Legalities & Warnings

Most characters belong to MTV and Viacom. This is the sequel to "To be Spiraled". I don't know if this will end it or not. The plot and any original characters are mine. Don't read this fic unless you are of age or you aren't easily offended. Since To Be Spiraled ignores the second movie, this next part continues to ignore that movie.

"None of this is our fault, Ms. Li." Mr. Anthony Di Martino says putting too much emphases on every other word. "You should have graduated her last semester. That way we wouldn't be in this situation."
"I hate to agree with a man like Di Martino, but he's right. You created a monster that has gotten out of control." Ms. Bartch adds glaring hatefully at Anthony.
"She's got all of the freshman brainwashed." Ms. Morris adds.
"Now, I wouldn't say 'brainwashed' Ms. Morris. Influencing impressionable minds would be the...,"
"Shut the hell up you pansy!" Ms. Morris says to O'Neil who cowards away.
"Hey, don't you go abusing my man!" Ms. Bartch fires back.
"Your man!? You might want to strip him naked to make sure of that fact."
"Enough!" Ms Li shouts and the fighting stops. "All right, one at a time, tell me what she's been doing to the freshmen."
"I've got no freshmen cheerleaders. Hell, I can't get any of the freshmen girls to do the "impromptu" in-class practices. We also have no freshmen students on the football team." Ms. Morris says crossing her arms.
"Good thing I didn't have her take gym this semester." Ms. Li replies.
"She tricks me into giving a period long rant about men and that has gotten my class behind. I've tried to get caught up but she has become infuriating!" Ms. Bartch states.
"All that she is doing in my class is protecting those little punks. She is always the first one answering every question I ask." Mr. Di Martino explains.
"Your lucky, Anthony." Mr. O'neil says sniffling. "She always makes me cry."
"Oh get a set of balls, O'Niel." Ms. Morris says ready to slap the overly sensitive man.
"All right, give me time and I'll come up with something." Ms. Li states and the small group of teachers leave. 'Damn you Morgandorffer, how have you been able to get all those freshmen to listen to you? You are making things harder on me. I'm just glad that the upperclassmen aren't being dragged into this. Detention won't work on her. Suspension or expulsion will just give her what she wants. I can't fail her because of her perfect grades! I'll get rid of her...,one way or the other.' Ms. Li ponders leaning back in her chair.

In another part of town, another meeting was taking place. A familiar quartet of girls were discussing the same thing that the staff of Lawndale High had just finished talking about.
"Your cousin...,or whatever...,has been making life for the rest of us upperclassmen very difficult." Sandy states to Quinn.
"She's just leading the freshmen on some silly fight against Ms. Li." Quinn explains.
"Well, this fight is costing everyone else as well. We're seniors just like she is. She should consider what her actions might do to the rest of us." Sandy quips back.
"I can't do anything about her. She's unreasonable." Quinn replies.
"Brains are always like that." Tiffany says in her normal, slow tone of voice.
"She must be forced to listen to reason. Li may start to punish the rest of us for her behavior." Sandy states haughtily.
"How are we supposed to correct something that Ms. Li started in the first place? Had she graduated my cousin we would not be in this situation in the first place!" Quinn wails out.
"True, but we are and I see only one way to fix it." Sandy says getting a menacing glint in her eye.
"What would that be?" Stacy asks timidly.
"We'll just have to get some of the football players to rough her up after school tomorrow. We can't get them to do it during school for fear of the freshmen revolting." Sandy answers smirking.
"Are you sure? This is risky." Quinn says hesitantly.
"They'll just scare her. I know that your mother would sick the entire law firm that she works for on everyone if she were to be actually hurt." Sandy explains as Quinn still looks worried.

