Part 2

NOTE: I decided to continue this fic against my better judgement. Let the retconning begin!

Part 2

Kim walked through the Middleton High corridors, almost oblivious to the crowds around her. She could kind of sense that they were there and hear the noise they made, but none of it really registered. It was almost as if a wall had been put up between herself and the rest of the world. It wasn't really a stone wall, she could still look through it, but what was on the other side wasn't exactly her world any more.

Kim could pinpoint the precise moment when it had happened. It was about a week ago when a Kim Possible from another dimension had shown up outside her window. She couldn't quite remember what had gone down that night, although she could guess most of it. The only thing that really stood out in her mind whenever she thought about that night was the other Kim, blazing like the most magnificent sun and she herself could do nothing but orbit her like a doomed comet.

She wanted to feel like that again, to bask in her radiance, to be held by her and have her stroke her hair. She wanted it so much it hurt. Which is why she desperately didn't want it.

On reaching her locker, Kim opened it to find Wade smiling at her from the little computer screen.

"Hey Wade," said Kim cheerfully, secretly amazed at how sincere she sounded. "What's the sitch?"

"Good news Kim," Wade said. "It's been totally quiet for a while, so I had plenty of time to work on that interdimensional transporter you wanted."

"Right," said Kim. "Right."

Wade frowned. "Something wrong?"

"No, no," said Kim. "Just... never mind. I take it this is it?" she added, picking up a little package in discreet brown paper.

"Yep," said Wade. "I programmed it so that whenever you're in another dimension, you always return to this one the next time you use it. Don't want you getting lost, now do we?"

Kim smiled faintly. "No, not really."

"Anyway, I managed to program in a couple of dimension that I think your Kim came from."

"A couple?" said Kim.

"Well, you didn't really tell me in what way she was opposite to you, so I'm not totally sure which one it is."

"But you did manage to find some potential ones," said Kim.

"Yeah," said Wade. "Once I invented the interdimensional resonance scanner it was a piece of cake."

"I'm sure it was, Wade," said Kim.

"I programmed in five different dimensions," said Wade. "I'm sure you're not evil in any of them, but I don't know if any of them belong to the Kim you met."

"Thanks for the effort, Wade," said Kim. "I totally owe you one."

"Ah, I had nothing better to do anyway," said Wade. "Hey, if you happen to meet me, tell him I said 'hi'."

"Will do," said Kim. "Bye Wade."

"Later Kim."

-----

Kim sat on her bed, staring at the interdimensional transporter. It looked amazingly unimpressive. In fact, it looked just like a bulky remote control.

She could activate right now and be with... with Kim again. And nobody would know, because nobody else could hop between dimensions. She could just go and... and... lose herself.

No, not lose herself.

Be herself.

But did she really want to be herself? Herself was apparently a spineless doormat, which wasn't exactly what she'd always wanted to be. And, and anyway there was nothing to say the other Kim had been right about her. And besides, she'd been so overwhelmed with surprise at seeing herself that... that...

That she knelt at the other Kim's feet and did what she told her to. And she'd enjoyed it. No, not enjoyed, that wasn't the right word. Oh, there was enjoyment, but that wasn't the most important thing. Fulfilled, maybe.

Oh great, the only one who could fulfill her was herself. That had to rank pretty highly on the weird-o-meter.

Kim sat on her bed, staring at the interdimensional transporter.

She could throw it out the window. She could walk out of her room and into a normal life, where she would go to college, find a husband, have 2.5 kids and save the world a couple of times a month. That was the sane option. It would be safe and predictable and it would be a life filled with joy.

Or at least, it would be a life filled with joy if she was some other Kim.

But... the alternative...

Kim sat on her bed, staring at the interdimensional transporter.

Then she stood up, gripped the transporter tightly and opened a portal.

-----

Kim sat at her desk, staring at the almost entirely blank piece of paper in front of her. Only one word was written on it so far and more words were obviously needed.

If only she knew which ones.

There was a rush of air, almost blowing the paper off her desk. Kim turned around quickly and saw... Kim.

"Uhm... hello," said Kim.

"Hi," said the newcomer.

"I take it you're not my evil clone?" said Kim.

"No," said Kim.

"Good," said Kim. "Because I'm not really in the mood to fight myself right now."

"Neither am I," said Kim. "So... uh... you ever travelled through the dimensions?"

"Not yet," Kim answered. "Why? Should I?"

"Oh, probably not," said Kim.

"Then why are you?" Kim asked.

"I'm looking for someone," said Kim.

"Don't tell me Ron got lost between the dimensions or something."

"No," said Kim. "Fortunately it's not that."

"OK," said Kim. "So you're just passing through?"

"Yeah, I'll be out of your way again soon," said Kim.

"Oh, it's no trouble," said Kim.

Something that looked like a very large cell phone beeped.

"Oh, that's my cue," said Kim. "I'll be going now."

"Right," said Kim. "Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too."

And with that, Kim was alone in her bedroom once again. Once upon a time meeting herself from another dimension would be cause for surprise. But that time had been before she'd started up her website.

"OK," Kim breathed. "Back to work."

Shego,

Kim stared at the word with her mind a total blank.

There really should be a class teaching how to write love letters.

