Tale of the demon twat

All along the end of the school week, Steven didn’t dare to formulate his proposition to invite the cute girl to the dance. Alas, the end of Friday was already ringing and he feared to miss his chance if he waited after the weekend.

He needed to show himself now.

- Well, it was a fun week, dude. See you Monday” Jade took her leave, smiling widely.

- Wait, there’s something I need to ask you” Steven called her at the very last moment, finally gathering up his courage.

- Yeeeees ?” Jade swiftly turned back, apparently expecting something important as well.

- I wonder, would you…” Steven hesitated for a few seconds before eventually forcing himself to spit it out, talking rapidly “go to the spring dance with me ?”

They both remained speechless; Steven waiting anxiously for an answer while Jade was still facing the shock of such an unexpected demand.

- Oh, Steven, of course, man” she took him in her arms, so delighted to see he reciprocated her feelings “Hem, I need to prepare myself, then. See ya!” she gave him goodbye, while running away, needing some space to face the sudden emotional overflow.

Steven, still heavily blushing, waved his arms back in return, finally relieved of letting out his feelings and happy to receive the acceptance of his crush. Though he wondered what trick she was going to pull this time, as he turned back to go home.

Later that day, Jade went to visit Viper, the ex-super thief of the J-club, who was living in Russian Hill since she reformed from her previous burglar career, while keeping a big chunk of her previous loot nonetheless. Jade expected her to help in finding the best outfit for her date, next week, trusting in the good taste of this femme fatale.

- Hello Miss Viper” Jade saluted her old friend as she opened the door of her chic house

- Hey, Jade, long time no see” Viper returned the greetings “what brings my little ninja here” she affectionately shuffled the little girl’s hair.

- Yeah, me too” Jade chuckled while redoing her hair. “So, I was hanging around, and I wondered if ya could help me with picking fashion clothes” Jade half explained the reason for her visit.

- Really, just all of a sudden ?” Viper frowned, a bit skeptical about the sudden interest of such a young girl in clothing, especially one who never cared about her appearance until now “Isn’t there a boy behind this ?” the perceptive lady dared to suppute with a lopsided grin.

Jade didn’t answer directly, but her deep red blush was telling it all as she looked away, too embarrassed to admit frontally her feelings.

- Right, right, don’t worry. I have quite a bunch of spare money for buying you fancy clothes since that’s soooo important for no reason. Let’s go shopping” she took her classy handbag and coat on a rack next to the door.

- Ow, thank you so much Viper. I’ll pay you back, I swear” the little girl danced with joy, so happy to have such a supportive friend as she followed her to the garage.

- We’ll see that in a couple of years” the ex-theft winked before they hit the road at full pelt together on her luxurious Ducati motorbike.

It wasn’t long before they cleaned out all the stylish shops around the French Quarter and across all North-East of San Francisco, madly giggling and enjoying their ladies night. Jade tried out many outfits, carefully comparing her different appearance from one another while listening to Viper's advice, until she finally settled on a splendid green one-piece evening gown.

- My, my, you look gorgeous in that one” the experienced lady commented, praising Jade for her magnificence in the ensemble “I’m sure your pretender will totally fall for you in that one”

- Thanks, Vip’”, Jade blushed from her compliment then checking the price tag, she almost unhinged her jaw in reaction “But did you see the price ? That’s crazy! We can’t afford it” the younger girl exclaimed in front of the number with several zero digits she was not used to seeing in her childish routine.

- Don’t worry about that. Consider it as my participation to the J-Team” Viper smiled while drawing her black card.

The asian girl remained speechless for a moment as she saw the elated clerks putting the super expensive cloth for real in a richly decorated bag and giving it to her friend.

- Here, this is yours” the thief handed it to Jade.

- Thank you so much” the little girl took it cautiously in her arms like a fragile baby, still not believing her luck “I hope I can make it up to you one of these days” she deeply thanked her friend while doing the chinese bow, her teary eyes full of gratefulness.

- That’s sincerely nothing, I insist” the lady welcomed her “hopefully this boy will appreciate it” she wished her good luck.

With that, they got back on the bike to go home, Viper making a detour through Chinatown to drop Jade by the Antiques shop.

As they were on the point to split, Viper gave her friend one last piece of advice.

- Just one thing, Jade. Don’t do it the first night” Viper recommended heavily

- Do what ?” Jade questioned in return with a puzzle face, clearly not catching the hidden adult meaning.

