(we open the second chapter with a shot of the Cluster loading dock where a ship is ready to take off. We see Vexus and Chrom below the craft.)

Chrom: Are you ready to go, my dear?

Vexus: Of course. You know when I visit other planets to discuss policies, I'm always prepared.

Chrom: I see. But other than visiting Queen Tyra'nee on Mars, aren't you bust as well?

Vexus: You're right. I do have a lot on my plate. But I promise to come back home when I'm done.

Chrom: But what of this girl, XJ-9?

Vexus: I'll be sure to grant her an introductory visit later on. (kisses her husband on the cheek) Not to worry... I'll be back.

(she then walks over to the ship as it prepares to take off. As it does so, we focus behind Chrom as we see Trinako watching on. Knowing that she has the queen's permission, not to mention the queen's busy scheduale, she has some time to speak to the king... alone.)

(we then cut to Chrom in his master chambers, contemplating on what to do for the day. Before he computes a thought, the door opens, revealing Trinako. Needless to say, Chrom is surprised.)

(we then cut to another flashback, this time Trinako is outside his room, where Chrom looks afraid.)

Trinako: You called, Prince?

Trinako: (confused) What for?

Chrom: (scared) I'm a bit scared here by myself. It's too dark.

(Trinako just smiles at the little robot prince and nods. We then cut to them in bed; Chrom has a smile on his face as he sleeps, while Trinako sleeps as well. Seconds later, Chrom awakes and rises his head to face Trinako.)

Chrom: (quietly) Can I tell you a secret, Miss Trinako?

Trinako: (stirs, then speaks quietly) Yes, Prince Chrom?

Chrom: (shyly) I... I really like you, Miss Trinako.

Trinako: (touched) You do?

Chrom: Yeah. When I grow up and when I become king, I'll make you my bride someday.

Chrom: Alright. (goes to sleep, as does Trinako)

(we then cut to when Chrom is in his mid-teens. He and Trinako are having a conversation about Trinako's new boyfriend.)

Chrom: (unhappy) Why are you going out with the Ambassador now?

Trinako: My prince, you are too young for me to date. The Ambassador is a nice man-bot, and I promise that he would never do me harm. I hope you'll understand.

(Chrom has a minute or so to think this over. He then says...)

Trinako: (confused) Pardon?

(we then cut back to the present, where Chrom and Trinako are at the master bedroom.)

Chrom: Impressive, my love! I'm sure Tyra'nee has plans for galactic domination.

Vexus: I suppose. But mine are in a much grander scale.

Chrom: Anything else?

Vexus: Indeed. I will leave first thing tomorrow morning to put the plan into effect.
