.

Trinako: Well, these crystals have the power to magnify the strengths of many and any power they desire.

Chrom: Yes, this is what our roach droids needed. Continue.

(as they talk, Vexus feels left out. She watches on as the two make a wonderful conversation, as if they are like a couple. Vexus watches on in worriment if her marriage is fading before her eyes. Fade out.)
