In the days that followed, the guys had Ecto-1 repaired. Since Egon said the throwers would be ineffectual against the spawn of Cthulhu, Jake and Eddie called their fathers to have them ship their two spare derialrializers by overnight mail. Perhaps in combination the two weapons would be used successfully. Egon modified the large proton cannon mounted on Ecto-1 to shoot electricity instead of proton energy to dispense with Cthulhu himself. Electricity had defeated the Old One three years before. It was their best weapon.

While Egon, Peter and Winston tested the modifications, Futura teleported into the firehouse. “I sensed that Jessica was in danger. I thought you could use my help.”

Peter glanced up from his work and stared at her mildly, then nudged Winston. “You know, there was a time when a purple-skinned woman in a tight fitting unitard materializing in front of me would have been somewhat surprising.”

Winston chuckled. “Yeah, to me too Pete.”
