Tail Spin
She couldn’t remember a time where she was this tired unless it was video game-related, but Gaz enjoyed her time with Zim and Gir. Zim hadn’t understood at first why she suddenly wanted to do so much with him that neither of them had ever done and it was sad that Zim’s people didn’t have anything akin to a Bucket List like Humans did.
But it was fun taking him all over the place and Gir’s new secondary costume came in handy when Dogs weren’t allowed in certain places. It was also kind of funny that her father was actually supporting her with this because her meager allowance wouldn’t have covered it all. But that was the only good thing to come out of him knowing. Because the moment he let it slip to Dib that Zim was dying...Well, she wasn’t sure how her brother would react.
The living room light suddenly flared to life and blinded her. She let out a hiss, whoever turned on that light was going to pay! She blinked the tears out of her eyes and spotted Dib-shit smirking at her. Great, just what she needed her mentally unstable brother to act like he knew everything. Wait until he learns the truth her mind whispered traitorously.
“Where have you been? You missed dinner.” Dib was getting beat up for two weeks for this.
“Why does it matter to you? It’s not like we’re buddies Dib.” Yes she was his sister and when it came down to it they were siblings, she would do anything for him except now she wouldn’t hurt Zim or Gir, they meant too much to her now for that. Dib might have been a touch older but he was not the boss of her, if anything it was the other way around.
“No, But I know Zim has to be messing around with your mind somehow! Why else would you two suddenly be friends! You know he’s trying to destroy Earth!” Dib shouted, he was practically foaming at the mouth. She knew why Zim was her friend now because he felt alone in a way he hadn’t before. He was adrift and someone should be there for Zim in his final days. Even if it was a human, at least he wouldn’t be alone when he died. At least he would have gotten to experience fun new things, even as his sorrow ate away at him.
Gaz had to tell him. Dib was clueless and would hurt Zim if he didn’t know, but she didn’t want to tell him. Because what if Dib took this as a chance to kill Zim? To dissect or vivisect Zim, and she couldn’t. She couldn’t be the reason that happened to Zim when he was already in so much pain.
“He’s dying Dib. His higher-ups hit a kill switch, apparently, all Irken’s have it and he was the reason the ‘tallest’ died and the armada mostly destroyed so the other bosses flipped his kill switch,” Gaz said. Her guts rolling, because of the look on Dib’s face right now? It looked murderous like he would just go marching to Zim’s, maybe tell him to stop lying to her or something. Like he was going to hurt Zim one way or another.
