Epilogues

* Where Is Thy Sting *

"Optimus, you knew that was really Bumblebee the whole time, didn't you."

"Yeah. It was Bulkhead that needed to understand that, not me."

* Five Servos of Doom *

"So, what else can you do with processor-over-matter?"

      "Shall I demonstrate?"

* Afterwards *

There was a tugging on his Spark. At first he thought it came from his counterpart somehow, but the feeling was different. It roused him out of a fitful recharge; he hadn't been recharging well, after returning to Cybertron. After the final battle. After Prowl … He wandered through the darkened halls of Autobot Headquarters, his steps lit by the dim glow of the AllSpark cystal that still hung from his neck. The tug at his core led him downwards, inwards, until he ended up in the crypt where bodies were stored until their recycling ceremony.

He floated, bodiless, in a vast expanse of space. Around him were millions on millions of glowing points, the Sparks of all Primus-born beings that had once lived, or would live; which were Autobot, which were Decepticon, there was no way to tell. One Spark there was well known to him, and floated by his side. "I understand better now, Master."
"You have learned well indeed, my student."
He considered the great swirl of Sparks above him. "So this is where my journey leads. And yet …"
A soft chuckle. "Your journey has brought you here for a short time, but this is not its end. Go now; you are a student no more. When your journey is complete, we will meet again."

Blue light flooded his optics, blinding him. He heard it before his vision cleared: the faint hum of a bot's systems powering up, components test cycling. He frantically refreshed his graphics. Color was coming back to the body on the slab in front of him as its Spark revived it. "Prowl!"

"Optimus?" The formerly dead bot turned on his optics and sat up.

"Look like Primus still has work for us to do." He smiled and touched the AllSpark , which was slowly fading to its usual glow.

"It never ends, does it. "

"Well, I'm expecting Megatron to break out of prison any day now. I'd be glad to have you with me when he does."

Prowl stood up and gave him a smirk that said, you're glitched if you think I'd be anywhere else. "Shall we, then?"

They stepped out into the hall together.

The End?

I have an idea for a story that would be a sequel to this and a continuation of the TFA storyline, but it is far too epic to dive into right away. For one thing, it will involve Megatron busting out of jail. ^^

My next story in this section will be a G1 OP/P story set in the very early days of the great war , long before the beginning of the TV series. Watch for the title "Opening Maneuvers".

Furmanism Tote Board

In each chapter of this story, I have included a Furman catchphrase. And here they are:

  1. What chance do I have?
  2. What are you playing at?
  3. brought down to Earth – literally
  4. power beyond measure
  5. fight and die (ratchet re: Tyger Pax )
  6. like some predatory bird
  7. cannot, will not
  8. Surplus to requirements
  9. You won't believe what I can do
  10. short, sharp lesson
  11. all the dirty jobs
  12. time I made a stand
  13. well and truly
  14. can I do less?
  15. reap the whirlwind
  16. it can be hurt
  17. it never ends

How many did you spot?

Thanks for reading, everyone, and see you in the next story.
