Walking along downtown, Zim was entraced by everything. Having rest on a bench, he and Dib joked about all the strang people they saw, piercings everywhere, metal spikes hanging off their clothes, chains practically dragging them to the ground as they walk, and of course normal people... who seemed.... strangly out of the ordinary. Zim had to laugh at that, to think that the people that seemed normal elsewhere, were seeming strange here.
"What's that?" Zim asked, gesturing to a guy who had a spiked collar one.
Dib grinned, having fun answering all of Zim's questions. "The guy or what he's wearing?" He joked slightly. "That's called a collar, Zim. Humans wear it to make themselves look cool."
Zim eyed it longingly. "On Irk, one that wore such a thing would be considered abnormal. Maybe... I would like to try something like it on... just to see."
Dib looked surprised. That was the last thing he expected Zim to be intrested in. Shrugging, he stood up, finishing off his ice cream. "Alright then," He said, licking his lips. "There's a place not too far from here that sells stuff like that."
Zim followed suit, standing up and finishing his ice cream, savoring the flavor as it rolled down his throat, leaving him feeling satisfied. "Lead the way, Dib-human." He commanded, but his voice held no trace of the hard authority it once had.
Dib glared at Zim teasingly. "I won't go if you ask me like that." He struggled to keep a grin from his lips. "You have to say please."
Zim glowered at Dib, his body tensing, but Dib didn't give in. Finally he sighed. "Please?"
Dib grinned. "Sure." And began to lead the way.
Zim followed close behind, confused, his anteanna twitching a bit in thought. "Why had he asked that Dib? He demanded things from humans... ordered them, commanded them even. But asking? He shook his head, trying to clear it. And why wasn't he feeling disgusted for asking? On Irk, asking for something would be a sign of weakness. Forcing someone to give it to you, or intimidating them was the only way to go.... wasn't it?
"Earth to Zim, come in Zim."
Zim blinked back to reality and looked up. Dib was waving a hand in front of his face. "What's wrong?" He asked, his voice shaking with a surpressed laugh. "You....SPACING OUT, or something?"
Zim chuckled against his will. "You could say that." He answered, his expression in a scowl but his eyes sparkling. He looked in front of Zim to see a dark, strange-looking building in front of them. "What's this?" He asked, not trusting the sight of it. "It looks.... weird."
Dib rolled his eyes and tugged on his arm. "Don't judge things from the outside." He said, grinning, letting him know that he wasn't just talking about the shop.
Zim allowed himself to be led inside and gasped. Inside were rows of jewely in silver and gold. Metal chains hung off the wall, collars of every size and shape were lining the wall. Braclets hung temptingly in reach. Zim's eyes glittered slightly greedy as he looked around.
Dib laughed. "Pick anything you want. My treat. If an alein comes to earth, shouldn't he deserve the best."
Zim had a hard time deciding on things. He was drawn to the collars, but didn't want one of the big black ones. Finally he ended up choosing a silver chain with spikes ringing it and a small hole that hung down in the front. He didn't quite know what the hole was for but he liked it anyway. (The hole is for the leash to clip onto)
He also got a number of things to go on his hands and wrists. Two plain black bands circled his wrists. Along his slender arms, thin black and green bracelets contrasted nicly with his green skin.
The band that Dib gave him was still on his wrists and it complimented the other bands nicly. Zim felt proud at his choice for that.
At first he didn't want anything to go on his fingers, afraid that it would draw attention to the fact that he only had three fingers.... but finally he decided on a small ring. The ring was silver and had a skull on the back of it, in the skulls mouth was a small stone that was swirling with color as he picked it up, but changed to a green color, ironicly matching his skin as he put it on. He gasped at the change and showed it to Dib.
Dib laughed. "Kinky isn't it? Yeah that's a mood ring Zim. It changes depending on what mood your in."
Zim blinked and slipped it on. "What does it say I am now?" He asked, showing him the green color.
Dib bit his lip. "I think it means your happy. I'll get a card from the manager as we leave."
Zim grinned as he fingers his braclets, bands, ring, and necklace. All together he felt very.... different. But in a good way. He noticed Dib staring at him and he flushed, his ring turing a slightly pink color. "What are you looking at?" He asked, his voice angry, trying to cover his embarresment.
Dib grinned. "Nothing. You look good, that's all. I'm not used to seeing you without your invader uniform." He reached over and fingered Zim's collar, careful not to get poked by the spikes, taking the hole and pulling it slightly. As he did, it tightened around Zim's throat, something he found panicing, and slightly... arousing. He blushed a deep pink and pulled away, shivering as it tightened hard before Dib released it.
