City Brawl
Chapter 2
City Brawl

Sentinal and Shadow came to the outskirts of Robotropolis. They were greeted by a robot.
"Halt," the robot said and began scanning.
"Halt this!" Shadow barked and, but the energy blasts bounced off the robot. The bot turned and fired back at Shadow who swiftly moved.
"Ok, let's see how you like a little taste of adamantium!" Sentinal shouted and charged, his claws fully extended. The bot had no chance as the claws severed its head from its body. Shadow came over and tapped on the headless body.
"This metal is tougher," Shadow noted and ripped the rifle out of the hand and looked for the power pack. Finding it, he replaced the pack in his own gun with the pack of the bot's weapon. He turned to see that Sentinal had ripped a chip out of the severed head of the bot and now was...pulling his flesh from the left side of his face! Once the flesh was pulled back, Shadow could see metal along with strange glowing lights and ports. He plugged the chip into a port.
"They are called SWAT-bots. They are Robotnik's main line of defense for he city beside Stealth-bots and hover units." Sentinal reported.
"What do we do?"
"We head for higher ground and explore from the roof tops."

Hopping again onto another roof, the two took another look down around the city. Shadow then spotted a blue blur being chased by several dozen SWAT-bots.
"Sonic?"
"You know him?"
"I knew a version of him, yes, but he looks slightly different, but that speed is still the same."
"Ah, I think I've spotted a rat," Sentinal growled looking with his telephoto eye. "You go shoot up those robots. I've got a date with Naugus," Sentinal finished and silently leapt off the roof.

Naugus waited in the shadows for that blue hedgehog to come speeding by.
'Those tin cans of Robotnik's can't catch a cold,' Naugus thought. He then heard a growl and the wizard turn to see a figure that appeared ready to attack him.
"Ok, you egg sucking piece of gutter trash! I've been waiting five hundred years to kick your tail in! I'm glad you were still around for me to do it!" Sentinal growled.
"Charlie?" Naugus asked slightly afraid. He hadn't expected him to come back from the dead
"That's right, you bucket of slime. I've got five centuries of pent up rage and I need to let it out on someone and you are the perfect one for me to do that to.."
"You were executed!" Naugus rasped out.
"I got a reprieve so to speak," Sentinal replied, "and the name's Sentinal, Charlie is dead." he finishes letting his claws out.
"I don't know how you survived,..." Naugus began to say but the city goes dark from a power plant being shut down. "Curse you freedom fighters! You'll pay for this!" Naugus yelled. Sentinal smirked and attacked the sorcerer.

"Hey Sal did you..." sonic began and the lights shut off.
"You were fixing to say?" Sally asked with a grin on her face.
"Cool, better motor back to Rot and the others. They should have the supplies loaded by now," Sonic said and taking a firm hold of the princess of Mobius, Sonic took off.

"What's the matter, old man, can't take me out?" Sentinal taunted.
"Damn you echidna!"
"You're just mad because your magic doesn't work on echidnas."
"Ah!" the old sorcerer shouted and a force spell knocked Sentinal back several feet. The echidna charged through each one of Naugus's spells until he finally knocked the wizard on his back.
"Ok," he said and lifted his claws, "let's see how you like the taste of adamantium," he growled.
"Not...today," he gasped out and teleported, making Sentinal fall to the concrete ground.
"Naugus!" Sentinal shouted. He calmed down and took to the skies. He scanned for his black hedgehog allies. He didn't find the black hedgehog, but he did see several SWAT-bots dragging a rabbit who's limbs were robotic. Powering diving downwards from his gliding position, he came down and sliced the bots in half vertical.
"You ok?" he asked before helping the female rabbit to her feet.
"Sugah, you cut them clean in half."
"Yeah, well, it helps to have claws," he said and retracted his adamantium claws. "I'm guessing you aren't just taking a stroll?"
"Oh goodness no, I've got to get back to Rotor and Antoine. I got separated from them when them ol' metal heads got me."
"Well, grab on and tell me which way to go."
"Nah," she said and jumped into his arms, "I'd rather ride up in front, suga."

"We are doom'ed!" Antoine shouted, his bad French accent getting on the walrus's;'s nerves.
"Oh, where are they?" Rotor asked. Then, the SWAT-bots started falling as someone was shooting them from above.
"Awe, no more?" a voice asked after coming out of the shadows. Rotor and Antoine saw a black hedgehog holding a gun, smirking at his handy work. Then another Sonic boom announced the arrival of Sonic and Sally, but they had SWAT-bots on their tails.
"Good, I was hoping there would be more," shadow said and started blasting. From behind their ranks though, Bunnie and Sentinal took out the rest of the bots.
"I've got questions, but I suggest we get out of here before Robotnik sends more SWAT-bots after us." Sally said and the princess, along with Sonic, Bunnie, Rotor, Antoine, and the two newcommers, loaded up in the hover unit and it quickly left.

"General Charlie Echidna?" Robotnik asked.
"Yes, he was responsible for the deaths of most of my kind. He lead the Acorn armies against the magical forces lead by another who will be coming to help now that the echidna is back." Naugus hissed.
"Who?"
"Mammoth Mogul," he answered and Robotnik's eyes widened in horror. If he was coming to help Naugus...
"He'll be hear tomorrow. Have everything ready!" Naugus continued and left Robotnik's command center. The large overlander side and instructed the worker-bots to start repairs on the power plant that had been shut down.
