Naugus smiled to himself. Lazar had a loyal guardian guarding him, however, he was Naugus, he wouldn't be blocked by such a weakling.
"Unfortunately, you serve an unworthy master," Naugus rasped out and turned the guardian into crystal which shattered a moment later. He smiled and entered the Forbidden Zone.

"Wake up!" Naugus shouted and Lazar sat up and looked at Naugus.
"You, why have you done such evil?" Lazar asked.
"You fool! You were on our side and now you wish to go good!? Master Mogul will not stand for this!"
"I have no master, evil sorcerer. Now begone!"
"If you wish me gone, you'll have to kill me," Naugus said and attacked the other sorcerer.

"Grrr, damn traps!" Sentinal swore. He was making his way through the Forbidden Zone, trying to9 get to Lazar, but that task was proving difficult.
Sir Charles had sent a message saying that Naugus was going after Lazar. Mammoth Mogul wanted Lazar dead. Sentinal had quickly volunteered to go, seeing that he was the only one that could stop Naugus.

"You've been asleep too long, Lazar. You can't match me and you know it."
"You will not bring me to that evil creature," Lazar growled, but in the back of his mind he knew he didn't stand a chance. He could curse those that didn't have magic to defend them, but Naugus was as powerful, if not more so than than he was.
"I'll put you into permanent retirement," Naugus vowed.
"Mind if I cut in?" Sentinal growled.
"You!" Naugus shouted.
"An echidna he is, kill him you won't," Lazar said, slightly out of breath.
"Just what will you do to me here?" Naugus taunted Sentinal.
"I've got another trick up my sleeve," he said, took a shell from his shoulder strap. "Here, eat this!" he shouted and fired. Naugus cried in pain from the magical effects of the weapon.
"Hmmmm, interesting," Lazar commented.
"Caster shells, they are perfect for you sorcerers," Sentinal growled.
"Grrr, let's see your caster get through this," Naugus growled and put up a shield.
Sentinal loaded another shell and fired. This time, the effects were more pronounced.
"Ahhhh!" Naugus shouted and fell onto his back.
"Leave I suggest you do," Lazar growled.
"Not before I do this," Naugus got out and a black spell blasted towards Lazar. He tried to defend himself, and Sentinal tried to shield him, but the echidna was too slow and Lazar was too weak. The mage fell onto his back gasping and Naugus vanished.
"Dying I am," Lazar gasped out.
"I'm sorry," Sentinal said, kneeling at his side.
"Your caster, use it on my computer. Make sure it is vaporized," Lazar requested and the Echidna nodded.
"Is there a way to rid Mobius of Mogul and Naugus?"
"You can't keep protecting them from Naugus. He and his master know your weakness," Lazar explained, talking normally.
"Damn."
"They absorbed the power of the Deep Power Stones...reawaken with..." Lazar continued but he couldn't continue to speak and he finally passed on.
"Shit," Sentinal swore again and targeted Lazar's computer and the caster shell vaporized it, destroying it and the evil magic within.
"Fuck, power cells at 24%, better make sure I don't get into anymore trouble on my way back to Knothole," Sentinal said to himself and left the zone.

"Sugah!" Bunnie shouted seeing the tired echidna coming into Knothole.
"Sentinal?" Sally asked.
"Naugus was there, like Chuck said...killed Lazar...had to destroy computer with caster shell...said to reawaken power of Deep Power Stones, but died before telling how...recharge sequence starting...now," he gasped out and fell over onto his belly. Several freedom fighters, along with Rotor and Bunnie, helped the echidna to Bunnie's hut.
Sally sighed to herself as she followed to make sure they got Sentinal to Bunnie's. They could only use the stones once, how were they supposed to use them again?

"He is dead, my lord," Naugus pronounced to Mogul who smiled.
"Excellent. That ought to teach that traitor," Mammoth Mogul said.
'They killed Lazar. I must keep my own traitorous thoughts to myself or I will end up like Lazar!' Robotnik thought.
"The echidna will be too worn out to do anything for them," Naugus reported.
"This ought to be good then...hehehe....Julian, bring us that old roboticized hedgehog that is still hiding in this city."
"Sir Charles...." Robotnik began, not realizing that the old hedgehog was still in the city.
"Foolish Overlander...he is still here. I want him so I may lure the blue hedgehog here. The black one I can face since we both use powers of Chaos, but the blue one absorbed the power of the Deep Power Stones, a power beyond my understanding! I want him dead before he unlocks the secret!" Mammoth ranted.
"He's not that bright. He couldn't find a way to unlock the power again," Robotnik replied.
"Fool! You are so blind with rage for that hedgehog that you don't realize he's only half of your problem! It's his other half, that red headed ground squirrel that'll be the one to figure it out. The hedgehog is the brute force and she the brains and cunning. Don't ever forget that!" Mammoth shouted.

Sally paced back and forth in her and Sonic's hut. Her mind was working faster than Sonic could run. What did Lazar mean by reawakening the power of the stones? And, with Sentinal out of commission for at least a day, they would have to raid supplies without him.
Feeling someone's eyes upon her, she turned and saw her blood mate looking at her with a grin on his face.
"What are you smiling about?" she asked, half annoyed and half teasing.
"I like watching you pace," Sonic answered, still smiling.
"It's going to be harder to get those supplies to Sanctuary now," Sally began.
"Hey, we can do it," Sonic confidently replied and embraced his blood mate.
"I guess Shadow and Maria will have to pick up the slack then. We've got too many in that roost," she sighed and Sonic held her close. However, there was a sickening at the the pit of his stomach that was telling him that something bad was going to happen.