Damn, Viper bit her lips, maybe the young girl didn’t know yet about the birds and the bees. Should she explain it to her now? After all, she was not her parent and the talk was too private for a stranger to interfere in.

She shook her head, refusing to tell more. After all, it was just an innocent dance organized by a middle school. Nothing bad should happen.

- I mean… just don’t go to one’s home together after the dance. Boys can be… unpredictable sometimes” Viper looked away, obviously reminiscing some bad memory.

- Don’t worry, Vip’. I can defend myself” Jade smiled smugly with eyes closed while taking the combat pose, very confident in her fighting abilities after all the adventures she went through.

And moreover, after all, it’s not like she feared something wrong in Steven.

- Okay, take care and have a good night, gal” Viper took leave as she put her helmet on and made her bike noisily thrum before vanishing into the shadowy streets.

Jade pondered her words for a moment, wondering whether they had a hidden meaning. Then, shrugging, she went inside to prepare her stuff for the coming week.

She could not wait for next Friday.

After a studious school week, during which the two lovebirds saved their feelings for now, the big day finally arrived. 

Steven, wearing his best costume, was waiting in front of the gymnasium where the event was set, growing a bit impatient. Obviously, he expected his date to drag on, but not for so long. What the hell could she be doing ?

That’s when he saw her, as if she was emerging from a dream.

Jade was wearing the most sublime outfit he ever had the pleasure to gaze upon before. She was herself wearing a bit of makeup on her face, as well as a very sophisticated chinese bun. Hence her lateness.

But it was worth it. She looked radiant, resplendent, glorious...

- So, how do you find me” Jade asked for his opinion, turning on herself to let her partner check her whole body out.

- Holy shit, Jade. I… I lack words…” Steven remained stupefied in front of so much brilliance.

- hee hee, guess that’s the best possible compliment then” she joked about his stupor, blushing “let’s go inside, dude. The party is waiting for us” she grabbed his arms to take him into the building.

Obviously, Jade didn’t let the rest of the assembly indifferent. Many people commented on how great the tomboy student looked for once, some barely recognising their familiar classmates through such a radical dressing transformation.

Jade felt both flattered yet uncomfortable to attract so much attention, looking away to avoid the countless curious gazes. Fortunately, Steven was here to reassure her.

Walking in front of her, Steven exaggeratedly bowed in front of his partner, offering his hand.

- So, milady, would you do the honor of dancing with me” he clumsily acted as a victorian character, a bit overplaying.

- Oh, of course, my dear” Jade played along, giggling.

Soon, they were together on the dance floor, following the various music styles: rock, twist, k-pop, jazz, tectonic… Steven had more skills but he had to admit that Jade was more agile and gracious, certainly thanks to her martial art training, which allowed her to compensate for her lack of experience.

They were enjoying their fun evening, until the DJ launched a slow. Steven hesitated for a moment, but in front of Jade’s enthusiasm, giving him long languorous looks, he decided it was worth trying his luck.

Thus, taking her in his arms, he started to dance with her slowly, on the soft words of the song I wanna know by Joe Lewis Thomas.

The two partners obviously blushed together while hearing the evocative lyrics, taking them a bit too personally in this context.

On Steven’s part, it was especially the double meaning of “turning on” that was starting to have a physical effect on him. Soon, he could not stop himself from growing a boner right against the legs of his date, much to his deep embarrassment.

Jade’s heart skipped a beat at this proposal, almost comparable to a marriage one for her age range.

- Oh, yes, thrice yes, dude ” Jade ecstatically accepted, hugging her new boyfriend tight around his neck with her arms.

- Argh, Jade, you’re choking me” Steven had quite some difficulty breathing suddenly, not helped by the hyperventilation caused by his apprehension previously.

- Hmmm, hmm” Jade kept rubbing her face in his chest while loosening her grip a bit. She was so happy right at this moment, as they finished dancing. The light, the music, the smooth atmosphere. She wished it would never end, dancing until the end of the night.

Eventually, though, the middle school event reached its end around 11 pm, obviously not allowed to last too late for such a young public. Though, contrary to the rest of the attendance, Steven and Jade didn’t let it break their romantic mood the slightest, remaining embraced by each other as they walked outside while maintaining their loving gaze as well.

They wandered around the streets of North Beach, not saying a word, simply holding hands and looking at each other blushingly from time. Now they have fused their respective souls into one after their proclamation of love, talking seemed just superfluous. 

