Nocturnal confessions

Liono quietly left and softly walked to the corridor, feeling upset.
Somehow, he felt somewhat disgusted from what he saw- he couldn't stand seeing his beloved Cheetera fucking like a bitch. Since his own mother had died at his birth, she was the closest thing he had to a mother. He had known her since he could remember himself- back then, she was the young daughter of one of the nobles, one of the best warriors in Thundera, and very often visited the palace. Everytime she showed him the affection he needed and eventually moved to the palace just to be with him. There was a connection between them that nobody could understand. Since they arrived in Third Earth, everything had changed. Even though he was still a child, he had a grown man's body. Cheetara spent most of her time with Tygra, Snarf kept treating him like a baby and everyone else expected him to be the leader. He felt lonely.
He had nothing against Tygra, he was his friend. But seeing him fucking Cheetara this way caused him strange feelings.
He was not jealous. He was not in love with Cheetara. It was just that both his body and his heart needed some love and he couldn't find it.
Sounds from the basement made him realise that another loner was still awake too. He went down the stairs to see Panthro, once again, making changes and additions to the Thundertank.
Panthro smiled.
"What brings you here, Liono?"
"Insomnia."
"I suppose your new role came out to be a little bit heavy for your shoulders, am I right?"
Liono sighed.
"It's just the beginning, my friend. You'll get used to it..."
Panthro turned to the Thundertank again. Always like this. Brave, kind, strong but a loner . He never spoke much, he never showed his feelings.
“Do you miss Panthana, Panthro?” the lion asked.
“ I asked our gods to blind me if I ever forget her…” the panther replied with a slight trembling in his voice. Liono saw his eyes filling with tears.
“She loved you very much, Liono. You were very young when she died. Damn that plague that killed half Thundera… I bet you barely remember her…”
“I do, Panthro. I do.”
“I have one wish for you, kid. Find a woman like her. Anyway, time is running short… At your age, I was already married.” he smiled.
Liono didn’t answer. He was just looking out of the small window, staring at the new moon.
“You seem kinda troubled, lad. Come on. What’s the matter?”
“I just feel lonely, that’s all…” the young lion whispered.
Panthro grinned. He knew full well what was going on.
“No need to worry my friend. You’ll soon visit the temple…”
Liono boggled at Panthro’s words. The panther couldn’t help but laugh.
“We’ll explain to you when the time comes… Go to bed now. It’s late.”
“Goodnight, Panthro.”
Liono left the room. Panthro could hear his footsteps fading away.
“Some kids grow up too fast.” He mumbled and turned to the Thundertank again.
