Klaxons sound across the colony warning all Lexiconians and Decimalians to head for the underground shelters. Unfortunately, moving that many people didn't per vent panic setting in as weapons' fire could be heard.

"There's too many of them!" ScholasticGirl shouts.
"We've got to give them time to get the people to a more secure location!" ShadowStriker replies.
"I wish these reflectors still worked!"
Me too!"
"Keep pushing back, they can't keep this up forever, they're only human!" Huggy shouts.

"It's time to go, sir." the governor's assistant states.
"I hope those heroes can hold them...," he says but the wall is blasted down and a one sided fire fight begins. Big Daddy and Carson come into the room smirking.
"Looks like we win, alien scum. Kill them all!" Big Daddy shouts.

"How much more can your equipment take?" Huggy asks.
"I don't know. I've never thought to test it under such heavy combat conditions." ShadowStriker states.
"Ahhh!" ScholasticGirl shouts and takes down the rest of the thugs. "C'mon! We've got to the governor's building!"

"Ah, this colony is...," Big Daddy begins but Team Alphanumeric fly in and start taking out Big's men. Carson tries to fire off his magnetic weapon, but ShadowStriker kicks it out of his hands.
"I'm going to enjoy this." ShadowStriker states.
"Hah! You think you've won, look over there." Big Daddy states and the three see the charred bodies of the governor and his staff. ScholasticGirl turns white while ShadowStriker glares at the pair.
"Do you realize what you've done?" ShadowStriker states.
"If this doesn't start a war, then nothing will." Big Daddy says and Carson drops a smoke cap blinding the three. When the smoke clears the two were gone.

"No way! You've got to be kidding me!" Becky shouts.
"I'm afraid so. The colony is quickly trying to get back order. Lexicon and Decimal have been informed, and you know what'll happen next." Arrianna states.
"Yeah, Lexicon and Decimal will want blood." Caelum states.
"Keep that colony from completely falling apart. You'll also need to make sure the people don't riot and head to bur the human colony." Becky states.
"Understood, Carina is not taking this well. I don't think she's encountered death like this before." Arrianna states.
"Help her as much as you can." Becky states and the connection cuts. Arrianna sighs to herself. The stakes had risen.

"We want justice! We want revenge! We want those responsible to pay!" a Lexiconian shouts and the gathered colonists shout their approval.
"Hold it!" ScholasticGirl shouts.
"We don't have time to listen to heroes! It's time for war!" a Decimalian shouts.
"Ripping this planet apart with war will solve nothing." ShadowStriker states.
"We lost dozens of people in that attack!" a third Lexiconian shouts.
"And I've got a way to stop them from coming back. A human villain named 'Dr. Two Brains' came up with a force field that no weapon could pierce. A large generator can be built to prevent this from happening again." ShadowStriker states.
"Humans can no longer be trusted!" another Decimalian states.
"Listen! We can't start a war! It'll just lead to more killing and I don't want that!" ScholasticGirl shouts back.
"Let us deal with them." ShadowStriker states.
"Like you've been dealing with them before this? Your parents can't deal with the problems on Earth! Face it, you two can't handle this!" the first Lexiconian shouts.
"Let us build that shield generator and then we can discuss this later. Right now none of you have cool heads. You go to that human colony with blood lust and you'll start a war that will be worse than the war Lexicon and Decimal fought!" ShadowStriker retorts.
"And what do you know of that war, human?" a Decimalian asks.
"I've studied that war. It went on for bloody year after bloody year! Let us finish this." ShadowStriker states. This seems to calm the crowd down.

"Throw the switch Huggy." Arrianna instructs Huggy. He flips the switch and a giant green shield surrounds the outer perimeter of the colony.
"I can't believe that one of Two Brains inventions would be so useful." Huggy comments.
"yes, good thing your father got those plans." Arrianna says to Carina.
"Why?"
"What?" Arrianna fires back.
"Why all this death? Why all the fighting? I thought this colony was about a new age for human kind and healing the rift between Lexicon and Decimal."
"As long as humans fight over everything they aren't ready to become a space fairing race. I hate to say that about my kind, but most of us aren't ready. We believe that this solar system is ours and no one else should be here. Humans are greedy, so those who would want to benefit from colonization see the Lexicon Decimal colony as something that should not be. Individuals are smart, but people are dumb." Arrianna explains.
"But killing the governor...,"
"That's where pure evil becomes the influencing force. The struggle between good and evil never ends. That's why our parents do what they do. They want to see a world rid of evil, but I don't think that's possible."
"Then why fight at all?"
"Because evil wins when good people give up." Arrianna states.
"She's right. As long as good fights on, evil can never win." Huggy adds.

Becky rubs her temples. Lexicon and Decimal were ready to send in the military and turn the human colony into capture territory. She could understand their frustration. Killing the colony's governor was just about a declaration of war.
"I don't think none of us want to accept this, but I think this solar system is about to be ripped apart by war." Caelum states.
"And that's exactly what chaos wants." Tim states.
"The good thing is that Arrianna and Carina have shielded the colony from anymore attacks." Becky adds rocking her son.
"Can Two Brains's shield hold up?" Emma asks as she rocks her and Caelum's son in her arms.
"I don't know. They keep coming up with better weapons ever so often...,the shield might not last forever." Tim states. Becky sighs. How could all of this have gotten so complicated?

"Carson, we need a way to break through that shield." Big Daddy states.
"Hmmm, it would be better to disrupt it at a certain point instead of taking the whole down. I hope to have a plan soon." Carson answers.
"Good. Chaos won't be happy until we get a full scale war going and I intend on getting that done." Big Daddy growls.