They only needed to welcome the glorious moment.

Alas, they were already reaching the border of Chinatown, almost too soon for their taste. Soon reaching the vicinity of Uncle’s Rare Finds, they prepared to split with great regret.

 - So, I guess it’s time to say good night”

- Sigh, yes. I’ll miss you this weekend” Jade talked with a shaky voice, now quite emotionally attached to her lover.

- Don’t worry, gal. Monday is never far. For better and for worse” Steven comforted her, tenderly rubbing her cheek.

Jade silently nodded, rubbing affectionately against his hand, then as she turned back to the shop, she suddenly exclaimed.

- Wait a minute, something is not right.

Jade made a sign at Steven to remain silent, as they both hid behind the corner of the intersection.

Indeed, there were a lot of strange bizarre noises coming from inside Uncle's shops, until suddenly, much to their unexpected surprise, Jackie Chan bursted out through the window, clearly a bit groggy. He took a flute out of his pocket and was on the point of playing it, when he was interrupted by Uncle, coming out of the building as well.

- No, after the tail attaches” the old man urged him to stop.

Right at this instant, under the terrified gaze of the two children, a big dark skinned winged humanoid critter emerged out of the door behind Uncle and grabbed him by his shoulder, flying away while carrying the poor elderly with him

- You’ll remove the spell from my tail, dear Uncle, or perish” the kids could hear him expose his threat as he was passing right above their position.

- Uuuuuuuuuncle !!!” Jackie could only shout from the ground, powerless. “Dammit, Tohru, there’s not a minute to lose, let’s go” they both started running in their pursuit, not noticing the children as they passed right next to them.

- Holy shit, did you see what I just saw” Steven stammered with saucer eyes, still hardly believing the crazy shit he just witnessed.

- Yeah, that’s exactly the kind of thing I told you we were dealing with, dude” Jade simply recalled, manifestly not as shocked as he was, proving that it was absolutely not the first time she was confronted with this kind of supernatural stuff.

Then, turning back to the direction where Jackie and Tohru ran away, she noticed how they were almost getting out of sight, pressing to take a decision about their next action.

- Damn, we can’t let Jackie and Tohru all alone with this monster” she clenched her fist, ready to participate to the fight “we have to help them”

- But, Jade…” Steven vainly started trying to put some sense back in his girlfriend’s mind about their limited capacity as young preteens.

- No time to talk, let’s go, man” Jade didn’t listen, already starting to run behind her uncles as she got rid of her troublesome outfit.

Dammit, Steven hesitated to get involved in this kind of potentially mortal adventure. Though, now that Jade had accepted to become his girlfriend, he felt like he was morally compelled to take care of her, whatever happens.

With that, he quickly made up his decision, and ran behind her.

Ahead in the pursuit, Jackie and Tohru were discussing the direction to follow, now that the Sky Demon was out of sight, lost in the middle of the night.

- Hsi Wu went this way, I think” Jackie supposed under the hypothesis the Demon kept flying in the same direction.

- We’d need wings to find Uncle” Tohru appropriately notified about the limits of their search range on foot in such a dense town, then cried while covering his face out of fear in front of a shadow looming above “the Sky Demon !”

The two skilled fighters immediately got into combat position.

Fortunately, much to their relief, it was just a big crow.

- My mistake” Tohru apologized under the critical look of Jackie. Though, getting closer to the bird, he noticed it was eating some piece of bread.

Shooing the crow, Jackie picked up the crumb and handed it to Tohru

- Mung bean” the sumo said in reaction to the smell, confirming Jackie’s intuition.

- Uncle’s sandwich” the athletic man thought aloud “a trail of mung beans” he looked at the many other breadcrumbs spangling the sidewalk in front of them.

- This way” he gestured at Tohru while resuming their running, unknowingly followed by two nosy lads.

Soon, the trail led the adventurers to the bottom of a very tall water tower. Squinting his eyes, Jackie could catch a glimpse of people sitting at the very top.

- Hold on, Uncle, I’m coming” Jackie talked to himself as he climbed the long ladder.

On their side at the top, Hsi Wu, now in company of Shendu, Ratso and Chow, were still trying to force Uncle to break his charm on the Demon’s tail, having brought a grimoire especially for that.

- Well, you have your text. Seek the spell” the Sky Demon ordered to Uncle, pointing a menacing finger at him

- Huuuhh” Uncle pondered what to do next for a moment.

