Townsville Park was getting closer by the second. Blossom wanted to help in the rescue of the survivors trapped in the buildings demolished by Him, but if there was no telling what Him would do if he was kept waiting. Besides, Blossom was certain that Him had something to do with Buttercup's disappearance.

As promised, Him was waiting patiently over the abandoned volcano that had once served as Mojo Jojo's lair. He looked much different from the villain they'd faced as children, but that smile. That sinister smile hadn't changed one bit.

The remaining Powerpuffs came to a halt a few feet away from their childhood nemesis. "All right, Him, we did as you asked!" Blossom snarled with barely controlled rage.

"My how you girls have grown!" Him exclaimed. "I bet the boys swarm all over you at school!"

"We didn't come for idle chit chat!" Bubbles spat. "You have Buttercup!"

"Kids....so impatient." Him sighed. "I do have your sister. I have a....friend keeping her company."

"Then take us to her!" Blossom raised a fist in the air, menacingly. "NOW!"

Him ran his talons through his beard. "Hmmm...if you can defeat me then I'll gladly release Buttercup." He sneered. "That is of course if shetilltill alive."

With a cry of outrage, the Powerpuff Girls rushed Him. With a cocky smirk on his face, Him exchanged blows with the sisters high over Townsville. Punch for punch, block for block, and taunt for taunt were matched as the Powerpuff Girls gradually pushed Him back.

With a burst of speed, Him retreated several yards, allowing him plenty of room to fire his eye beams. The heroines easily dodged the searing energy beams as Him chose the opportunity for a little trash talk. "I wonder how little Buttercup is fairing? I'm sure my friend is making her feel at home!" He ducked as Bubbles swooped in then delivered a solid uppercut that sent the blue puff crashing through a building. "That videotape of your friend will be nothing compared to what he does to your sister!"

Blossom attacked with her ice breath. The attack would have left Him immobile if he hadn't of used his eye beams to melt the blast of ice. Him charged Blossom, trying to close his pinchers around her cranium. Blossom ducked and used Him's gut as a punching bag, and completed the assault with a spin kick that sent Him spiraling to the ground.

Bubbles crawled out of the rubble in time to see her sister charge Him head on. *He never lasted in a fight this long before. How did he get this strong?* Her eyes went wide when Blossom was tackled to the pavement. "No!" it was like everything had went into slow-motion. Bubbles was flying through the air, reaching out to her fallen sister. She watched as Blossom screamed out when her body was invaded by crimson electricity, leaving the leader puff unconscious. "Blossom!"

"Two down." Him grinned, firing his eye beams that clipped Bubbles in the shoulder. "Bubbles, not only did you fail your friends, but now you fail your sisters!" He watched with sadistic glee as Bubbles lay on the ground, writhing in agony. "Say bye-bye to your sister, Blossom!" He gave the knocked out girl's body a little jerk. "Ta-ta!"

"Wait...no!" Bubbles leapt to her feet, ignoring the pain from her scorched shoulder. "Blossom!" Her pleas fell on deaf ears as Hinishnished with Blossom in his evil clutches. Bubbles fell to her knees, sobbing. "No...." her voice was barely a whisper. She couldn't fight Him by herself. It was hopeless.

Utterly hopeless.

She'd failed Townsville.

A/N: Getting closer to the end. What will become of Townsville. How can Bubbles fight off Lenny and Him, who'll no doubt become more powerful with Blossom's powers? Review!
