Friendly Advice?
Double D politely knocked on the door, feeling disoriented from his recent experience.
A second later, Eddy's voice yelled from the kitchen,
"'Bout time! Get in here!"
Edd entered his friend's house and followed the noise coming from the kitchen.
"Eddy?" Double D asked, setting his messenger bag down on the messy table.
"Yeah?" the shorter boy responded from behind the refigerator door.
"What are you doing?" Edd wondered, walking over to the open fridge.
"I'm looking for something," Eddy explained vaguely.
"Ummmm....Eddy? Can I tell you something?"
Without glancing up at his friend, Eddy replied,
"Yeah. Go ahead."
"Are you aware of our new neighbour?"
"That walking freakshow?"
For some reason, Double D felt a twinge of anger at Eddy comment, but continued,
"He kissed me today."
"Hmm."
Double D stared at his friend, deciding if he should repeat himself or not.
"Wait! What?!" Eddy shouted, hitting his head on the roof of the fridge. He turned around, facing his long-time friend, mouth hanging open.
"He did WHAT?!"
"He k-kissed m-m-me," Edd mumbled, looking away, wishing he was out of Eddy's incriminating gaze.
"Why?" the shorter boy asked foolishly, slamming the refrigerator door closed.
"How should I know?" Double D demanded angrily.
"Well, what did you do?" Eddy wondered, still shocked from the initial impact of the news.
"Nothing," Double D responded, "He kind of surprised me."
"You didn't push him away?!" the shorter boy asked, disgusted at the thought of his friend in a lip-lock with a guy.
Sensing that things were about to take a turn for the worse, Edd decided that it was time fo his departure.
"I've got to go back to my house," Double D lied, "I just remembered that I still have chores to do."
Too angry to pay attention to Edd's words, Eddy sat down at the tble, grumbling to himself.
Quietly, Double D let himself out, shutting the front door behind him.
With his afternoon plans ruined, Double D noticed a small piece of paper taped to the door.
He unfolded the note as he made his way up to his room.
Mindlessly, he sat down at his desk as he read, paying little attention to the phone ringing downstairs.