Then as he noticed Jackie’s shadow appearing behind the bad guys to the rescue, he tried to buy a bit more time while maintaining diversion

- I don’t have my reading glasses” he pretended as a ridiculous excuse for not complying.

Of course, the exasperated Demon was far from buying it. His eyes turning red in anger, he reached out to the old man with his clawed hand, clearly intending to follow through with threats as he was raising his arm to strike.

Fortunately, right at this instant, Jackie Chan grabbed the creature with his powerful legs and threw it off the tower.

- Uncle, run!” Jackie urged his Uncle to escape.

Looking around the void surrounding the small roof where he was sitting, Uncle simply shrugged while saying “where to ?”

- Get him” Shendu commanded his two goonies as they hurled themselves at the martial fighter. Though, thanks to his incredible agility, Jackie managed to slide out of his clothes in the middle of the melee, as elusive as an eel.

The confrontation was only starting.

Meanwhile, Tohru, Jade and Steven were catching up the fight, though they were climbing a bit slowlier than Jackie did. Especially the sumo who suffered from vertigo, not very used to fighting at such heights.

Yet, it’s not like Steven was overconfident at the moment either, gulping anxiously as he looked down, measuring the big height they were above the ground. Though, he was pushing his limits for the sake of his love for Jade, obediently following her since the beginning to this precarious situation up on that super tall ladder. 

Though it’s worth mentioning that he had a nice view on her cute butt from below right now.

Alas, the tower had obviously an end. Once they reached the roof, the two were confronted to the very unfair fight of Shendu, Ratso and Chow against Jackie; while skinny Uncle could merely watch as a spectator.

Then, while they were not paying attention, subjugated by the impressive skills of the Kung Fu fighter, the Demon Sky showed up from behind the children and grabbed Jade.

- She is family, am I right ? If you don’t value your own life, maybe you’ll be more sensitive to the fate of your offspring” he held Jade single-handedly, like a rag doll.

- Jade!!” Steven rushed to her rescue, jumping on the back of the Demon, and starting to frantically punch his back with all the strength he could summon at his young age.

- Let her go, you creep” he yelled hard, doing his best to force the Demon to release his prisoner.

- My, My. Look at this little white knight coming to his damsel in distress” Hsi Wu mocked the futile attempt of the preteen, pushing him back. “Are you two dating ?” he smirked.

- She… she is my girlfriend indeed” Steven blushed at these words, while giving a very caring look at the panicking young girl who was now showing her embarrassment as well in reaction  “And I’ll do whatever it takes to protect her” the inexperienced boy tried to assume the closest position he imagined to be correct in martial art.

- Fine, then I’ll offer you a knight worthy death” the evil critter tossed Jade aside, while throwing himself on the small human in a very unequal combat.

Of course, Steven tried to defend himself, fighting back with all his muscles, but the balance of power was totally against him. The poor boy was getting smashed!

Alas, Jackie had a lot to do with the three henchmen on his own side. Nobody could come to the rescue of the rescuer at this terrible instant.

- Uncle, we have to do something!” Jade begged the old sorcerer to intervene.

- Quick, the backpack, grab it” Uncle pointed at the bag lying next to the two ongoing fights. 

Taking advantage that nobody was paying attention to them, the sneaky girl managed to pick it unnoticed, then handed it to her uncle.

Opening it immediately, the old man released the tentacle inside, in fact a somewhat sentient tail, which dashed to reattach at the butt of its owner, the Sky Demon.

- What the hell ?” the critter turned his head back in surprise, as he was on the point to finish the helpless boy under him “Noooooooo!” realizing his fate was sealed at this second.

- Yu Mo Gui Gwai Fai Di Zao, Yu Mo Gui Gwai Fai Di Zao, Yu Mo Gui Gwai Fai Di Zao…” Uncle immediately started chanting his usual incantation, paralyzing the Demon.

- Jackie, now !” he shouted at his nephew.

Having finally cleared out his part of the roof from all the baddies, who went to plummet more or less softly at the bottom of the tower, Jackie Chan took out the magical flute and started playing it to ward off the evil creature back to his dimension.

Alas, Hsi Wu resisted vainly for a few seconds, stepping back a little. While doing this, he jostled Steven who was still getting up, barely recovering at the moment, and pushed him over the edge of the tower to a possibly fatal fall.

- STEEEEEEEEEEEVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNN”
