Chapter 10 - Wedded Bliss! The Time Has Arrived!

(we open up the chapter with an exterior shot of the Cluster Royal Palace. It has been decorated in an extravagant manner as we hear church bells ring out in the distance. Judging from the bells and the white decor, it seems that there is a wedding going on. We later go to the royal courtyard, where we see many guests arrive for the occasion and seated in two respective rows as well. As the guests go in, we see a younger Smytus ushering the guests into their seating areas. So far, we've seen many females enter the procession.)

Smytus: (to one fembot, points to a row) Been with the groom. (the girl goes to her seat, as another one enters) Been with the groom. (as the girl gets to her seat, he then says something else to her) I believe you know where your seat is, ma'am.

(we then take a shot of the row, as we see five other fembots, meaning that these women were once Chrom's girlfriends, whether they were in a failed relationship or not. We then go into a room, where we see Vexus being put into her wedding gown, which is a beautiful satin white design, with some assistance from Trinako, who is also her maid of honor.)

Vexus: (nervous) How do I look, Trinako?

Trinako: You look stunning, lady Vexus. I'm still surprised that you and Chrom are going to be married.

Vexus: (nervous) I know, but I'm worried if something goes wrong later on in our marriage.

Trinako: (as she makes some adjustments) You'll be fine, my lady. After winning the tournament, this is going to be the biggest event in the entire planet. I just wished I was lucky.

Vexus: Don't feel too bad, my friend. I'm sure you and the Ambassador will tie the knot.

Trinako: Really?

Vexus: Of course. (when she's finished speaking, she looks at herself in the wedding dress) Well, how do I look?

(Vexus smiles and hugs her friend for the support. We then cut to Chrom's room, where he is putting on his outfit, which holds a royal assortment of medals and honors, as his father, King Mercuros, watches on.)

Mercuros: I would never thought the day would come when my son gets married.

Chrom: (nervous) I understand, father. If only mother were still alive to see all this.

Mercuros: Now son, I know your mother deactivated when she gave birth to you, but I'd never blame you for it. As queen, she sacrified herself to give you life. And now that you've grown up, I'm sure she didn't die in vain when you grew up under my wing.

Chrom: (nervous) I know. But I'm worried that Vexus will have the same fate. But after she gave birth to Clarence, I knew that she wouldn't succumb to the pain.

Mercuros: And here you are-- about to be married to the fembot you loved.

Chrom: But what about you, father? I've been hearing that you will give the throne to me and Vexus once we return.

Mercuros: I know. But now that my son has proved himself worthy of his love, surely you will do fine in my place. Besides, as the next monarch of Cluster Prime, I'm sure you'll do me proud.

Chrom: (touched) Wow. Thank you, father.

(on cue, Smytus comes into the room, alongside the court inventor, Krackus, to break up this momentary father-son moment.)

Smytus: Begging your pardon, my liege. But it is now time for the ceremony to begin. (to Chrom) My liege, as your best man, I'd suggest you come with me.

Chrom: Right. (to his father) Wish me luck, father. (walks out of the room with his future subordinates)

Smytus: So, I've heard you've got a real nice one, eh Chrom?

Chrom: (sheepishly) Yeah, she is something, isn't she?

Krackus: (unhappy) I just don't understand how that freeloader gets to become a member of royalty? She's unfaithful! Not to mention that she was-

(gets cut off as Chrom gives Krackus a deadly look; a look that mans his lasers to be ready when his eyes get red.)

(the red eyes soon disappear, and Chrom's eyes go back to normal.)

Chrom: (stern) Once I'm king, you'll never make that mistake again. Understood? (Krackus nods) (smiles) Good.

(the three then walk over to the ceremony. We then cut to said wedding ceremony, where Chrom stands alongside Smytus, his best man, and a priest-bot. On the other side of altar stands Trinako and two chambermaids. When the music comes up, several robots stand in attention as Vexus walks down the aisle, alongside several roach drones doing jobs such as flower-bot, ring-bot, etc. When she gets to the altar, Chrom becomes amazed at how beautiful she is in her wedding dress. And with that, they then face the priest-bot.)

Priest-Bot: Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today, under the grace of Cog, to witness the royal marriage of Prince Chrom and Lady Vexus. Today, they will come together in holy matrimony under Cluster royalty. (to Chrom) Do you, Prince Chrom, son of King Mercuros and Queen Selenia, take Vexus to be your lawful, wedded wife?

Chrom: (nervous, but gets his composure together) I do.

Priest-Bot: (to Vexus) And do you, Lady Vexus, take Prince Chrom to be your lawful, wedded husband?

Vexus: (softly) I do.

Priest-Bot: Then by the power invested and programmed by me, I know pronounce you Husband and Wife. You may kiss the bride.

