Disclaimer:
I do not own Gargoyles/Disney related but the original character, Eve Anderson, is from my own mind and is not a character of Disney. I get no pay and am only doing this for fun
chapter 31
David strolls down the hallway to the fitness rooms, enjoying the only quiet he gets in the day. He hums softly, letting the quiet fill him with peace. He opens the door to the weight room and immediately freezes when he sees a silhouette outlined by the windows. He steps inside, quickly closing and locking the door behind him.
The figure doesn’t move as he comes closer, leaving the lights dim near the windows. “What are you doing here, Puck?” Puck glances over his shoulder, lips twitching up. “Exercise is good for the mind?” “I know you better than that, Old Man.” David settles against the wall on the other end of the window, watching him closely. “What’s wrong?” “Crisis of conscience.” Puck sighs and leans his head against the window. “I think I made a very big mistake.” “Tell me.” David growls, wondering what mess the fay had made this time. He listens intently, horror building inside him as Puck tells him an over view of what he did to Eve. “You did what?” He nearly yells. Puck cringes away. “I know! It was wrong but the way she was talking earlier in the day I knew if she had seen me as Owen that it would have gone farther than it had.” David rubs his forehead like he has a headache coming on. “Well this puts a cramp in things.” “What do you mean?” Puck lifts his head, staring at him in fear. “Fox wanted you to drive them while they went shopping today.” He walks over to a weight bench and sits down. “From the look in her eyes, I’d say she’s taking Eve out shopping for things you don’t need to be even thinking about her in right now.” Puck slides down the wall, curling his legs under him as he hangs his head in dejection. “What if she sees me and remembers something?” “You’ll have to deal with that if it happens.” He lies down and starts to lift. “I can’t see getting you out of driving now. You’ll just have to get better control of yourself.” Puck stands, changing into Owen with a shrug. “You’re right. I’ll get a better hold of myself and stay with the car while they shop.” “Good idea.” He watches as Owen heads for the door. “And I’ll make sure Fox doesn’t get wind of this or she’ll have your balls for sure.” Owen stops just as the door opens, his body going ridged. “I would appreciate that. I would like to keep my bits a while longer.” David laughs softly. “Get out of here and make yourself scarce until they need you.” Owen nods and quickly leaves.
