Voyeurism
PART 2
Haunt Quarters
“Your wickedness! Your wickedness! Something’s going on with the Ghostbusters!”
Instinctually, Prime Evil bellowed, “I thought I told you never to utter that word in my presence!” and he shot Scared Stiff with an energy bolt. The robot ghost fell into several smoking pieces again. Apparitia walked into the throne room, smirked and used a spell to put him back together, intentionally putting his hands and feet on backwards. Mysteria floated in after her and chuckled at the cowardly ghost’s predicament. She engulfed him in a veil of mist that blurred his vision, and the two female specters laughed heartily when he tripped and fell against a wall, falling apart yet again. “Oh. Looks like someone needs some super glue,” Apparitia observed in her sultry “Mae West-ern” tones.
“Hmm. And a pair of glasses wouldn’t hurt either,” the smoky voiced Mysteria added.
“Enough of this foolishness!” Prime Evil’s voice boomed out across the vast throne room. “What were you saying about the Ghost . . . bastards, you dilapidated dolt?”
Scared Stiff reassembled himself and walked on shaky feet to his boss’s side. “Oh great master of the macabre! The Ghost . . . uh, the ones you wanted me to watch, sir. They seem to be having some problems.”
“Oh? Like what?”
“It’s Jake Kong, mighty er. er. He’s keeping something from Eddie Spenser and that ape Tracey. I saw them as they were heading home from a bust. He’s hiding something, I’m sure!”
“Hiding what, you boob?” Prime Evil was hardly known for his patience.
Scared Stiff began shaking more violently; the clattering reached an almost deafening magnitude. “Uh hm,” he cleared his metal throat anxiously. “I d-don’t know, oh merciful one.”
Prime Evil’s eyes narrowed. “Now when have you known me to be merciful?” And before he could even turn to run, Scared Stiff watched his feet and torso fly past his face before his head hit the far wall. “Find out, you useless contraption, or I’ll have you made into a pressure cooker!”
Apparitia and Mysteria were amused, but they were quiet as they departed, not wishing to draw their master’s attention when his ire was so raised. They decided to follow Scared Stiff and join him in spying on the Ghostbusters.
It might prove to be fun.
