A Lonely Heart's Wish

She fumed all day over the way he had texted her. She couldn’t believe he would think she should just sit back and ignore the situation in DeSoto while all hell breaks loose! She looks at the clock again, knowing he should’ve been done hours ago and she won’t be able to sleep now until he shows. Although she’s been sleeping off and on all day, her headache has disappeared but still left the moments of dizziness behind. She paces beside the bed, closing her eyes as she turns to keep the sight of the room sliding sideways from making her stumble, when she hears the door open.

“I don’t care what you’re bringing this time, I don’t want it.” She growls, thinking it’s Miss Nolan again.

“Should I take that as an order, Oh Mistress of mine?” He slams the door closed and leans against it.

Her back straightens and she turns. “About damned time!” She stumbles and nearly falls from turning too fast.

He rushes forward, grabbing her just as she catches herself. He holds her close, looking deep into her eyes. Being this close to her is his undoing and he leans down, capturing her lips. Before he can end it and pull away, she locks her arms around him and deepens the kiss. When he finally pulls away from her, they are both breathless.

“I’m sorry.” He leans his forehead against hers, loathe to let her go. “I shouldn’t have done that.”

“Don’t.” She growls, cupping his face in her hand and keeping him from looking away. “Don’t you dare apologize to me. I don’t know what’s happening between us but I’m not stepping away from it.”

“You have no idea what you are asking.” He turns his head in her hand and kisses her palm.

“Maybe I don’t but I’m willing to try.” She pulls him to the bed, settling down beside him.

He gently strokes her face, watching her for any hesitation. “Then I will as well but I will not allow us to rush this.”

She chuckles. “Well don’t be too slow. I don’t have as long as you do to mosey through life.”

“As you wish, Mistress.” He grins at her.

She laughs, pushing him down til he’s lying on the bed beneath her.  “Mistress! I’ll show you Mistress!”

She straddles him, lying across his chest as she kisses him passionately. He growls softly, pulling her hips tighter against him and letting her feel how much he wants her. She grinds against him, holding him down with a wicked grin on her face.

“You are playing with fire, Eve.” He groans, hips arching towards her.

She wavers for a moment, dizziness making her sight foggy. He sees it and pulls her down to the bed, folding her into his arms. “I like fire.” She whispers. “I just wish I was well enough to handle it.”

“Rest and I will tell you what has happened while you were asleep.” He kisses her softly. “When you are strong again, we will pick up where we left off.”

“Ok.” She snuggles closer and listens as he tells her everything about what he found off the SD card.