(and with that, Chrom and Vexus turn to face each other. As Chrom lifts her wedding veil, Vexus immediately grabs his cheeks and puts him into a liplock, amongst the cheers and applause of the congregation. We then cut to a different area of the courtyard where Vexus and Chrom proceed to enter a carriage to bring them to their honeymoon home. Just before they go in, Vexus tosses the bouqet to the crowd, to which Trinako catches. She looks over to the Cluster Ambassador and proceeds to blush. The guests continue to cheer as the newly married couple gets into their carriage and ride off. As they begin to kiss again, we hear someone saying her name as the scene finally ripples back to the present time. As it turns out, Vexus is still on her throne as she recollects her past, which is rudely interrupted by her henchbot, Lord Vos.)

Lord Vos: Queen Vexus!

Vexus: (awake from her slumber, annoyed) What is it, Vos?

Lord Vos: We've just gotten word back from the Ambassador about the robot girl from Earth.

Vexus: What did he find out about her?

Lord Vos: Well, she did put up a good battle against until one of the humans told her about his off-switch.

Vexus: Damn! If the Ambassador would've gotten that upgrade under my orders, that off-switch would've been taken off by now!

(on cue, another individual enters the throne room. This is a male robot in his late teens and has a green and black paintjob. He also has green hair and has fangs sticking out of his mouth. Amazingly, this is Vexus' first born, Clarence, only now he is older.)

Clarence: (annoyed) Mother, can you please tell Lord Vos to keep his voice down? I'm trying to enjoy my royalty here!

Vexus: Clarence, sweetie, mumsy and Vos were discussing about what we found on our security check today.

Clarence: You mean that robot girl from Earth everyone in the palace has been talking about?

Vexus: Yes. It appears that this girl is more powerful than we thought, judging from the Ambassador's report.

Clarence: Well, where is the proof to this Earth girl?

Lord Vos: Well, we did receive the transmission from his battle with the robot girl.

Clarence: (intrigued) I see. (to Vexus) Mother, can we see the footage, please?

Vexus: (smiles) Of course, Clarence. (to Vos) Bring up the view screen!

Lord Vos: Right! (he then presses a remote from his wrist and the view screen comes down. It then turns on the battle between the Ambassador and the robot girl; of course, this would be reused footage from the episode, "Doom with a View". Vexus becomes intrigued by the robot girl's power; Clarence on the other hand grows a rather amourous, yet sinister smirk on his face.)

Vexus: (impressed) Impressive. This girl seems more powerful than I thought.

Clarence: Who is this girl, Vos?

Lord Vos: Well, her designation code is XJ-9, but some reason, she prefers to call herself Jenny.

Clarence: Jenny... Jenny.. Jenny, Jenny, Jenny... (to Vexus) Mother, after viewing this footage, I believe that I've found my bride!

Vexus: (surprised) Are you serious, Clarence?

Clarence: Yes! I believe that this fembot shall be the perfect wife for when I rule this planet! Lord Vos: Is he still going out with Smytus' daughter?

Lord Vos: Where are you going, your majesty?

Vexus: Into my chambers. I need to be in thought on bringing Jennifer to our planet; and bring the Ambassador to the bodyshop for repairs!

(Vos salutes his queen and runs off. As she exits the throne room, she passes by her friend and Madame Chancellor, Trinako, who is showing some concern.)

Trinako: My queen...

Vexus: Yes, Trinako?

Trinako: I have gotten word about this XJ-9 from Ozer and Hyrzud, and I do agree that she would perfect for our cause, but I'm in disagreement with your method.

Vexus: How so?

Trinako: Telling her about your rape back on Earth in the context of what happens when humans use you... I'm worried that she wouldn't get the message.

Vexus: May I remind you, Trinako, about your current sexual experiance with the ex-captain of the guard?

(and with that, Trinako then walks away. As Vega watches on, another member of the court, a female butterfly, comes towards Vega.)

Butterfly: Lady Vega, were you talking to the Madame Chancellor just now?

Vega: Not to worry, Duchess Hyrzud. She was thinking about her ex again.

Hyrzud (Butterfly): Hmm, I see. I guess she's still a bit scared of how he treated her.

Vega: You think she'll ever get over it?

Hyrzud: Who can say?

(Vega then nods in agreement to the duchess.)

(we then cut to Trinako's bedroom, which has a ladybug motif. She enters the room and shuts the door. She then puts her back against it and slides down to sit on the floor in thought.)

Trinako: (in thought) ^What drove me to break off my relationship to the Ambassador years ago? I know that he is bigger than I am and he's a bit clumsy, but why did we break up? I still cannot believe that I married Maxis, the Captain of the Guard. If that marriage was never arranged, I would've lived a happy life. But now...^ (pauses as she puts a hand on her stomach) ^My only daughter, Lin was born in my body by that brute of a father.
