Angel Shrine

She looked down at the twinkling lights excitement brimming in her heart, Chloé’s idea of a Prom like they had in America had started a lot of excitement from everyone, and the fact that the school had agreed? Amazing! She could already picture her dress, flowing and beautiful. 

Now if she only had time between being Ladybug, school, and god just about a million other things to make it! It really shouldn’t be too difficult considering, she’d never made anything quite so ornate before but she was sure she could do it and Tikki had looked amazed by the dress ideas already!

She glanced at her computer and frowned, a picture of Gabriel Agreste on the screen. Something about another success, he was always working and it saddened her how much Adrien wanted to be near his father and yet was unable to be. She was close with her parents, even if she didn’t tell them about Ladybug. She hoped that one day Adrien would be able to reconnect with his father, but she had doubts about that happening any time soon. 

Marinette sighed and went back to her sketches, she wanted a perfect dress and hopefully, she’d be able to ask Adrien if he wouldn’t mind going with her as friends of course! Not that she wouldn’t mind if it was actually a date, she knew she didn’t have a chance and maybe she should be okay about that but sometimes she really wasn’t. 

It didn’t help that she was starting to well notice how handsome others were. She bit her lower lip, she and Adrien had been studying in his room of all places, why she’d been allowed into the home even? Then Gabriel Agreste had come in to check on them and make sure they were just studying...He’d implied he thought they were up to no good and how long had he wore that cologne? Because with him standing so close his warmth and the scent of the cologne had given her tingles, to be honest.

He had to have noticed the way she’d turned bright red, but must have thought she was thinking well naughty things about his son and not him! But her treasonous mind had been supplying how nice it might be to be in his arms, he was so tall and handsome. But, thinking back on her thoughts at the time she realized they were well superficial thoughts because she knew how aloof he could be even with his own son!

Besides Adrien kind of suspected his father and Nathalie might have a thing. Which good for him Marinette guessed because they still had no idea where his wife had even gone and dear god she needed to get over this silly crush on the man because A) he was married and B) was the father of her friend that she’d had a giant crush on! Not to mention the C) Nathalie was a beautiful woman and more age-appropriate for the freaking father of her friend!

It still didn’t stop the butterflies that appeared in her stomach anytime he was near, or the way her heart would pick up when those pale blue eyes would pierce her. Tikki floated past her face and Marinette squeaked in shock.

“Tikki!” The Kwami laughed and flew off, tangling with a few of her friends as they floated, chatting about this or that. Marinette sighed, she couldn’t wait. She needed to finish this dress yesterday!
