"Are you sure about this Sal?" Sonic asked. She got nose to nose with him and the determination he saw there in her eyes almost scared him.
"You and I both know that we've been drifting apart, slowly. Ever since we got my father back we haven't been around each other much. My father has kept me away and you've been spending more time with Tails."
Sonic couldn't deny what she was saying. Their time alone together was almost nonexistent. That was something that kept rubbing the blue hedgehog the wrong way. He was just glad another male hadn't tried to horn in on her. That really would have messed with his quills.
"I know, I just don't want you regretting doing this an hating yourself and or me later. I couldn't stand you hating me," he quietly said.
"You might be arrogant, annoying, hard headed, stubborn, but even with all those flaws, I could never hate you. I want this."
Sonic looked deeply into her eyes for several long moments. Seeing no doubt there, Sonic nodded. "Ok Sal, let's do it." She kissed him and took him by the hand.

The elderly cat smiled to himself, seeing the princess bringing in the blue hedgehog. The cat brought out a knife and the moment Sonic saw it he got a little nervous.
"Don't turn green, I only need to swipe the palm of each of your right hands," the cat explained. He stood between the two and took each hand and made a deep enough gash in their palms. They both winced, but didn't back away.
The cat took both their bleeding hands and pressed them against each other. "You come bonded by love, you shall now leave this place bonded by blood. Let no other tear this asunder," the old cat uttered. Sally felt overjoyed and Sonic had a goofy grin on his face.

There's shugah-hog," Bunnie said and Sonic came to a stop with Sally still in his arms.
"You can put me down," Sally grinned.
"What if I don't want to?" Sonic asked. Bunnie snickered and Sentinal grinned.
"Y'all did something didn't y'all?" Bunnie asked.
"Blood Marriage ceremony. It was used back when there weren't enough nobles for the royals to marry. It was to put some royal blood into the so-called peasant that was marrying into the family," Sally explained, still smiling, still in Sonic's arms.
"Uh oh, incoming king," Sentinal said quietly. Sally got out of Sonic's arms and stood, her hands on her hips, looking defiantly at her father.
"And just where have you been?" her father growled.
"We visited the last living member of the High Mobian Court. He performed the ancient blood marriage ritual," Sally answered.
"What!?" she shouted.
"We are married, father, and there's nothing you can do about it because that is ancient Mobian law. No one has the authority to overturn that. Sonic, I'll be moving into your hut."
"Uh..."
"Yes, and I'll be making sure you keep that place of yours clean," she teased. A rock cam flying in and it hit Sentinal in the side of the head.
"Who threw that!?" the echidna shouted and Bunnie picked the rock with a roll of paper attached to it.
"Uh Sallygirl," Bunnie began and handed the note to Sally.
"Why those...!" Sally fumed. Sonic finally read the not and bit his lip. Nack and his thugs had nabbed Sasha and Tails while they were probably playing somewhere in the Great Forest. The weasel was going to turn them over to Naugus and there was nothing they could do about it.

"I know why you've got the runts tied up, but why do you have me tied up!?" Snively shouted.
"Quiet!" Nack said, waving his weapon, a plasma rifle, around. "You all will be sold to Mammoth Mogul," Nack said with a grin.
"Is that all you care about, money?" Sasha growled.
"Money is the only thing left on this miserable ball, runt," Nack growled. "Now be quiet or I'll just mess that pretty little face up of yours."
"Don't you even dare!" Tails shouted.
"Awe, isn't that cute. The young fox is exactly like that blue hedgehog, he's got the same crappy taste in females.
I ought to shoot her just to see what you would actually do," Nack mocked.
The moment those words came out of his mouth, something deep within Tails snapped. He shouted out an inhuman cry and a blast of power knocked everyone out. Tails, now freed, panted.
"Tails!" Sasha shouted, still tied up. Not knowing what happened or how it happened, he came over to the younger Acorn and untied her. The two cubs hugged and like his hero, he took Sasha up into his arms, twirled his Tails and flew off.

Sonic was ignoring the arguing going on between Sally, her father, and Sentinal. He wasn't going to jump in since his wife and Sentinal were doing a good enough job of arguing with the king.
He smiled at the fact that Sally was his wife. Before he could think on that lovely thought more, he heard the sound of twirling tails.
"Tails!" Sonic shouted and the two tailed fox landed.
"Where's Maria? I...I need to talk..." he began but the kitsume in question appeared beside him.
"Your powers awakened," she explained.
"Powers?" Sonic asked.
"As I said, he's a kitsume. Sasha's distress brought them to the surface. I must train you now so you may be able to properly control them."
"Teach me, please," Tails asked eagerly. He knew if he could learn then maybe, just maybe, he would be allowed to go on missions with Sonic. Maria smiled. She knew that the younger fox wanted to be more useful to the group, but he had to understand that it responded to a need, not a desire. He had a lot to learn, but he was eager to learn, but she hoped that he had the patience for it.

"Ugh, what the hell happened," Nack said, coming to. "Ahhhh! they're gone!" Snively was still tied up. The weasel relaxed. Maybe they could get something for his worthless hide.