-----

Kim stepped out of the portal a second time, or the third time if she counted stepping out of the portal that had delivered her back to her own dimension, which she didn't.

She was once again in a bedroom, made obvious by the presence of the single person three beds. There was also a large closet and a sink and red drapes hung elegantly besides the large window. A small television and a miniature fridge completed the furniture of this bedroom.

Which meant that Kim now kind of had to look at the occupants of the room.

Three girls sat on one of the beds. They were naked. They were also Monique, Shego and Bonnie, but the fact they were naked was the thing that stuck into Kim's mind the most. But the weird thing about them... well, one of the weird things about them was that their nudity didn't seem to be sexual in any way. They just happened to not be wearing any clothes. The only thing the three of them did wear was a... a fashionable neck accessory. Made of black leather. With a little metal tag attached.

And then there were the... tattoos. Each girl had a tattoo of what looked very much like a barcode underneath their right eye. In fact, it looked exactly like a barcode.

And then there were their breasts. Well, not their breasts breasts, but the skin near the top of their right breast. They had... something... which looked very much like a 'K' and a 'P' sitting inside a circle, except for Shego who had her KP mark on her left breast and who had something that looked kind of like a D with a very large X through it on her right breast.

"Hi girl," said Monique.

Kim blinked at the familiarity of Monique's voice before wondering why she thought it would be any different.

"Hi," said Kim. "Is this...?"

"The dimension that you're the opposite from?" Monique said. "Well, let's find out. Shego?"

Shego looked down at something that looked very much like a handheld gaming system. It pinged just once.

Shego looked at Monique and nodded.

"Yep," said Monique. "Looks like you're the Kim our Mistress told us about."

"She... told you about me?" Kim asked, feeling strangely happy about it.

"At great length," said Bonnie.

"And now we finally get to meet you," said Monique, standing up. "Shego, go inform our Mistress, will you?"

Shego nodded and quietly left the room.

"Poor girl," Bonnie muttered. "If I get my hands on..."

"Bonnie, later," said Monique. She walked to Kim and gave her a hug. Kim wasn't quite sure how to respond to that, but it was a very nice hug, so she hugged back. "Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too," said Kim. "Even Bonnie I guess."

"You guess?" said Bonnie.

"In my dimension we're not the best of friends," said Kim.

"Why not?"

"Clashing personalities I guess," said Kim.

Bonnie blinked. "Freaky."

"Anyway," said Kim. "So you're... uhm... I mean you..."

"We're Kim's property," said Monique.

"And I was her first slave," said Bonnie with what sounded like pride.

"You don't really act like it," said Kim. "I mean, I didn't really expect you to be..."

"So talkative?" said Monique.

"Yeah, I guess," said Kim.

"Well, this is our room," said Bonnie. "So we don't need permission to talk."

"Oh," said Kim. "I didn't know that."

"Yeah, Mistress tells us your world is pretty whack," said Monique.

"I could say the same about your world," said Kim.

"Yes, but the difference between your world and mine is that yours is the opposite bizzaro one."

All heads turned towards the door opening where Kim stood. Kim instantly sensed a subtle change in the air. Even though this was their room, Monique and Bonnie were in the presence of their Mistress now and that affected them. They fell silent and looked smaller somehow. Kim's presence affected Kim too. She suddenly didn't know where to look or how to act and felt very awkward and silly. Even more so than before.

Only Shego seemed unaffected, standing quietly behind Kim just on the other side of the threshold.

"So you accepted my invitation," said Kim.

"Kind of," said Kim. "I'm not sure."

"If you're not sure, you can leave," said Kim. "I hope you know how to leave."

"Yeah," said Kim. "Wade designed the transporter to automatically bring me back home."

"That's good," said Kim. "So why are you here? Just a friendly visit?"

"You know that's not true," said Kim. "But... I guess I'm just scared."

"Scared of what?" Kim asked.

"I don't know. People finding out?"

"You're in another dimension right now," said Kim. "I don't think you need to worry about that."

"It's the unknown," said Bonnie.

"Really?" said Monique. "I figured she's afraid of not being able to go back."

"Pfft," said Bonnie. "She's been with the Mistress. There's no going back. Not really."

"She's right," said Kim. "I don't think I can ever go back to being totally normal, but I don't know what's going to happen if I go forward."

"You'll be happy," said Bonnie. "That's what's going to happen."

"You're probably right," said Kim. "No, you're right. I would be happy here. Happier than there, I think."

"Are you sure?" Kim asked.

"Yes," said Kim, with rising determination.

Kim nodded. "OK then." She turned around and looked at the still Shego. "Shego, you can go into your room if you want. Do you understand?"

Shego nodded, but otherwise didn't move.

Kim sighed. "Come on, Kim. Follow me."

It wasn't a very long walk, but then again it wasn't a very big apartment. Of course, it wasn't exactly a small apartment either. Kim didn't really see what it looked like, though, as she walked behind Kim. The only things going through her mind were I can't believe this really happening! and Oh God, I can't believe this is really happening!.

Kim stopped in front of a cabinet, took something out of it and turned around to show it to Kim. It was a black collar with a little tag saying 'Kim'.

"Last chance," said Kim. "You can still back out."

"My mind's made up."

Kim grinned, walked behind Kim and slowly collared her.

"Mine," said Kim.

"Yours," said Kim.