'Another day of being the shepherd of the freshmen sheeple. The teachers are cracking. I'll have Li where I want her before thanksgiving break.' Daria thinks to herself the next day as she walks out of the front doors of the school. She hadn't noticed the small group of sophomores and Juniors following her.
"Hey, brain!" one of the juniors calls out. She ignores the dumb upperclassman and continues to walk. "Stop when I'm fucking talking to you!" This makes Daria stop and turn towards the group that was closing in on her.
"Well, offensive or defensive linemen? I need to know so I'll know how slow and how small of words to use." Daria says smirking.
"Look you little bitch, quit pissing off Ms. Li. It'll just get the rest of us in trouble."
"I'm under no obligation to listen to you. Sandy put you up to this didn't she?" Daria asks.
"That doesn't matter. What will matter is what we'll do to you if you keep making the freshmen piss off the principal." the first says but then everyone hears someone clear their throat and speak.
"Is there a problem here, gentlemen?" Trent asks coming up with his switchblade gleaming in the sun.
"who the hell are you?" the junior asks.
"Someone you don't want to mess with. If I hear of anyone of you touching her," he starts then swings the knife in a throat cutting motion, "you'll have your throat cut out. You guys get my drift?"
"ye-ye-yeah, we've gotcha," the junior says as the group backs down.
"Let's go," he says turning to Daria who smiles at him.

"Thanks for bailing me out back there, Trent." Daria says gratefully. "What are you doing out of the studio?"
"We needed to get out of there for a few days. Playing live gigs is much different than recording something in a booth." Trent replies.
"You guys already tried to kill each other? You haven't put out your first album yet."
"It's just Jessie and Max. Jess needs food to properly function meaning that we have to take more breaks than Max would like. Daric and I are probably the hardest working of the four of us. The guy at the label wants us to find a female keyboard player to round us out. Techno ain't my thing, but Daric thinks that we could find a gothic keyboardist and I could go for that."
"A metal-grunge-gothic sound, it's original at least."
"Yeah, but I didn't think we'd do a double album, but with all of the old stuff from when Daric was in the band to begin with and all of the stuff I wrote, we are going to make our first album a double. I do like dealing with independent labels, though."
"No corporate big men telling you how you should sound."
"Yeah, ya got that right." Trent says laughing.
"Hey, you think you could drag that body of yours out of bed to take and pick me up from school while you're here?"
"For you, anything. How's Janie?"
"Boston seems to be treating her well. Going to a big city like that will keep her occupied until she can come back to this boring hole in the wall...,at least that's what she keeps telling me." Daria replies and Trent laughs again.

Sandy wasn't happy the next morning as she walks through the halls of LHS. She had heard about the failed attempt to scare the brain into backing down. She didn't pay much attention to the figure that was following her. Had she, Sandy would have known that Daria was following her. The fashion clubber found herself pinned against a locker with her arm near to being pulled out of its socket.
"I'm only going to warn you once, Griffin. You better stay out of my way. If I get my way with Li she'll graduate me before the end of this semester. If you pull something like that again Quinn will be president because I'll put you in the hospital. You'll not know where or when it'll come, but I promise if you get in my way you'll feel my wrath as well." Daria growls in her ear and slams Sandy's head into the locker. It didn't do too much damage, but it got the point across.

***

"I can't believe that brain! She almost broke my arm and smashed my head through a locker!" Sandy exclaims during lunch to the other three.
"I guess this would be a bad time to tell you that she has taken several years worth of self-defense classes." Quinn says sheepishly.
"That's why she was able to sneak up on me like that. we'll have to hope for now that Ms. Li comes up with something to stop that brain." Sandy says in a huff.

