One of the entrances

Chapter 3: One of the entrances

It wasn’t one of the entrances she remembered, but she was sure it led to the same places. They eventually found a huge open place, deep under the house, part natural cavern, part unfinished construction site. There were various doors, some ancient, some just old, leading… where?

Goo began to play a game. She was Princess Pirate Captain Fettucine Blackbeard O’Malley O’Bryan the 27th, Scourge of the 12 Seas (because 7 seas weren’t going to be enough!)

Her loyal crew, Scurvy Mac, One Eyed Mac, Howler Monkey Mac (Frankie wasn’t too sure about that one). Princess Pirate Captain Fettucine picked up a cutlass to go with her tri-cornered hat and head scarf and charged her dreaded enemy.

Lord Admiral Queen’s Captain Frank E Foster, aided by her loyal crew, First Mate Lieutenant Sir Mac-Mac, Mac-son of a sea dog, Bosun Mate Mackey Mac Masters, and the rest. Her loyal lookout, young Mac O’Mac kept calling “Sail-ho, ye landlubber” from rigging, one eye glued to the 10ft spyglass, as the loyal crew picked up their muskets and began firing at the pirate scoundrels who had plagued the peaceful seas for so long.

Battles raged. First one side was winning, then the other.

Mac was kept busy as both pirate crew and royal shipmates and was having the time of his life!

They were all 10 years old. It didn’t occur to them to wonder where the guns and knives and canon came from. Didn’t matter.

At some point the Lord Admiral became Red Beard, Pirate Queen of Kansas and Princess Pirate Captain Fettucine became The Grand Duke Duchess Of The Royal Navy. Mac, the Pirate Crew were executed by Mac the Navy mates who were then eaten by sharks. Fortunately, there were a lot of other Pirate Macs and loyal Mac crews willing to fight for one side then the other.

A lot of blood was spilled that day, mostly by the Macs. Fortunately, the mayhem wasn’t permanent. Even Mac’s eaten by sharks seemed to turn back up from time to time.

At some point it seemed that Machine-gun Goo, gunrunner, smuggler, racketeer and mobster was on the prowl for her hated enemy, Lawman Bulldog McMac the Captain/Sergeant Of The Chicago Law Patrol. Criminals such as Red Frankie, Two Gun Foster and Frankie The Kid had escaped from Officer Frances O’Foster and Patrolman Frank O’Foster (twins from a fine old police family, the O’Fosters). They had been shot 127 times each by the rampaging criminals.

They were 12 years old. The games continued.
