Chapter 1
Author's Note: I changed the title from 'Phoenix' to 'Gorgeous Nightmare' because the song Gorgeous Nightmare by Escape the Fate fits the situation of my fic. I normally don't use song titles as story titles, but in this case, it works. I hope you all enjoy.

“Are you actually willing to leave your entire life? To leave everyone you know and love just to fulfill your curiosity of what it’s like to be one of us?” the sports car questioned the human. October stared up at him with her green eyes and answered, “Yes.” *X*X*X* It was pouring the rain one afternoon while October sat at the kitchen table in her small apartment. She stared at a little white stick that was on the table top, and was waiting for the results to come up. She held her breath as the three minutes were up, and she hesitantly picked it up. “Positive,” she uttered aloud and dropped the pregnancy test on the table. She was in shock. Her jade eyes widened as the horrible feeling finally set in: she was pregnant. She then quickly grabbed the test and stood, and flung it into the trashcan. “This cannot be happening to me right now,” she grumbled and paced the linoleum floor. Her polka dot bedroom slippers stuck to the yellow floor ever so slightly, so the sticky sound of her footsteps was the only thing that could be heard besides the refrigerator running. Her shaking hand had found itself upon her belly, the place where the fetus would be. With her other hand, October ran her trembling fingers through her dark chocolate brown hair and fisted itself there, revealing the under layer to be a bright, pumpkin orange. She held her pose for a few minutes while her thoughts raced. “Fuck!” she shouted finally. The shock had worn off, but now anger took its place. “How could I’ve been so stupid!” she scolded herself and slammed her fists into the tan counter. While she was panting heavily, her stomach churned. October then quickly placed a hand over her mouth, and made a b-line to the bathroom. She held her hair back as she emptied the entire contents of her stomach into the toilet. She was on her knees before the porcelain throne, and held on desperately on the side to hold herself up. Her throat burned with every purge and she started to cough when it was all over. October reached for the handle and flushed, and fell back on her bottom on the blue tiled floor. Tears of frustration and fear started to well up in her eyes, and the twenty-four year old began to sob quietly. *X*X*X* “Hey. I know it’s your day off today and you’re moving apartments, but I really need to talk to you,” October said into the cell phone that was pretty much plastered to her face. She had just gone through her entire wardrobe of jeans in her closet, and none of them fit her right. Everything was tight around her tummy and that caused her to tear up. “I can be ready in ten minutes….I just did my makeup before I called you,” she explained and gave a little nod that she knew her boyfriend Jasper couldn’t see. “Yeah. Okay I’ll see you in a bit then. Bye,” she said and closed the phone. She looked at the pile of denim on her bed and gave a sad sigh. A knee length, casual emerald green kimono dress caught her attention and she smiled a little. It was the perfect garment to fit her loosely and still look good. After adorning the garment and tousling her hair from one side to the other to see where it looked the best, she heard a horn outside and knew it was Jasper. She quickly slipped on a pair of black strapped heels and grabbed her purse, keys and phone as she trotted out of the apartment to quickly lock it. She lived in New York City and lived in a decent building for her block. It wasn’t exactly the best district in town, but it could’ve been worse. She lived on the border of China Town, so a lot of her things and groceries were Asian. October had a gorgeous smile on her face as she approached Jasper. Jasper, a twenty-eight year old musician and DJ for the local rock station, kissed her hello. He opened the door to his black SUV for her and she climbed inside with ease. He closed the door and walked around to get in and pull away from the curb before someone could complain. “Now, what is so important you need to talk to me about, gorgeous?” Jasper asked with a smile and placed his hand on her thigh. October gave a nervous smile and placed her hand over his and looked out the window. It wasn’t raining anymore, but it was still overcast and damp. “Do you remember that night we were out with Billy and them a few months ago?” she asked and looked over at him. Jasper was coolly driving with one hand and expertly maneuvering through the traffic. He’d lived in the city his entire life. “Yeah…well most of it,” he said with a little laugh, “We were both so drunk we could hardly stand up.” “Well, there’s a little detail that I believe we overlooked that night,” October began, “The drunken sex we had…I think we went bareback.” Jasper’s hazel eyes widened and he looked over at her since they were stopped. “Are you trying to tell me what I think you are?” he asked quickly and felt his heart began to race. He squeezed her thigh just slightly and waited for her to explain further. “Jas, I’m preg-“ and that was all she got out. Hell had broken loose on the street, and a semi came hurdling at them at full speed. The sound of shattered glass and clashing metal was all that could be heard as the SUV rolled and other vehicles began to crash in the streets. October was thrown from the mangled SUV and knocked unconscious while said vehicle caught on fire and a huge shard of glass had pieced Jasper’s chest, killing him instantly. Not too far from where she’d fallen, strange beings were fighting in the distance. They were giant robots from another planet, and the sound of strange shouts and weapons sounded in the distance. They were from Cybertron, and were America’s best kept secret. The Autobots fought to defend humanity and preserve Earth while their enemy, the Decepticons, fought for the right to harvest it. “This is to restore our home!” the strange, alien robotic form shouted at one of the Autobots. More gun fire was heard and the clash of weapons heard again, and another shout was heard, “You will not destroy another race to simply restore ours!” More recruits from both factions came running in to join the fight, save for one. He was the Decepticon’s medic, known as Knockout. He caught a glimpse of October’s tiny form on the pavement, and was immediately drawn to her. He scanned her body and found that she was still alive, but barely. Curiously, the lithe mech crouched down and examined her further and had completely shut out the fact that there was a battle going on. The human female was cut up from the shattered glass all around her, bruised from the impact, and a leg was broken. However, a small puddle of blood was between her legs and smeared all over her thighs. Despite her broken form, Knockout found her to be beautiful. A large metal finger gently touched her, and the smallest whimper emitted from her. A small, hopeful smile came across his handsome faceplates and he did something that a Decepticon would never do: he picked her up, and decided that he was going to nurse her back to health.