"I see you've improved on keeping your floor clean." Daria says dropping her over night bag beside Trent's bed. It was now Friday night and she was going to spend the weekend with him no matter what her mother would say.
Trent coughs as he laughs and finally says, "I sometimes get around to doing things like that." he says with a smile. He pulls her to him, but the door opens before Trent could start.
"Hello Trent," Amanda Lane greets.
"Mom? What are ya doing back in town?" Trent asks after the two had quickly split apart due to Amanda's abrupt entrance.
"Mmmm, I guess I'm not showing yet." Amanda comments.
"Uh mom, what are you saying?" Trent asks.
"Haven't you wondered why me and your father spend so much time apart?"
"Uh, not really." Trent replies.
"We can't keep our hands off each other. Sex is such a beautiful thing." Amanda says with a thoughtful look.
"Mom, are you saying you're going to have another kid?" Trent asks.
"That's right. Your father should be back in a week or two."
"Uh, will the rest of the family be showing up?"
"I don't think so." she replies. "Hm mmm, you're Helen's eldest butterfly aren't you?" Amanda asks Daria who just nods. "You'll start to show certain Lane behaviors once you take on our last name."
"How did you...?" Daria starts to ask.
"I sensed the love in this room." Amanda replies. "Don't worry you two, I won't mind your activities."
"Uh, mom, I was wondering if the basement could be turned into a recording studio for my band?" Trent asks.
"I think so. I'll be buying that property behind our house and have a studio of my own." she answers. "Don't overexert yourselves in your bonding. It can be tiresome." Amanda says and leaves the room.
"That was unexpected." Daria states.
"Janie is going to flip." Trent says.
"What did she mean by taking on behaviors after I become a Lane?"
"For some reason or another, our family is just a bunch of wonderers. Even those who marry into the family get a need to globe hop."
"What have you've gotten me into, Lane?" she asks. Trent laughs and lays himself down on the bed.
"Well, shall we exert ourselves?" Trent asks.
"Are you sure...,"
"She won't mind." Trent replies.

She glares at the envelope laying on her bed as if the contents had offended her in some way. She paces back and forth in her room still debating with her self whether or not to open it. She sighs and resigns herself and opens it. She smirks and quickly goes over to the phone and dials a number.
"Hey Daric, give the phone to Trent." Daria commands. "Trent...,she didn't screw me this time. I've got that useless piece of paper known as a diploma....,She'll be back in three days...,All right, see you then." Daria says and hangs up. 'Finally things are looking up. That means they'll come crashing down sometime after the new year.' Daria muses.

"My god. My brother's band will put out their first record early next year, my best friend finally got away from the tyrant's clutches, and now I find out that my mother has two buns in the oven." Jane says as she and Daria unpack her things.
"That's what you get for going to an exciting place like Boston." Daria quips.
"Uhhh, about that," Jane begins.
"What?"
"I'm transferring."
"Transferring?"
"Yeah. The professors up there are just too snooty. I found out that someone was starting an art department at the local campus of U-Conn that just opened up here."
"Who told you that?" Daria asks.
"Oh just the head of the department." Jane says smirking.
"And who would you know that would be taking that job?"
"Ms. Defoe."
"Hm, I was wondering why she had a serene look on her face after the last day of school I had. Although, I heard maniacal laughter from Di Martino that day as well."
"Hm, wonder if those two are an item?"
"Ugh, don't give me that picture, Lane." Daria says blanching at the idea.
"Soooo, where will you be going?"
"I'll see if I can enroll at U-Conn as well. Let's just hope being a husky is better than being a lion."
"That ought to drive Quinn through the wall."
"Actually, I'm going to move into Trent's room."
Jane arches an eyebrow, "You going to keep it clean when he's not around?"
"He's gotten better at it."
"Well, who knew that our lives could get better...,and all we had to do was survive high school."
"It must be the universe's way of rewarding us for going through the hell known as Lawndale High."
"So, will the freshmen army become loyal servants of Li?"
"I've implanted suggestions in their minds. They'll be find."
"Did you improve the brainwashing process?"
"That and the fact that they were willing to be brainwashed by me." she says and the pair both smirk.

Author's Ramblings

I wish to thank AMindOfIron, jaguarsolaris, and my most loyal reviewer, Lady Delilah for reviewing all of my Daria fics. I apologize for the lack of lemon content in this part. I think I've blown most of it in my previous stories. If there any scenes from any episode that you think could be turned into a Trent/Daria one-shot or a multi-chapter story, let me know. For now, go read my other fics in the Anime sections of aff.net if you're reading this there. C'mon you GA lurkers, I know you've got to be reading this. I won't bite if you review me.