They went up to pay. The manager was a guy in his twenties with short black hair, braclets hung from his arms in silver splashes. The light from a window beside him hit his braclets, sending light splashing over the shop. "Hey Dib." He greeted. "Who's your friend?"
Zim looked at Dib in surprise. He didnt' seem to be someone who would come to a shop like that very often.
Dib grinned. "Hey Mark, this is Zim. I met him at school." He toyed with Zim's antenna a bit. "He's an alien."
Zim nearly ripped off his antenna as he yanked his head away, staring at Dib with hurt eyes at the fact that Dib was telling his secret.
Mark just laughed. "Sure Dib, I know what you mean. I have a few in back." He grinned and gestured to a door. Loud music was coming from it as well as the sound of screams and movement. "You wanna join them?" He looked at Dib, expecting hiim to say no, as if he had asked the question before and Dib had never agreed.
Dib paid him and thought for a second. "Sure, why not."
Mark looked surprised and turned to Zim. "I don't know what you did to this guy, but keep at it. Goodness knows he needs more fun in his life."
Zim was about to protest that he hadn't done anything when he was practally dragged behind the counter and into the back room. He looked in surprise as he realized that the 'kinky shop' and the building next door were joined together.
Inside the huge room, glaring lights flashed across a mass of moving, sweating, grinding bodies. Looks on the people's faces varied from innocent happiness, to flirty ecstacy. Zim felt very alone.
A slight movement caught his eyes as Dib took off his signature long black jacket, leaving him in baggy black pants and his usual straight-faced shirt. Taking off his glasses as well, he set his jacket and his glasses down on a nearby counter. Someone on the other side waved to him and took his stuff, putting it away for safe keeping.
Zim stared, his cheeks flushing as he looked at Dib. He had never ealized before, just how..... hot? he was. His long hair flowed gently, messy from the day. His body was sturdy and masculine. But what really caught Zim's attention was his eyes. Without his glasses, Zim could see that they were an exotic golden color that seemed to stare into his very soul. As Dib walked back to him, his breath hitched in his throat and refused to move. Finally he managed to breath again but his breath came out more ragged than usual.
Dib took Zim's arm and led him onto the dance floor, grinning and moving in time to the music.
Zim looked at him, not knowing what to do. Was this some sort of human ritual? A calling perhaps? Looking at Dib he highly doubted it. Humans were strange in that, they entertained themselves in such curious ways. He supposed this was the same.
Hesitantly, he began to move, swaying his hips in time to the music and watching others for ideas. A ways away, a crowd had gathered around a couple of guys. Casting a glance at Dib, he moved to see what they were doing. In the center of the ring of people, some guys were breakdancing, spinning on the grond before lifting themself up, balancing on one hand before falling nimbly back to the ground.
Zim bit his lip, it looked.... fun. With a sudden rush of adreniline, he fell to the ground, spinning in a ball before mimicking the guy and bringing himself up, balancing on one hand before letting himself fall to the ground in a crouch.
Some people had noticed what Zim was doing and hurriedly pushed him to the middle of the circle, eager for someone else to watch.
Zim looked around nervously, his anteanna quirking slightly. Suddenly one of the guys grabbed his hand and bent his knees leaned back to touch the floor. Instinctivly Zim also bent his knees, leaning back and touching the ground to get his balance. In a fluid movement the guy sprang up, releasing Zim's hand. There was a split second when they were both balancing on the balls of their feet, leaning back and defying gravity. Then they grabbed each other's other hand, doing the same thing only this time with their other hand, reaching back and touching the floor.
It too Zim a few times of this to realize it was part of the amusement. A different kind of movement. As soon as he realized this, it became more enjoyable and he did it for awhile before breaking away and sending them both to the ground. The guy got up using his hands, but Zim had seen someone else get up a different way and he leaned back, arching himself up and landing on his feet.
The crowd cheered and laughed in delight. He grinned at them but slipped out of the circle, looking around for Dib. Spotting him nearby, he slides over to him.
Dib catches sight of him and grins, winking slightly to show that he had been watching. They both moved in time to the music. As they did, their bodies touched momentarily and sent electricy through Zim, leaving him shivering delciously. He still had no idea what the purpose for this entertainment was... but it was... nice.
Zim shivered as the crowd pushed him and Dib closer together, their bodies moving alondside each other. It was very nice.
